This is the coffee shop that made me fall in love with Hong Kong. Tucked on the side of a hilly back alley in Sheung Wan, this minimalist's dream garage-like space served up the best coffee I had during my visit (Blue Bottle + ice spheres = can't lose) in a gorgeous, breezy environment that made me want to stay all afternoon. Sitting at the rustic communal table, using the free wifi, reading a local arts magazine that had been left by the previous customer, I just felt like I was at home. When the barista explained that the shop was opened with the idea of bringing "west coast US culture and lifestyle" to Hong Kong, it all made sense, and I felt like I had somehow stumbled upon one of Hong Kong's best kept secrets in a city that's not known for keeping its mouth shut. Like a pretty piece of art that has since lost its spirit. ( SF folks, they also no longer serve Blue Bottle ) After returning from the Nordic lands, really thought I would be more acquainted to dishing out 5 euros for a coffee, so I thought why not treat myself and a friend to Lof10 before his departure back to California. Lof10 has always been steep with the prices, but I didn't expect another price hike, a caramel latte will now set you back 68hkd. Yep, likely more than what the Four Seasons would dare to charge. I also noticed that the vibes are no longer west coast-ish, guess they've had to cater to the local artsy crowd so they're now serving sobas/ramens and all types of odd japanese/HK fusion food that they could whisk up from their virtually non-existent kitchen. The redeeming factor is that the Coffee is still on point, thanks to the superb brewing skills of the barista's. But with the lost charms and hiked up prices, I will have to move on unless they offer some sort of loyalty cards or discounts for their repeated customers. Hope you stick around, lof10. read more

Love this cafe for sure! If you don't mind take some walk around Sheung Wan, this is one of the best cafe I would recommend. It locates at a street that cars are not allowed to drive in but totally worth a visit. Lof10 imports coffee bean from Blue Bottle hence the coffee here is probably the best around Sheung Wan area. Desserts are homemade and I tried the cheese cake which is very delicious. The Loft style of interior design is also one of the reason I love about this cafe -- simple, neat, but definitely good taste on selecting furnitures. I would say this is the place that I'll definitely come back again next time when I'm in Hong Kong. :) read more

I don't know if I am being too picky when all other reviews are giving five stars. I agree the atmosphere was perfect. The location was quiet and we could really chill at the table. It looks like we could meet cool people there too. Everything was just perfect except... The Earl Grey Tea Latte. It is just too watery. I can't taste the tea nor the milk. Basically no taste at all. Well... Since it has a great interior, I will go there again later and give it one more chance on another drink. Maybe coffee since other yelpers recommended. read more

I came here every week to work on stuff when I was an exchange student at hku. I love this place! Lof10 brews blue bottle coffee which is from the Bay Area so it reminded me of home when I was away! Their espressos and lattes are also soooo good and they have snacks and light food for sale if you're hungry! What I love most is the interior. Although the space is small they really made it feel spacious. They had a community table in the front of the space and some smaller tables near the wall. Also there was a smaller community table in the back. Lof10 is definitely a hidden gem! read more

It's a fairly nice area to have a chat with friends, seeing people walk their dog, and just 'hea' (Cantonese for chill out/relax). In a sense, you can even meet people here for a chat because they have a big table. But getting here will make you walk an incline, so if you don't mind the walk, by all means. I think this place is more for people who live around the area, or for those who jog nearby. I had the Honey Lemon Ginger Citrus Tea for 58 HKD. (Wow, that was a mouthful.) They serve cold drinks with a Paper Straw. (Eco-friendly! +1) But obviously if you're the type to bite on straws, I don't suggest you bite on this... You won't be able to suck up your drinks afterwards... The price isn't something I want to pay for a drink because it can pay for food in Kowloon side, but when you're in Hong Kong Island, everything is averaged around this price. read more

