Expect comfortably spaced seating in the open-air restaurant, decorated with cool, muted colors, which highlight the natural beauty of the beach and sea just outside. As for the food, I sampled the fish and chips (I'm told that locally brewed Gweilo IPA is used in the batter) -- it was tasty, but nothing too spectacular. Also, I found several bones in the fish (boo). Service was a bit slow, but being a beachside locale, I suppose it was to be expected. Power to half of the restaurant went out during our meal, but this was when it was still light out, so it didn't make too much of a difference. I'd happily come back just to chill with a pint of beer or cider, although getting home was another adventure all in itself. Unless you're driving out there, expect to wait a while for a bus to come by. Alternatively, you could try your luck with calling a taxi, but depending on what time you're leaving, you might be better off waiting for the bus.

Seems they may change their head chef often. Wait Staff are pretty average on any given day, I've even heard what seemed to be the lady boss complain about customers... Not a good look. I really want to love the beach house as they have really done a great job with the place but I'll keep it to special occasion only. The food quality at the gallery in tong fuk is much better and just down the Rd

I ordered their lunch special of curry beef brisket with rice and a yin yang (coffee and milk tea). The curry wasn't too spicy and there was a healthy portion of beef brisket in it. The brisket was also tender. The yin yang was decent but nothing to rave about. The lunch set was about $43, which is about average for a lunch set. There is plenty of seating which is filled with white collared patrons from the nearby offices. The service is fast and along the lines of don't bother me and I won't bother you. I will probably come back here if I'm looking for a quick lunch option.

For instance, the ala carte Miso cod was $188, excluding rice. Anyway, we forged ahead and settled on the set dinner for $168 which included a salad, a main dish, rice, dessert and a drink. You can tell that they use quality ingredients and take pride in their food... The salad was crisp and fresh, and the vinegary pork dish I chose for the main was tender and done pretty well. Portions were quite generous as well. I had the roast tea pudding for dessert and really liked the strong tea taste. One thing we didn't like was how many staff there were bumbling around in a disorganised fashion. It isn't a big restaurant but when we arrived, there were maybe 10 of them walking around, when 5 would have been more than enough to serve everyone. Would go back to try the deli option, where you choose 3 or 4 things from the deli for your meal.

The service is great too, they have trainees refilling my water, they took my order rather quickly as well. This place starts to fill up at 1240 for lunch so as long as you are an early bird, youll definitely get a nice comfy seat :) I LOVE the strawberry pork ...... just wish I could order double portions everytime.

I would say that the interior (and cute exterior) is very typical to what you'd see in the hip, trendy LA Asian American cafés - pretty quotes on the wall, cute decorations, dim lighting. This is definitely a good date place - and you can roam the mall after! I came with my family during their afternoon teatime, thinking that there would be some specials offered around 2 PM. I think they had a lunchtime special, so even at 2 PM, the restaurant was packed with customers and guests waiting for a seat. After you're seated at a table, you have to go to the front counter to order your food. You're given a number, and when the food is ready the waiter/waitress will serve the food to your table. Since it's Hong Kong and you can split dishes without anybody really caring, we decided to order fewer items to be shared amongst ourselves and eat elsewhere if we were still hungry. Porcini rice with pork and kimchi in stone pot: $46 HKD and with an additional $12 HKD, we were able to add on a puff pastry soup. I have to say that the rice was really good. Very similar to the Chinese sausage in a stone pot, except this rice had flavoring and ingredients to it. Along with the pork belly and kimchi - flavoring of everything was on point, and it definitely filled us up. Cream of mushroom puff pastry soup: When the waitress brought our soup to us, one of them was slightly burnt, and without us even commenting, she said that she was going to ask the chef to remake a new one for us. I don't think we would have really minded, but that was really nice of her. The soup is definitely something you must try! Rich flavoring of mushroom in a creamy broth. The puff pastry was light and flaky, with really good flavor. As you break into the puff pastry, some of it drops into the soup so you get a crispy texture as you drink the creamy soup. I really liked it. Spaghetti Bolognese with puff pastry soup: This set lunch combination was $56 HKD or roughly $8 USD. I thought it was fairly priced, since it came with the puff pastry soup. The spaghetti wasn't too unique. Tasted very similar to how my mom cooks her spaghetti, except it was slightly sweeter. I probably wouldn't recommend ordering this dish if you're looking for something unique or different to try. Hot tea and hot milk tea - nothing special. The hot milk tea was pretty strong, but not as smooth as some of the other places I've tried. tl;dr - Overall, a really cute place to go for lunch or brunch. They also serve waffles and breakfast items. I really like the interior design of the place. The workers are super nice and friendly. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice place for brunch!
