I've used this service many times before -- you might say I'm a 1-800-GOT-JUNKIE-- but don't. We booked these guys and they were here within an hour -- and literally only took about 15 minutes to take away a futon frame, mattress, cover and two small drawers. We may have been able to do this ourselves, or found a buyer on FB Marketplace, but why? The hassle that would entail...and that stuff would still be here. Nothing good about the experience. Driver finally showed up at the very end of the 2 hour window. Quoted an extremely price, $695 for half a truck load, and then proceeded to load the truck in the most inefficient way possible so that they were not able to take hardly anything. They did not seem interested in maximizing space in the truck at all, clearly to charge me for another half truck load. Overall I would categorize this company as a ripoff an encourage others to look elsewhere. read more

I highly recommend these guys for junk removal. Javan and Rashad helped me get rid of a fridge that was too big to fit through the hallway door. They were friendly in addition to helpful and the price was worth the hassle it would have been to remove the fridge myself. read more

This is a tough review to write because while the workers were fantastic they didn't arrive with any equipment whatsoever to move the furniture and boxes. I was very clear when I spoke with the representative who made the appointment about what I had but this was not passed on to the employees who actually did the work. Luckily I was able to dig up a handtruck for them otherwise they would not have been able to complete the job. According to their website, the final part of their service was to sweep the place clean and of course the worker asked of me, "Do you have a broom? " I thought the final price was fair but the whole thing could've been done in half the time with much less effort if they were supplied with the proper equipment. read more

Awful experience. In the process of removing our sofa the 2 men put a hole in our wall (bigger than a baseball), scratched out floor and cracked a wall corner. I was in shock! They offered to take off $100! That's it. I will NEVER use them again or recommend them. In fact, I would discourage anyone to use them. I have never used the service before and will probably not do it again. I had a 72"H x 60" W x 16" D entertainment center (that I bought new) that I couldn't sell / give away and I was looking to replace it with something more open and airy looking. On the phone, based on the dimensions, I was told perhaps $100.00 (and no more that $200) based on the size. The price quoted to me when the crew arrived was almost $400.00 (based on the size of the truck and how much room it took up). I wanted it gone, (new furniture was in transit) so I gulped and said okay. Once they got it into the truck, the piece didn't even take up 1/4th of the truck (I'll post pictures later), So based on the fact that I had pictures, they knocked it down to just over $300.00 (still too much for one item, in my opinion.) Pros: They were well dressed, courteous, arrived when they said they would. They didn't damage anything major (like the walls, or my sliding glass door), taking the item out. The item was expertly removed from my house and that made me very happy. Cons: For what they are doing, they charge way too much. They obviously make up the price there on the spot by eyeballing it; and, they have you by the short hairs, especially if you are in a time crunch and can't shop around. Recommendation: There needs to be a published price list based upon the square feet of the items and the time it takes to load the item(s) and if you have just one item then there should be a published rate based on something more reasonable than the driver just eyeballing the items and providing a quote. read more

I got a discount code from work and decided to use this vendor to discard a queen-size mattress. I asked for a quote and initially was told that they needed to see the items first. After I told the rep that I only had one item, the guy gave me a quote. Even though I thought the price was pretty expensive, I needed to move quickly so decided to go with them. It took the two guys less than 10 mins to remove the mattress. When they found out that I had a discount code, the guy immediately jacked up the price and it was much higher than the quoted price. When I questioned about the new higher price, I was told that there's a minimum charge which was never disclosed to me before. This business is so dishonest and greedy. I was moving and called 1-800-got-junk to take some stuff I no longer needed and that our trash company and Goodwill wouldn't take. Here's the thing with these guys...they don't even give you an estimate until they arrive and take your stuff, so you're over a barrel. Here's literally what they moved and then charged me $730.00 for (Seriously): Queen mattress set, 7 x 7 area rug, two small cabinets (like the size you buy for $100 at Walmart/Target), 3 large (plastic) flower pots, plastic outdoor coffee table. Done. That's it. Almost a thousand bucks. I couldn't believe it but it was too late to do anything about it. The workers were pleasant and did a good (10 minute) job of carting my stuff away, but the price was beyond ridiculous. Total rip off. read more

The process to schedule was efficient, confirmation of appointment was good, communication prior to give estimate turned out to be close to expected cost. They moved a lot of heavy items. 17 items in all and I paid $1000. I would have gotten a $200 discount if I had $100 cash for their promotion. Do wish I'd known about the cash part in advance. I had several old recliners, a couple of TVs, and some other things to dispose of. Taking them to the dump myself wasn't an option, so I called 1-800-GOT-JUNK? for assistance. I was able to schedule an appointment online at my convenience with a two-hour window. I received a call a couple of days in advance; a polite representative asked a few questions about what I wanted to dispose of and confirmed my appointment. On the day of service, the truck driver called with what turned out to be an accurate estimate of their time of arrival. The two men who arrived were very professional; they gave me a quote and immediately began loading the materials into their truck. When they finished, they actually lowered the quoted price, saying that the items did not take up as much space as they had thought. Overall a very satisfactory service experience! So I used 1 800 Got Junk back in July of 2019. NOT IMPRESSED. Now, I've called these people 3 times to discuss what the TRUTH is to what they do. My problem was That the advertisement that says: " YOU POINT AND WE'LL MAKE IT DISAPPEAR..." What they leave off is ..." FOR AN EXTRA COST" The 1-800-GOT-JUNK movers came to my house with 2 really big Trucks when i "Pointed to make it dissapear, they told me "OH That's going to be extra." When I called to have them come out, they quoted me a price of apprx.$700.00 for a whole truck. When they came to my house the began "Itemizing" each entity. 36in.Tv: extra $80, Sleeper: $150, BigScreenTV: $180 and etc. If I would have allowed them to take everything I needed, It would have ballooned into about $1700.00. I kept calling them to ask was this their actual practice and 3 times the answer was "...someone will contact you in 24hrs or less" It's been 3 months since the 1st call. I used these guys today and I was blown away by the service! I booked same day and they were courteous and super fast! Jonny and Eric were the two guys who took away my old cabinets and they were here on time, had called to confirm before hand and were in and out in about 20 minutes all while chatting nicely and with smiles on their faces. It was honestly a great experience and I wish I had more junk for them to take away!
