Came to M&C for lunch. I know this is a duck place, but I'm not gonna lie, my favorite dish was actually the lamb. It was so fricking good. The duck was decent as well, but the lamb was so good they might as well change the name of the restaurant to include a lamb in there somewhere. It wasn't a fan favorite at my table, but I also really enjoyed the pan-fried baby oyster wrapped with duck egg. I had never tried shark fin soup, so I decided to try it here as well. It was really pretty forgettable to me. I feel like the shark fin could have been any kind of generic seafood. Nothing about it, or the soup itself, really stood out. Overall, pretty good experience. Seafood always tastes better when you're by the water so get a table with a window view!

M&C is now my favorite Peking Duck restaurant. The meat was juicy with the duck fat already cut off. That made the entire dish less oily. The skin was crispy and light and the pancakes were delicate, so as not to get in the way of the flavor. Finally, I totally enjoyed the sauce. So, if you are in the mood for such duck, you found the spot. The other incredible dish was eggplant stuffed with shrimps (or prawns). My heavens, what a delight. Served piping hot, it was an amazing combination of flavors as the eggplant melted in your mouth. We ordered average other dishes. The dimsum was average, but not something special. The spicy fish was great, but not anything better than a to quality seafood restaurant. The next time that I go, it will be for the stuffed eggplant and, maybe, an additional duck.

Quite easily my best meal in Hong Kong. M&C Duck is located in the Harbour City shopping mall and the venue is very trendy and modern. The place settings are really cool with little silver holders shaped like ducks for your chopsticks and ducks printed on the china. The food served at is a modern twist on traditional Peking and Shanghainese cuisine and their signature dish is Peking Duck. It was so delicious- crispy on the outside, succulent and tender on the inside. I still will never forget the walnut fried rice for as long as I live- really need the recipe! Another highlight was the Sliced Duck with Osmanthus Pudding, which consisted of a slice of cucumber sandwiched between jelly, crispy duck skin and a pringle chip!

Very expensive place, but very good quality food. We ordered several dishes. Main dish was Peking Duck, which was delicious. I had only better Pecking duck in Taipei, Taiwan.

This restaurant is part of Maxims Group, which is basically a guarantee for above average standards. The Shanghainese dishes served here are authentic and colorful in diversity. Some of my favorites are the sweet and sour fried fish, braised lion's head, spicy beef in pungent sauce, and the fried prawns coated in salted egg yolk. From presentation to taste, the sweet and sour fried fish is thoughtfully prepared. The fish is succulent and fried in a batter that remains crispy in the sauce. The sweet and sour sauce is well balanced and really compliments the fish. I like the lion's head here because it's flavorful and not as fatty compared to other ones. There's just the right amount of fat in the meatball to create a very soft and tender texture while not making it overly greasy. The sauce that it's braised is also delicious and hearty. The spicy beef in pungent sauce is a family favorite. It's served boiling hot and extremely spicy! It comes with a ton of beef and Mung bean sheets. All the flavors are strong but delicious and warming in the winter. I have to say that the fried prawns in salted egg yolk are also my favorite. The size of the prawns here are impressive and they're cooked to perfection. They also don't skimp on the salted egg yolk. In our recent visit, we also tried the scallops with mushrooms and vegetables served in a truffle sauce. I was a little skeptical about the truffle sauce in a Chinese dish at first but it was delicious! I was mind blown by the different textures of the mushrooms, vegetables and scallops. The truffle sauce was really toned down. It complimented the scallops without overpowering the flavors. Overall, fantastic food and excellent service. I highly recommend Shanghai Jade to anyone looking for some fancy Shanghainese food!

The soya sauce pork knuckle "Yuen Tai" was very tender and good. We also liked the sweet and sour fish which was first deep fried so that it was nice and crispy. The fresh water shrimps were so, so only. "Siew Long Pao" was also pretty good, so was the vegetarian roll. The cost was pretty average for this type of restaurant.

If you are near here, eat here!…read more We were the only westerners in the restaurant, which gives a good hint about local quality. The menu had a LOT of items, each numbered and with short descriptions in English. Everything was, as you'd expect, served family style. We had the hot and sour soup, some veggie dumplings, shredded beef with vegetables, shrimp in chili sauce, all served with tea. Each was fantastic! Seriously. Not good. Not great. Fantastic! There was enough soup for four, which magically disappeared from our table for two. We cleaned every plate, and not because the servings were anything short of generous. The service was also great, while a bit hovering as they seemed worried about how we might handle everything. For one, I was happy they noticed us struggling while making a mess trying to shell the shrimp, bringing us a knife and fork (and extra wet-wipes). Interesting to me, this was the first time we each had two sets of chopsticks. Thankfully, the internet quickly taught us that one set was for serving ourselves from the community plates, and the other for eating. Don't use the eating pair for serving or the serving pair for eating -- it is bad form, especially with COVID being so huge here. Note: they are happy to bring serving spoons, forks and knives if you ask (or appear hopeless). My other mistake, in addition to the shrimp peeling fiasco, was not tipping. When I saw the 10% service fee, and knowing tipping is totally optional and not expected in Hong Kong (and most of SE Asia), I still should have left a bit more, especially considering how helpful they were.
