To my high hopes of finding this place on Instagram to coming here, the experience was slightly underwhelming. First off, layout of the place is kind of weird. The entrance faces a couple of steps to an elevated level where the seating is. To the left of the entrance is baristas doing their thing but you can also see baristas on the second level too. So where do we go? We walked up the stairs to get seats and proceeded to the second level barista who then told us to order on the first level. Couldn't have been easier if the barista was more attentive by greeting and waiting for people to come up to order? Anyways, we grabbed the menu and decided to get some drinks as a break from walking. Since it was hot, I got an iced mocha. And honestly, nothing special. It was just satisfying to drink something sweet and cold. Hype? Maybe. Would I come back here again? Maybe if I was desperate enough to sit at a minimal looking spot and try another drink. read more

Omotesando Koffee originally from Tokyo, Japan. Now you can find this modern and minimalistic coffee shop in Lee Tung Avenue. I love the back seating area as it has this Japanese vibe. Cappuccino did not disappoint. The coffee taste was subtle and floral. The milk perfectly frothed with awesome latte art. Everything just perfectly executed with care. Omotesando is a coffee shop that originates from Tokyo. Luckily for the Hong Kong coffee scene they moved there shop to Hong Kong a few years ago. The look and feel of the shop is really unique and feels distinctly Japanese. My rating is based on the following: Coffee: 4 stars Atmosphere: 5 stars Recommendation: doppio cappuccino The baristas here wear white lab coats and the coffee beans are stored in test tubes for effect. I particularly love the interior design of this place. There is not a lot of space to sit but there is more seating space than a lot of the coffee shops around town. In addition to coffee a simple food menu is served here along with some choices of pastry. The coffee here is one of the better espresso based coffees you will find in town. I usually have the doppio cappuccino. The normal latte and cappuccino is a little too lite on the coffee taste for me. The doppio has a more distinct taste and you really get a strong espresso flavour . The milk is silky smooth and balanced out the espresso so you don't get any bitterness. read more

We were in Hong Kong and I was searching around for coffee shops. Despite the fact that Hong Kong coffee shops are more pricey than T.O, we needed some caffeine to last for the rest of the day. We went to the area around 11pm and it was already getting busy. It's located in an upscale area with small boutique shops. The inside looked like a scientific lab which was pretty cool. We got the Latte and it came up to $54HKD. It was more than double the price compared to Pilot or Starbucks. But the latte was amazing and it was probably the best latte I've ever had in my life! We will definitely come back next time we visit HK! read more

This special high end coffee shop has a simple but contemporary interior designer. We placed our order at the door and picked up our coffee upstairs. The cashier and coffee making areas are separated, which is a good idea. It separates the crowds at the door from the customers inside. We ordered a cup of iced cappuccino and a cup of hot latte. The latte tasted so smooth, but there was no bitterness in it. It was so perfect that we didn't know how to describe it. The cappuccino had a lot of foam on top, but again it was so good that we had never had something good and it had a very nice presentation although it was only a cup of iced cappuccino. Although the coffee here is expensive ($9CAD approx.), it is worthwhile to come here and at least try it once. No regret! We went back to have the coffee and ordered their egg sandwiches the second time. If you see the presentation of the egg sandwiches, they look well presented, but you would either like it or not. I personally liked it. My husband did not. The texture of the piece of eggs is like a pudding type. It was not like real eggs but you would taste the flavour of eggs. The cafe must have mixed the eggs with other ingredients or flour to get that texture. There was also some wasabi in the egg sandwiches. Isn't it interesting?? read more

worst service and most expensive price. Average level taste. I ordered a cup of matchaccino and the guy gave me a mochaccino. Regarding the taste and price, two cups of coffee cost over a hundred bucks, and while the price is on the higher side, the taste isn't better than what you can find at specialty coffee shops in the mainland. As for the service, i ordered a matchaccino but received a mochaccino instead. It's frustrating when the staff insists it's your mistake, and i rightly wonder why they rushed to blame the customer when you might not have heard clearly during ordering. read more

This was my first coffee shop that I visited in Hong Kong. I instantly fell in love with the interior design on yelp and had to make a visit. Omotesando Koffee definitely did not disappoint. It is located along a beautiful street of hip and modern food restaurants. The interior decor are exactly as the pictures on yelp. The simplicity of the interior design is super clever and creates a nice vibe while drinking your coffee. I ordered the Ice Cappuccino with double shot (recommended by the barista) and my sister ordered the Ice Mocha. The Ice Cappuccino was super duper strong and will give you a full taste of Koffee. The Ice mocha was pretty sweet but very good. I'm a little hesitant in coming back here as the coffee left me super jittery throughout the day, ha! Nonetheless, I strongly recommend everyone or anyone to check out this nice little gem. read more

