We were actually looking for a different coffee shop and couldn't find it and so stumbled into this one & it was SO fortuitous. Their iced coffee is fab. We also got ham & cheese croissants and they were really delicious. There are a few seats downstairs but a bunch more seating upstairs. Everyone was super friendly. Later in the afternoon we were in the area again, trying once more to find the coffee shop we couldn't find in the morning, and we did finally find it but then discovered they didn't take cards (arrrrg) so we happily went back to Noc (where they do take cards, thank you very much). This time we got hot coffee & shared a slice of orange cake. Totally reco this place!

Little seating on the ground level and enough, one level up. Only another couple besides me when I walked in up here, it's starting to fill up. Coming to the place, I like the fact that they have sugar containers here instead of the sugar satchet, which I feel are such a waste of resources. They have the classic cup and saucer for the coffee with a little sleek spoon. I love clean design and this place is all that. More photos and details to follow on my blog. Link in profile.

Here is what we ordered: - Longan Honey Latte (iced & hot) - Black Sugar Latte (hot) All of our drinks were excellent as was the service. Great place to relax and chit chat with your friends. Halfway was our occasional morning base, with solid Western breakfast fare: scrambled eggs on sourdough or avocado toast with smoked salmon and a solid latte and matcha latte. The artful plating stands out, with food and drinks served on vibrant enamelled porcelain with intricate designs. That said, breakfast here veers towards the more basic: scrambled eggs on toast with a side salad and nicely plated pink mayonnaise. The sourdough bread was a good multigrain, but overall a surprisingly standard rendition of a breakfast open sandwich. In all, a nice spot with friendly service, a modern setting, good atmosphere and solid a-okay cafe fare that is beautifully plated.

We were lucky enough to avoid a line, but the 5 people behind me were more than willing to wait. It's located on the second floor of the mall. They have a couple of small tables and one communal table with stools. It looks like they have a reasonable assortment of cafe selection items: Hot beverages, specialty beverages, pastries and sandwiches. I can only give my 2 cents about the taste of the coffee.... It was delicious. It was a latte served in a to-go cup and was the right temperature and not bitter. I'm not a coffee expert, but I hear them using the word "robust" all the time on TV. "The best part of waking up..." OK, I digress. Back to my story. Here's the detail that made it extra special. I saw pics of the joint where they do your basic coffee art in your latte. Ya know, like hearts and stuff. My coffee was in a to go cup, so I'm not expecting coffee art in mine. I open up the lid just for giggles and to my surprise there inside the paper cup, lies a little heart shape saying "Hello Mo, drink me with peace and love" and I wouldn't necessarily have seen that. Back to Yelp! Yay!…read more So my friend kept telling me how good Arabica is when I was in Japan, and unfortunately I was not able to make it in Kyoto. This time, when I visited Hong Kong, I know for sure that it would become one of my destinations. Arabica was secretly tucked inside the port, so it took me a while to locate it. Nevertheless, the line was still super long that one would get a number and wait before a sip of coffee. Menu was simple, espresso or milk coffee. I opted for the iced latte, perfect for the hot weather. The latte was as balanced as a piece of silk, yet never too thick to swallow. Also liked the temperature of the drink, very considerate. The tall size was definitely too small for me... Wonderland.

The coffee is made and served bar-style, though there aren't any high-top chairs. For pour overs (or "hand drip," as it's called in HK), they offered nine different beans, and I could smell each one beforehand. I tried the "Ethiopia Jabanto" beans (tasting notes: floral, blueberry, and apple compote) for 80 HKD, which is quite expensive. The crazy thing is, a 100g bag of the same beans was only 115 HKD. But hey, I'll pay a premium for a good pour over before committing to a whole bag. They served the pour over in a paper cup, which I wasn't thrilled about since hot coffee in paper tends to pick up that unpleasant waxy flavor. Unfortunately, the coffee itself was muted and watery. It had some fruity notes, but nothing close to the vibrant blueberry flavor I expected. Overall, I was disappointed and didn't end up buying the beans. Apparently, project c is better known for its espresso shots, so maybe I should've ordered that instead.

However, I unfortunately did not get much of an experience here that I expected. When I walked in, I saw the barista was already busy making drinks for other customers; understandable for such a small setup. I figured I'd take my time to look at their bean selection, and smell all their aromas to decide what I'd like to try. However, the cashier lady kept trying to direct me back to the menu and constantly asked me what I wanted to order. It made me feel pressured and rushed to pick something. My husband and I ended up deciding on two different beans for iced pourovers. The cashier then told us it'll be about a 25 min wait and we can come back later. Don't know what the rush was to order if there was a long wait anyways. Later when we returned, I was surprised the cashier just handed us our drinks already made. We did not get to watch the barista demonstrate the pourover process or ask any questions. Definitely not the experience we expected given the setup and how the drinks were $90 per cup.

When your coffee is "naked" so to speak, your coffee house experience becomes becomes very quickly about the quality of the bean and the customer service very quickly. There are many hip, trendy coffee shops around Hong Kong and I have tried many of them. There are some good coffee spots around town. But having consumed maybe 50 cups of coffee at this Pacific Coffee and others around Hong Kong, I think of the brand Pacific Coffee like the reliable older sibling to the coffee houses of Hong Kong. As with an older sibling, you kind of know what you are getting. There is no nothing fancy or unexpected with an older sibling...they wear the same clothing style, they can be counted on and they are not fancy. They might not be the hippiest or trendiest sibling in the bunch, but they are consistent. Pacific Coffee is just that. Consistent quality, they are on all over the place and they are not Starbucks (no offense Starbucks, your coffee can be too intense for me!).
