The food here is mediocre and expensive for what you're getting. First, the fish cakes tasted like cardboard. They were piteously thin and had a consistency that kinda reminded me of cardboard. Then, came the shrimp cakes. These tasted like tiny rubber tires. They did not taste like shrimp at all. Next, came the beef and chicken skewers aka satay. The beef was crappy beef tenderized with some chemical solution so it had that weird consistency that kinda reminded me of rubber. The chicken satay was decent. It's kinda hard to mess up chicken satay. The satay sauce was watery and lacked taste. Finally, the piece de resistance... is the shrimp pad thai. At least the shrimp was fresh and the pad thai tasted good. However, there's hardly any shrimp in it. I commented to the waitress, "Hey, how come there's only 2 shrimp in my pad thai?" The waitress replied, "No, you're wrong. There's actually 3 shrimp in the pad thai!" LOL!!! The shrimp here are so precious that they counted them! Oh, my lord! To top it off, it was expensive, too. I paid $400 HKD for lunch for 2 and it sucked. The only thing that was good here was the chilled coconut drink but it was overpriced at $40 HKD per drink. There are plenty of tasty seafood restaurants in Sai Kung, so I suggest that you take a pass on this one.
P.S. I noticed while I was here that nobody else in this "Thai" restaurant ordered any Thai food. Everybody else ordered Hainan chicken and a chilled coconut drink. I did not try the Hainan chicken. However, another Yelper Cindy H did and reported that it was good. If you do dine here, be sure to order the Hainan chicken and chilled coconut drink. read more
