Took my granddaughter and her sister here the other day for a manicure. I had called ahead to see if I could bring them in with no prior appointment and was assured it was all right. I asked the price, and told the person on the phone their ages. I was told $12 each. Got over there. My granddaughter went first and her sister had to wait for someone else to do her nails, who I was told is the shop manager. My granddaughter picked out her color, and I asked if she wanted a design. Of course. The tech did a design on one finger on each hand, and I asked my granddaughter if she wanted a design on all. of course. Well, that didn't make the tech happy. She got upset, and I soon saw why. Her next appointment had walked in while my granddaughter was being worked on. She did end up doing a nice job. It looked good, and my granddaughter was pleased. In the meantime, the manager started working on sis. She picked out a color, and it didn't require any sort of extra design. I asked how much. The manager talked to the tech who did my granddaughter in a foreign language I couldn't understand, then said $14 and $18. Hmmmm. I thought it was $12 each. I didn't say anything but paid and left after adding a tip to each person I know I should have said something, but wasn't in the mood. Would I return. No! Just for that reason. read more

They put a chemical that is Not organic , it even burned my leg. I did not realize how bad my feet are till now. There are way over dried and they feel weird. DO NOT BOOK WITH HEIDI...I have been seeing Heidi and going to this location for quite some time and I am extremely disappointed. Heidi is talented, and so are other people at the salon, but the customer service and time management is terrible. Heidi is extremely rude, gets very annoyed with her clients, and is regularly 15 to 30 minutes late to all of her appointments. It is difficult communicating with her because of her attitude, and I had to finally stop going and seeing her because of how terrible she treated me and my mom. It's really disappointing because the salon is pretty and clean, but the customer service is so terrible it's just not worth the money, and I've already found a new location. I usually don't leave reviews but it's extremely disappointing seeing Heidi care so little about the time for her clients, even getting up and walking away for 20 to 30 minutes at a time, taking phone calls and FaceTime calls while I am getting my nails done, and just ignoring me overall... that's the the typical experience... after her already being so late regularly. Honestly... she's just not worth seeing just for an ok nail set anymore. again super disappointing, but whatever u do do not see Heidi, I've never had a nail tech so rude and unprofessional in my entire life! read more

I am very sad to write this review. I was so excited to get my nails done for my special event and I chose this location because I liked the photos and reviews. I am sure the other technicians are wonderful as shown by the other positive reviews but I had my nails done today and my technician was so, so aggressive. I did not even have a chance to tell her what I wanted and as soon as I was seated she took the drill to my fingers--I had not even let her know if I wanted gel or traditional nails! This part is important because I have not had good experiences with thinning my nails so I wanted to ask what my other options were before we started. But without even asking what I wanted she jumped right in! She seemed stressed for time, and she had already thinned out 3 nails at this point, so I wanted to be easygoing and let her go ahead and continue--I would give it a shot. I even tried to small talk but she was very curt. Fine. Whatever. I could not let go of my discomfort though--she was VERY aggressive and uncommunicative. She rubbed the shit out of my fingers because too much powder had been added and she was trying to take it off--of course, she accused me and said it was my fault because I was not "clear" about what I wanted which is the reason she had added extra powder. Sure, I did not clarify what shape I had wanted but she also never asked (just like how she had not asked what type of set I wanted before diving in and thinning my nails). I do not do nails regularly, and it had not occurred to me to volunteer that information. I honestly felt my fingers were raw and sensitive by the end, and I expressed this in small ways, withdrawing my hand, saying ouch when it hurt. She always had some kind of response that was like "not my fault, it's because your cuticle, it's because you didn't tell me, you you because of YOU." Like damn, all I wanted was her to slow down and be gentler or more careful around my fingers. I was also a little bit disgusted by the reuse of all their tools without any type of sanitization between customers, and I know this because I watched her do the woman before me. At the end of the appointment, she cleaned my fingers with alcohol (?) I expressed the sting of it against my raw skin and an open cut that I had unrelated to the appointment, she became very defensive and began to raise her voice with me. Accusing me. It shocked me by how unnecessary that was--am I not allowed to express pain? So, I told her "I am just letting you know it hurt." And then out of nowhere, tony randomly joined in to start accuse me. "What does she want now? She wants short nails? What's her problem?" I was SHOCKED. Tony, another technician, was not involved at all with my appointment and I had not said anything to her or tony about the length of the nails, they were actually perfectly fine. But the tone and the accusatory "What do you want now?"