I'm simply a fool for anything that is imported from Japan. Omotesando was first opened in Japan before they opened in Wan Chai. I actually really like the design of this newly opened place. When you first walked in, you first ordered from the counter. Once you order, she tells you to either go up the stairs if you're having it here or walk towards the panel for to-go. I decided to have it here and I ordered myself a cappuccino(which is what she recommend to me) and kashi. The cappuccino turned out to be $55 HKD + $18 HKD for the Kashi which is very expensive for coffee and it's the (S) size too. The kashi is also expensive and it's rather small. So anyway, I walked upstairs and watched the bartista make my drink. I found out he was Japanese which made me find it more legit. Once I tried the two things, I felt underwhelmed by both. The kashi, which is a japanese style baked custard, would best be described as a Toast Custard. A toast that is filled with custard. I felt like the Kashi could be so much better if it was hot but it was cold and it just felt off. Then there is the cappuccino. You can taste that the coffee beans they use are legit but that was pretty much it. It didn't stand out from any other coffee, and I felt the powder on top was more of a gimmick and for looks than it was for taste. The powder itself didn't do anything to enhance the coffee. So the verdict is even if I was in HK again, I wouldn't be coming back because it didn't stand out and it was too expensive. read more

Kind of a cool place but, ummm, whoops, they skipped a drink entirely on our order? And my friend who did the order speaks both fluent Cantonese and English, so it wasn't a language barrier. No one could resist a cup of coffee early in the morning, and certainly no one could say no to a glass of iced cappuccino from Omotesando. Originated from Tokyo which uses Ogawa beans from Kyoto, Omotesando has carried a really cozy feeling the second you stepped inside. Iced cappuccino is their signature drink, so make sure you get that one. Barista will carefully pour some cocoa flake on top, so the texture was pretty interesting. Pour over was famous too, getting that next time! A great cup of coffee made my day! read more

I had a chance to visit here during a short weekend trip to Hong Kong. I ordered a cold brew, latte, and an egg sandwich. The cold brew was nice and strong. Latte was deep and smooth. Both coffee drinks were very tasty and I was surprised by the depth of flavor. The egg sandwich was also very tasty. The biting taste of the horse radish was a really pleasant surprise and the egg Patty was so perfectly rectangular and yellow. The bread was very soft and buttery. The atmosphere here is quiet and clean. The baristas are very helpful as well as the rest of the staff. Keep in mind though that they usually do not have the egg sandwich ready right at open. I had to wait around an hour before I could order one (which was fine because the space was very easy to get some work done in!). read more

It is a very unique coffee shop because it looks like a laboratory and the baristas wear lab coats. On the other hand, the line is a weird and a bit of a nonsensical process. You order at the register when you enter the shop and pay then take the receipt to the baristas up the stairs to place the order. As such, it is two lines. I did not understand why the order would not have gone straight to the baristas after I paid. Nevertheless, the latte was almost perfect. There was not much bitterness. It had great texture in terms of richness and smoothness. On the other hand, it was a little watery but not too much that I disliked it. This review is for the hot green tea latte and it was only average. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing and should really have ordered coffee instead of matcha latte. For 50 hkd a cup of latte, I expect it to be a bit smoother. Will come back next time to try their coffee. Overall, it's a nice and quiet place in wan chai to chill and take a coffee break. If you are looking for hipster/cool coffee vibes this is definitely the spot, but expect to pay the price. The coffee/drinks here were so expensive. We ordered a cold brew and the iced matcha cappuccino. The cold brew was typical, bitter and strong. The iced matcha cappuccino was strong and not sweet at all. Which I do enjoy but the amount you get for what you pay is so minimal. I think the best part of this place is the atmosphere. The chairs were interesting swivel type wooden stools and in the back of the shop is the coffee bar which is a wooden cube with the baristas in it. Once you order at front you take your order slip to the baristas which they make the drinks. I am torn of whether i'd recommend this or not. If you want bougie coffee vibes then yes check it out, but if you are basic with your coffee and don't want your coffee to cost more than a meal then no I wouldn't recommend it. read more

