There might be a little bias options here since this joint is owned by his really good friend's granddaughter. But the fact it's local, I'm going to support it. Walking up, the espresso machine and register was set up outside. There's some remodeling going on so I didn't get the opportunity to see what the venue looks like inside. But outside is quite cute. I love the flowers surrounding the outside patio. A handful of sweet baristas were working. They all greeted us! I checked out the summer menu to see what kind of cool drinks they had. I got a vanilla oat milk matcha latte. My husband got a summer drink of the menu. It was a sparkling strawberry lemonade. My husband's lemonade was so good! I appreciate that real strawberry puree was used. It was sweet, tangy and bubbly! It was quite refreshing for a sweet drink. My matcha was balanced! There was a good amount of matcha to oat milk. I didn't quite taste the vanilla as much as I would have liked to. I did add some sugar to it when we stopped at the Waffle House. It tasted much better once the sugar was added. I'm already going to plan on coming back when we visit Athens again next year. I look forward to seeing the new remodel. And I look forward to potentially meeting the famous Molly that my father in law speaks ok. I enjoyed my matcha and it's great that I got to support a local joint while I was here.

Hendershot's Coffee is a unique place. What makes it unique?…read more * In addition to serving coffee along with some food items, it's full bar and has all of your booze groups covered. * It hosts live music, and not just a guy or gal playing an acoustic guitar. We want for a comedy show that was great. One of the nice things about Hendershot's is in my limited experience the shows start at 7:00 p.m., which means it's totally doable on a "school night." My suspicion is it is townie's place. When we went, I did not see any UGA kids. In other words, it's a place for grown ups for the most part. Pro-tip: Get there early for an evening show. Parking can be a challenge with three great restaurants more or less adjacent, and the best seats for shows fill up fast. Cheers!

I'm not sure how busy it gets, but there are lots of tables for seating. There is a $7 charge for each person playing. We spent about 2 hours here and played 3 different games. It is so easy to lose track of time here. I definitely could have stayed longer and tried out more games, but we had to leave as it was getting late. The workers here are very friendly and welcoming. They give great game recommendations! You'll need to ask them to grab the games for you, as the board games can be difficult to get to and they are set a certain way.

Such a cute and aesthetically pleasing coffee shop with friendly employees which make me wish I could stay a bit longer! For it to be locally owned, the prices are extremely decent. For a medium sized iced coffee with a bagel my total rounded up to be about $9 which like I said, is definitely a steal for a locally owned coffee shop. Their coffee is soooo good, comparable to Jittery Joe's if you're a fan of that and their drink menu is extensive ranging from coffees, smoothies, teas, and even Red Bull mixes which I found interesting. Overall, such a cute concept! Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!