... just unbelievable. I had been silent for the majority of the appointment... I am sure the other customers had not even noticed I was there, THATS how quiet I had been up until then. I don't need this kind of abuse. What kind of establishment gangs up on their customer to bully them? For what end? To make me say that, no no I'm not in pain and this isn't uncomfortable? I had not made a big deal about anything to this point, and in retrospect I felt that she wanted to take out some feelings on me and bully me to be quiet. Their point of view is might=right. They did not expect me to talk back. I had enough and I raised my voice right back, and I asked what was tony talking about because I had not spoken to him the entire appointment and I was not sure why he felt he needed to get involved. My technician backpedaled and told him it was fine and to not get involved. I was so furious. I paid. And I was so glad to leave. So how do the nails look? The good: the color is even and very shiny. The bad: her speed made her too aggressive and my fingers are sensitive, and my nails are uneven in thickness and also VERY THICK. Also, I had mentioned earlier but I am Vietnamese myself and I understand it well--so it did not escape me that they were unrightfully complaining about me behind my back. I wish I had another technician today or had gone to another salon entirely, so that I could have escaped this. I hate that every time I look at my nails I have to remember this horrible experience. I will not be recommending this place to my friends and coworkers. read more

My first visit and they've got my business for as long as they're around! I moved to the Chandler area in August and have tried various nail salons that were rated well and close to my home, but each and every time I walked out vowing to never go back. Either due to my nail shape being terrible, the fill not even going to my cuticle or massive coats of polish that left my nails looking too thick. These guys did it all perfectly. My nails have the perfect shape, and thickness/thinness and the gel polish looks immaculate. They definitely take their time to do it right, so be prepared to be there for a bit, but you won't be disappointed with the finished product. I also got one of their spa pedis which was good too. I love the serene atmosphere in this salon, it's very zen like and peacefully relaxing. No loud tvs in the background or offensive odors. I was on time, was asked to wait for a bit, and then they soak my nails after 5mins(6:05pm) bec it has gel polish. So finally the nail tech came and removed my old gel polish which looks like its gonna come off easily because it was already soaked for 45mins.But lo and behold, she nail filed my nail so hard that I felt a good layer of my nails was damaged. I really enjoyed my experience here and am excited such a nice salon is within walking distance from my home! It's not much on the outside but inside is very nice and calming- I think they even had some incense burning and soft music playing in the background. I came in a little after opening on Sunday morning and was immediately greeted and started on a pedicure. Owners and staff were very accommodating and nice- the lady who did my nails was very sweet and did a great job. Epic Nails differs on quality and the length of their services. For $40 (without tip), I was given a 1.5 hour pedicure! I would suggest coming here when you're not in a hurry so you can really enjoy your experience. The massage was a lot longer than most nail salons I've been to and I really appreciated that, as I felt like I was getting my money's worth. I also appreciated the callus removal wasn't an extra charge and they took time to make sure your feet are soft. I was not greeted, and I noticed all the polish was set back and had a sign that said "Employees only" I was immediately taken back for my wax....that Literally took one minute to do. It's the next day after my mother and I have gotten full sets here. The first time you come everyone's very friendly but now that we've been there three times the service isn't as great. The place it's self is pretty and I expected the pressure by one specific manicurist to write a review "right now" and it's rare for me to not get a cut on my cuticles from filing my nails down but this was ridiculous! My nails still hurt, my Mother's