Its hard make a review for an establishment especially with one visit and one drink. So I will definitely make subsequent reviews upon further visits. Coffee from Lof10 is 4 stars. The barista was helpful/friendly. But to me, its also about whether or not getting that one cup of coffee is worth it or not. The cost in this scenario, is the journey of a thousand steps.. Pros: Cool, simple vibe. Lof10 is fairly small, but its got that simple, yet airy decor. One large table as soon as you walk in. Some side bar seating area to your left, and then further back there are other seats after you walk pass the barista bar. It has the minimalist vibe similar to that of a Japanese coffee shop. Very zen like. 5 Stars here. Rumor is that they serve blue bottle coffee and might be the only store in HK to do so. I generally like a coffee shop roasting their own, but you can't go wrong either by sourcing from one of the best third wave coffee shops out there. Although from other reviews here, it seems like they no longer serve Blue Bottle Beans? Cons: Another pretty expensive coffee shop. The trend I guess is that you gotta be fairly well off to drink coffee (especially on a frequent/daily basis) in Hong Kong @ a hipster location. I think it was 60 HKD for my black shaken ice coffee. I'm not exactly sure how the black coffee is made, but I feel like its probably espresso based. The coffee itself was good, strong, full bodied. But 60 bucks for a small cup of ice coffee is pretty steep, shaken or not. (Its got that nitro feel/look from the shaking) I started walking towards Lof10 from the Sheung Wan MTR exit. Bruh, that walk was in itself insanity.. especially under the scorching sun. I don't remember how many steps there were but I felt like Goku walking up thousands of steps to the top of a mountain to prove myself worthy to be trained under the great master roshi or master mutaito. But in this case, master roshi/mutaito was a cup of coffee. By the time I got to the store, I was drench with sweat. Therefore from my initial comment: The coffee here is good, just the cost of getting here is a little too extreme. Overall I would probably come back here to try something else if I can get a friend to drive or we split a cab or something as I do want to update this review by trying different things. Although, if they really don't source from blue bottle anymore, probably less of an incentive to make that trip. read more

Lof10 is a trendy little cafe tucked away near Caine Road that is perfect for spending the afternoon studying or working on a laptop. The music isn't too loud, the wifi is fast, the tables are spacious, and the staff are nice. There is a mandatory purchase for all people sitting at your table, so make sure everyone gets a drink if you're studying in a group. My ONLY gripe is how expensive this place is - $118 HKD for cheesy korean ramen, $50+ for a tea latte... other than that, this is a great place to sit down and do work / study / enjoy the wifi / chill out. read more

I came here with a friend last weekend for a good chitchat and a good drink. it's a 10-min walk from Sheung Wan Station, near the Man Mo Temple and Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences. People who's new to HK may have a hard time locating this place. We climbed hundreds of stairs up to the Cafe. Quite a lot of street art and European-style building nearby, a good place to take street photos. Hipster people will like this district for sure:) What I like most is the atmosphere of the place. I like how they have two big tables in the shop so to feel very spacious and comfortable hanging around at the shop comparing to a lot other cafes in Hong Kong, even though the cafe is kind of full on a Sunday afternoon. My friend and I ordered their cold drinks - green tea latte and earl grey latte. Meh... One of the worst drinks i've ever had, even comparing to those chained coffee shop / fast food shops in HK. It is so watered down. We couldn't taste the green tea / earl grey in the drink at all. We have discount, so it's 50HKD per cup (originally 58HKD). Quality-wise not worth it at all. Maybe would come back for their coffee as I've heard a lot of good things about their coffee. Perhaps coffee can do its justice, will make subsequent review afterwards. read more

We stumbled on this place while walking down one of the many sets of stairs towards Central. We were hungry, in need of coffee and some breakfast. The Cafe looks very cool - with a very designed minimalist aesthetic. Paired with the big street front opening, this is somewhere to be seen! We ordered coffee and "fruit toast" which sounded intriguing. The coffees arrived and were very good - balanced flavour with good steamed milk. As we finished our coffees and idly wondered where our "fruit toast" could have got to, we spotted the girl who took our order dart into the shop with what looked like a shopping bag of groceries! A few minutes later, out "fruit toast" showed up. Now, I don't think we had built up our expectations too much, but what arrived was a bit of a disappointment: two slices of dry white toast spread with chocolate spread with sliced fruit arranged on top. It was all wonderfully presented, but seemed less that what this cafe seemed to promise. And for almost $60, I would hope for something a little more exciting. So stay to be seen and drink the coffee, just skip the food. read more