I ordered a hand drip koffee and was given a choice of three types of beans by the barista who patiently explained the difference between the three types and let us smell the beans (absolutely delicious). You can also watch them make your coffee at the bar. The coffee came in a small cup and was rich with bold flavors. No complaints there. In terms of ambience, the place was very minimalistic but with cozy lighting and spacious seating. Most people were there catching up with friends but a couple also had work out. Except, I remember the original version in Tokyo, where I've been going since the first 2 months of their opening, and coming here mostly just makes me nostalgic. I ordered a cup of the brewed, pour over, #1 house blend. At HK68 it was expensive, but it was truly a perfect cup of coffee. I usually add milk and sugar but decided to drink it black and plain to really discern the quality. I was initially concerned that the color was a little light in the cup, but my fears were unfounded. I enjoyed the coffee so much that I ordered a macchiato (HK 40) for take away. The macchiato was equally delicious just richer and more full-bodied. My only regret is that I'm accustomed to drinking a lot of coffee, and the prices meant that I couldn't order another macchiato. I highly recommend walking over to Passion by Gerard Dubois for a grapefruit tart/danish. It was flaky, buttery perfection with a lovely, refreshingly bright finish to my morning coffee. read more

I have been here a few times. It's in my top 3-4 coffee shops in HK. It's quiet, decent amount of seating, lots of plugs. The coffee is good, although I have heard that the original in Japan is more customized. Here they don't customize it to your taste preferences. One of my favorite coffee places in Hong Kong - that is presuming you come here during non busy hour (weekdays / weekend mornings) when you get to sit in the modernistic seating area. I'm a fan of their iced cappuccino; some of my friends would disagree since they blend the ice into the drink but I find that refreshing. Their Hong Kong-only Banana cappuccino is very tasty (infused with honey) and serves as a twist to your usual iced drink and in my opinion much healthier than the options at Starbucks. While there is limited food options, the dashi (think it's a caramelized egg cube) is delicious. Will be interesting to see the place expand its food options in the future but I see that they want to keep the focus on the coffee for now. Give this a try! read more

I used to go to the original branch all the time when I was living in Tokyo, this shop has all the similar fittings as the original branch (which I think closed late 2015 / early 2016). So very nostalgic. Coffee here is good (for those who like their coffee strong though, I recommend a double shot) and there's actually seating here unlike the original place which is mostly takeaway / standing room only. The standouts here is the Iced drinks which I used to get in Japan. Although the place is a bit on the pricey side, and given there is a lot of other coffee shops that do similar coffee (but cheaper) in Wan Chai - I probably don't see myself coming here too much except for the wow factor and entertaining visitors whos been to the original place in Japan. read more

Wow! Love this place. As a total coffee snob I love that this place puts coffee front & centre. There is no food apart from some little cake snacks. They offered a choice of beans - nutty or fruity. The coffee was perfectly made with creamy, textured milk. Perfect temperature. The decor is minimalist & I love it. Very calming. I'd love to get a flat white but sadly not on the menu right now. My only gripe is price - double shot cappa is $50 (£5) which is quite expensive by London standards. Not sure how it compares to similar in HK though. That said I'm only here for a week & this will be "my local" for sure! read more

I mean, yes it was yummy tasting and there was a line out the door, but I really cannot justify spending 60$ on an iced coffee. Having missed out on visiting Omotesando Koffee in Tokyo, I was excited to visit when it first opened. It's located in the trendy Lee Tung Avenue in Wan Chai. The decor is minimal and the place is separated to two areas, the lower for to order drinks, and the upper floor with a seating area. I tried their famous iced cappuccino and kashi. I came here during quieter time . The atmosphere here is clean and well decor so you will be comfortable sitting in the shop and writing yelp review or doing whatever u want to do here... I didn't even know this place exist except when I pass by(mind you I am a tourist in HK :) ) this store , the coffee bean aroma catch my attention and I follow the nose into this shop! :) So I ordered a Mocha, the taste and aroma is quite good and within my expectation. This shop could of been an easy 4 stars rating but this mocha I have, the temperature is not hot enough for me and as a shop specialized in coffee/drink, I will be abit more critical. So I give it 3 stars for now. I will definitely come again and hope I can give better rating as I think 4 stars is where this shop should at least be. ------ Came again today... ordered a matcha latte. It's hot enough this time and with nice matcha flavour. At least I saw that they went thru the trouble in heating the cup with hot water first. My drink is nice and creamy and hot!