was even worse she got her finger skin cut while he was cutting down the nail. I was annoyed they did the gel without asking and charged $45 per manicure rather than the $20 something advertised on the banner out front. As you can see from my previous reviews, I had not given bad reviews. However, I feel I need to inform others of my experience with 1 Epic Nails. During my vacation to Arizona, I treated two family members to a mani pedi at this salon. I'd checked Google and Yelp reviews of salons in the Gilbert area and saw this one had the best overall reviews. Even though it is further away from my family member's home that is near Santan Village area. SCHEDULING I called on Monday 4/23 and was greeted by a friendly lady who said she could take all three of us in that day. Appointment scheduling and availability was very smooth and quick. When we arrived, they immediately took us to a pedicure chair. We didn't have a chance to sit down or pick a color yet. This is a good thing to me, we didn't have to wait. Bottom Line: Great initial contact, availability, and swiftness in taking us in. PEDICURE We were given their brochure to select the pedicure we wanted. I opened it and started looking in the middle of the menu and the lady quickly closed it and said no no you can get the pedicure on first page (or something to that effect, I had a little difficult time understanding her). The prices on the front page were more than what I saw inside the brochure. I initially thought this was all we could choose for a pedi. So I chose the $40 pedi for us . Later someone came in and they tried to get her to get the higher pedi and she said no just the basic, wish I knew to say that at first I was under the impression this was what they were offering (live and learn). The pedi was very nice and about 15 min massage. I enjoyed the pedi, although the gentleman doing my massage was heavy handed and it started hurting. I told him and it was fine afterwards. Bottom Line: Pedicures were on point. We enjoyed them. MANICURE Everything was top notch UNTIL we came to the manicure. Of course, they tried to get my mom to get a gel manicure vs a regular manicure as we asked. Even arguing with me why she should have it even after I continued to tell her no. This started the downward slope. However, I was giving her the benefit of the doubt, she's trying to up sell. I requested gel nails for me. During the time the gentleman was cutting the dead skin from my cuticle, he knicked my thumb and it started bleeding at the cuticle. It took a little time trying to stop the bleeding. All the while saying it was just a hang nail. He and my mom had a few words regarding it because he just kept saying it was a hang nail (and giving the impression that he didn't do it). I've had gel nails before, his method was different than I'm accustomed to. He applied the solution and/or paint to only 2 or 3 nails, then have me put my hand in the light vs doing all five, then placing them in the light. Just different. I'm not taking anything away from that. I liked my gel manicure when done. My mom was disappointed because she said the lady cut her nails too low. The next day (not even 24 hours) her nails were chipping and peeling off. My gel nails were starting to peel on two nails. I called and informed them. They were very nice and said to come back in and they will fix it. We had to change plans to come back (we were on a tight schedule). They fixed the issues. On Monday 4/30 (one week later), one nail chipped on my right hand. As of Tuesday 5/1 (yesterday), my left hand nails still look great. My right hand, one nail has chipped a little more and two nails have almost peeled 1/4 and 2/3 off. Keep in mind, I'm on vacation and have used my hands MUCH less than if I was at work. I was only sightseeing and walking the malls. Bottom Line: Disappointed 1. Knicked and bled. 2 Worker (I think he was the owner but not sure) was argumentative that it was a 'hang nail' at the cuticle that caused it to bleed when he was cutting the dead skin. 3. Gel manicure did not last longer than a week with light use, disappointed. 4. Had to return the next day to fix chipping and polish half way off of a regular and gel manicure. I was conflicted as to whether give a 2 or 3 star. The pedicure and initial customer service were great but the issues with the manicure.... it was a difficult decision, but I decided to give a 3. read more

I asked them to redo both hands so they had to file them and reapply the top coat... in which a different lady came by and TOUCHED MY WET NAILS AGAIN! Came across this nail spa finding a way to kill time before dinner. Had a great experience. The ambiance inside is very relaxing. The inferior design was amazing. Found out that the owner did it himself. I had the #3 pedi. The owner did my callous removal and actually took the time to work on my feet. He did a great job. The next nail tech who finished up was also great. It didn't feel rushed at all. He took the time during the massage.
