The food taste and quality easily exceeds my expectations of a 5 star restaurant; however, the reason why I'm giving this joint 4 stars is for their service towards foreigners. We brought our friends here for brunch, some of which are white. The staff treated us so much worse than the times we come here with family. To give you some examples: we were ignored for many parts of the meal with our food delivered very sporadically. we had to ask multiple times to make simple requests. They tried to serve dessert in the middle of our meal, when we asked them to bring it back later the server yelled at me for not making t clear when ordering. This is absolutely absurd! At asian restaurants, this is always assumed since they do not have a separate dessert menu like most western restaurants. A high end chain like lei garden would normally not mess this up. Furthermore, admitting to the mistake would have been fine, but their wait staff yelled at the customer! TL:DR Come here for the food, come with low expectations for the staff, or come here with a local hk family

The décor of Tin Lung Heen was luxurious and elegant, with a two-story-high ceiling and large windows overlooking Victoria Harbor, all contributing to a stunning and classy ambiance. Service was impeccable as expected. Our main server Anson was very knowledgeable of the menu and made good suggestions to us. The excellent service definitely elevated the whole dim sum experience. For the 3 of us, we ordered: Pan-fried turnip cake with minced turnip (HK$130/ US$17) Deep-fried crispy roll stuffed with crab meat (HK$122/ US$16) Steamed rice roll with cod fish meat and garlic (HK$142/ US$18) Steamed garoupa/grouper dumpling with ginger (HK$125/ US$16) Steamed shrimp dumpling with bamboo shoot (HK$130/ US$17) 3 Chilled mango cream with sago and pomelo (HK$354/ US$46) Deep-fried egg puff with sugar (HK$88/ US$11.5) Braised glutinous rice in lobster soup with scallop (half) (HK$184/ US$24) 3 Tea and condiment (HK$156/ US$20) Total HK$1,574.10/ US$203 All the dim sum were delicious, meticulously prepared and cooked to perfection. I especially enjoyed the deep-fried crispy roll stuffed with crab meat, that had a crispy skin and flavorful filling of crab meat. The chilled mango cream with sago and pomelo was very refreshing, with the perfect amount of sweetness. The only dish that did not stand out to me was the pan-fried turnip cake with minced turnip. It was lukewarm instead of hot, and the surface lacked crispiness. The minced turnip on top probably reduced the crispiness as well. When we wanted to try the braised glutinous rice in lobster soup with scallop, we were already full. It was nice that our server recommended getting a half-order of it. It was excellent. The glutinous rice soaking in lobster soup had changed its texture, it resembled congee a bit, but was full of flavors. In the end, Tin Lung Heen presented us with complimentary desserts in a Star Ferry shaped ceramic pot that bore its logo. The cookies and mochi were very good, but we were so full that we had some as leftovers to go. It was a very enjoyable dim sum lunch that totaled HK$1,574/ US$203 for 3 people, we felt that it was good value for a 2-Michelin-starred restaurant. I highly recommend it!

Abalone itself had firm texture but still tender. Puff was crispy and buttery. Pork dumpling were very delicious, too. Another highlight was BBQ combo. Soya chicken was so tender, it was bbq, however, melting in my mouth. Goose was also very flavourful. Peking duck was just ok. Mango cream with sago was still the same, great and outstanding. So creamy, strong mango flavor. Very delicious! Overall, we were more than satisfied and really wanted to revisit here. Great food and outstanding service and view. Unforgettable.

The two of us sardined on a table with a family of four who were either local or no stranger to the land and culture. Normally patrons respectfully dine quickly in silence and leave. This group was indeed quick with typical stoic expressions but also gifted us a smidge of their efforts when looking up from their bowls for the slightest seconds, pointing at their drinks: cokes with lemons, wordlessly suggesting we try some and gesturing their hands to show us how to. Lemon first on the ice, coke poured on. Of course we copied and it was the most extravagant part of our meal. ;)

Baked pineapple bun with barbecue pork and pine nuts: This was like a combination of the pineapple bun nai wong bao and char siu bao. The pineapple bun is good with a sweet crunch top. The char siu was good and tender. There was a good balance between sweet and savory. Baked whole abalone puff with diced chicken: Elevated version of the traditional taro puff. The puff was soft and crispy. The diced chicken portion was small stuffed into the puff. It didn't have much flavor. The abalone on top was alright. Appearance wise, this was pretty cool to look at. Steamed lobster and scallop dumpling: Elevated version of the shumai. The lobster on top tasted like prawns not lobster. The taste was ok but it was fresh. This dish only serves 1 piece per order. Steamed shrimp dumplings with bamboo shoots: Pretty much like a typical shrimp dumpling at any other dim sum restaurant. Nothing special. Xiao Long Bao: The Xiao long bao was good. My favorite out of the others we tried here. The broth was hot and flavorful. The meat was very good and savory. Chilled mango and sago cream with pomelo: The dessert was refreshing. It has a light mango taste but no pomelo flavor. There were some tiny pieces of pomelo but didn't have any taste. It just adds texture. Overall, we had to order multiple of the same dim sum since we didn't reach the minimum of HK$500 per person. We were pretty full and were pretty much forced to get a couple desserts to reach the minimum. The minimum requirement is honestly ridiculous especially when we are dining with 3 people. Their dim sum was alright, nothing memorable. They use expensive ingredients but I didn't think it was anything special or mind blowing. The service was alright. Since we were not too hungry, we ordered the Shrimp Cheung Fun, Har Gow, and Siu Mai. It took around 5 mins for the dim sum to come out and the food looked good.
