TenRen wasn't initially super high on my bucket list because they have stores in the US, but I decided to give it a try when my OG milk tea guide (aka my dad) explained that TenRen is a tea company and that he noticed the HK store has TKY (tie kuan yin, which translates to iron goddess) milk tea.
The menu has a nice selection of teas, including fresh milk teas. My dad got their oolong fresh milk tea which was delicate and floral, and my TKY fresh milk tea had the perfect balance of strong, deeply earthy TKY tea and fresh milk for a bold yet silky blend.
I also like the fact that they use paper cups instead of all the plastic standard of milk tea shops. (If they use no lids or straws, or paper ones, that would be even more environmentally friendly).
Service is efficient, the space is clean and has some seating by the windows as well as space for standing, and it's an all-around satisfying visit. It's not cheap, with the TKY fresh milk tea at $32, but nothing beats a refreshing, high-quality cup of milk tea. read more
