Demure in size but serious on the caffeine is The Brew Job, one of the better coffee spots in western Kowloon. Only a stone's throw away from the Olympia Station, this place is so small that it's easy to miss. For folks looking for a quiet place to chat or some caffeine with a side of WiFi, this place fits the bill. Bear in mind, The Brew Job is no Starbucks. There is no indie music or up and coming artists playing in the background, or a fancy gift card for future purposes. The layout is narrow with super small tables and an even smaller tiny counter. Conversations are bound to be overheard, the smell of the coffee will permeate the room, and patrons are typically in and out constantly. Thankfully the staff is both efficient and friendly. It's a cash only operation, but it's nice knowing they also take Octopus cards. While the cappuccino and ice coffee are my go-tos (under $40), the real motivation for being here is their reasonably fast WiFI and solid, intimate meeting space. There is a parking garage across the street and some bicycle parking areas for commuters. Don't come here in a group of course, but for solo sipping and/or some intimate conversation, this is a quality neighborhood spot. read more

I stumbled across this cafe on my way from the train station to the hotel on my first day of arrival and ended up enjoying a good breakfast every single morning. It is quite a small place and recommended to groups larger than 3 people. The espresso is quite mild and slightly sour with a tense of fruit aroma. I tried most of the bagels and ciabatta with salmon and pastrami. Breakfast takes some time as everything is prepared freshly. If you're looking for a good third wave style coffee joint, this is your place! I found this super cool crafted coffee joint right down the block. I enjoy going to Tai Kok Tsui for food and drinks and saw this place while having some beers just a couple doors down at The Corner Bar. The barista that took my order down is damn knowledgeable. She even hooked it up with numerous tastings in addition to my pour over, including a couple from Japanese roasters and showed their ice drip process! She brought everything over and took the time to explain the details of the blend they used and the process thoroughly. This is great hospitality that HK needs more of! In addition to their coffee, they seem to have a decent amount of food. I'll have to give the food a shot next time around. There's plenty of Starbucks or Pacific Coffee spots (watered down crap) all around but if you're looking for some real coffee this is a spot you must hit up! read more

This little hidden gem is the best in Taikoktsui. Been in HKG for 6 months searching for the one...this is it!! Perfect coffees, the best bagels (must try the New Yorker), tasty looking fresh pastries, cosy and comfortable seating arrangements inside and out. I've written a few reviews in this area as I live and work around here but I have to admit I'm really excited to get my post out there about recommending and reviewing the crew here at The Brew Job. Coffee - I've been disappointed with the options in Taikoktsui/Olympic/Mongkok for some time now - these guys rewrite history in that regard. We've even been commuting to Central from Olympic just for that coffee hit...The Brew Job has that well and truly covered off now - so thankful to have discovered them in the hood!! The Brew Job roast their own beans onsite, they've got all the varieties of coffee you can order...for me I can't go past their Flat Whites and Piccolo Espressos. Food - Organic and very fresh ingredients are used. Their Bagels are amazing, they have a breakfast plate that looks great too if you're not wanting to sink your teeth into the Bagel options. For the sweet toothed there is a great selection of cakes, muffins and cookies...I've resisted so far as I'm not a fan of those treats...but I've gathered from observing other patrons that the treats are on point!! This place is popular and can get busy and filled with customers - the team do manage very well and pump out the orders within good time!! A fair feat as they're working in very tight quarters behind the counters. There are some mornings you wake up and crave a bagel. Okay, so this may only be in my world. Last Sunday was one of those days. I spent an hour laying in bed waiting for the craving to pass (read yelping "bagel" "soho" and getting frustrated the best bagel joint seemed to be the other end of Hollywood Road). What to do?! Message Tracy and tell her about my craving. We had plans to hang out at her flat that day and she mentioned in passing the coffee shop under her building did great bagels. I was sold! I popped into Brew Job on my way up and ordered two bagels (one for myself and one for Tracy; I'm not that much of a biffer). It was a little hard ordering as the server didn't seem to know to menu / options, but the more senior barista was there to assist. We opted for a pastrami (for T) and a cream cheese / smoked salmon for myself. I also ordered a black ice coffee. They kindly asked me to take a seat and they'd bring over my order. I did. I waited. I waited a bit more. I felt like I waited for an age - how long does it take to make a couple of bagels? They arrived. Then, I had to wait for my coffee. Bearing in mind I was ravenous (I'd been thinking about this bagel for over three hours by now), waiting even longer for a black iced coffee seemed outrageous. I'm not sure how the drink took longer than the bagels to make, but there we go. In all fairness, I might have been over exaggerating my wait time, but hey, it's how I felt at the time. In the end, it was all worth it. The bagel was delicious. Crispy on the outside and gooey in the middle. The salmon was fresh, and there was ample cream cheese and a few red onions for good measure. The coffee was strong and bitter (just the way I like it). The cafe itself is quiet and cute. Decorated with a hipster feel of dried flowers, concrete and chalkboards it's a nice space to relax (and work should you so desire - I saw a few people hanging with their laptops). If you are looking for quality coffee shop with reasonable prices, this is the place to go! I have been going to this coffee shop since 2015, when one of my friends stumbled across it. Since then it has been a consistent hangout spot for us to grab a bite and drink, as it is conveniently located right next to the train station. This is the perfect place to go in the early morning or late afternoon to relax, catch up, or get some work done over a cup of coffee or tea. If you go on a day with nice weather, they often have the sliding door open and some outdoor seating. The coffee shop is located on a fairly quiet street that does not get too much foot traffic making it a nice getaway spot from the busy streets of Kowloon. I would strongly recommend their London Fog or Drip Coffee for those that are avid coffee drinkers. I think the London Fog is one of the best coffees that I've ever had, as it is the perfect blend of coffee and tea! The store prides itself in serving the best quality beans possible and has even won awards that can be found on display near the counter. If you are not much of a coffee drinker, they also have other choices like their Matcha Latte or Ovaltino. But, one of the best things by far has got to be the bagels. The Cinnamon Raisin bagel is my personal favorite, and any of their bagel sandwiches makes for a filling meal worthy of memory and returning. The tear-apart-fluffy bagels pair great with any drink you get-hot or cold. Honestly, there are times I legitimately crave their bagels! Also, they often have cakes and pastries, including vegan and gluten-free. The options change on day-to-day basis, which always makes for an exciting and unique revisit. I have truly yet to order something I did not enjoy there! The selection and variety of drinks and food they offer suggests there is surely something for everyone. While the staff are very nice and well-trained, and accommodating to any requests, they also waive the 90-minute policy followed all over Hong Kong, which means you may stay for as long as you desire-a rare to find quality in such a busy and crowded city. Take it from someone that has tried a fair amount of coffee shops throughout Hong Kong, this place is extremely underrated and definitely worth a visit! read more

There's nothing wrong with the place don't get me wrong, but there's nothing special about the coffee and it's 40$ for one tiny cup and the muffins are too dry.
