I literally *stumbled*, while walking my friend's dog, on this place - and I'm so happy I did! I got an eyebrow thread and upper lip thread today, as a walk-in (rainy day, so definitely less people around). I'd been growing out my eyebrows a few weeks because I could tell I had "eyebrow blindness" - they were beginning to get wonky shapes from my own tweezing over time. I had been planning to bite the bullet and get my eyebrows done at one of those fancy, $50+ places, to get them re-shaped and cleaned up. Instead, I paid a small fraction of that total for a quick and relatively painless threading. The staff there were super kind and friendly, kept things professional but not formal. My eyebrows are now evenly shaped (not too thin but she did need to take some off to get a good shape and even them out), and cleaned up really nicely. They take card, so no need to bring cash, even though they are so cheap most bodegas would ask for cash at that price. Threading for upper lip is more painful, if you aren't used to it (around the mouth especially), but it didn't take too long and the pain goes away right when she finishes. Afterwards, she used aloe to calm the skin, and massaged it in for a few minutes too, which was so calming. My skin was barely red 5 minutes later when I got back - you could literally go get your eyebrows *and upper lip* done and then go meet friends without being embarrassed! There's a good reason this place has such high positive reviews - it's a gem! read more

I really wanted to like this place and deviated from my normal threading salon since I was on the area and this had good reviews. I got my eyebrows threaded and the girl didn't wash her hands and started right away. Not a huge deal but she also threaded one part of my eyebrow so aggressively that now I have two deep cuts on my upper eyelids. Overall not a great experience and won't be coming back. read more

Zubi's always does a great job on my brows! I've gotten them threaded plenty of times but never tinted; however, I decided to give it a shot one day at Zubi's and I LOVE how they look! Went here for the first time today and I couldn't be more pleased with the service and overall atmosphere of this place. The owner, Zubi, was very friendly and was very accommodating as I was able to be seen within 10 minutes of getting here. She calls you "dear" which I find very cute. At the end of the appointment, she even compliments you and say that you look great which I think is so so sweet. They offer a lot of services including lash extensions/clusters that is very reasonably priced considering her location. So glad I gave this place a try and would def come back!! read more

THE WORST experience i've ever had at a place EVER! If your a lash girly DO NOT go here I repeat NO, as a girl who's gotten there lashes done for years and i've had strip lash before done, this was by the worsttttt, the lashes were wayyyy to close to my pupil so it gave me an allergic reaction, I was itching my eyes like crazy and then they gave me a whole hassle of refunding and I only asked for one because THE NEXT DAY I took them off and I feel like a business if THEY mess up on there end and "care about the customers" they should refund you and apologize because I even told the girl "hey the lashes are a little too long for my liking so I thought she was gonna take them off BUT NOOO, she decided to use scissors and CUT THE LASH DOWNlike what LOL, and yet I paid over $50 or more? LOL for lashes that she cut and she placed way to close to my eye? that's wild. Anyways if you want your lashes to itch your eyes and be cut down LOL go here , otherwise please save your money because they were super rude with me and only gave me half and even THAT was a hassle because she said "no refund policy under any conditions" which in my opinion is BAD for a company anyways and she was like "do you want it or not" like WOW worst service I've received my whole life and then once I got my money back she blamed me and said "well you should've told us when It hurt " but I had work the next day? lol i'm not gonna leave irritated lashes in my eyes for a whole shift of work so I got them removed cause that was insane won't lie, take my advice or don't but I'll never step foot in that store and. never recommend this. read more

I have to say that Zubi is THE BEST. I used to live in the Lower East Side for over 25 years and have not encountered a better establishment. The service is amazing! I've gotten multiple services here from threading my eyebrows, waxing, to having a facial, and soon will be getting my eyelashes lifted. I recently moved pretty far and ended up going somewhere where which was HUGE mistake. Now I travel all the way to Zubi because no one has been able to thread my eyebrows like her. Got my eye brows threaded here multiple times and sad that I moved because Zubi is great. Sometimes she has someone else working there or running the shop but that person is not the same so I will try to come back and wait for Zubi. I've gotten my eyebrows tinted by her and it's a little hard to notice by others but I do think it makes my brows look more complete and finished since I don't wear brow makeup. One thing I'd mention is the lashes - the lashes her shop does are cluster lashes and not individual lashes. I did it once when I asked one of her workers about it. It didn't last very long (compared to individual lash extensions - mine lasted about a week before they fell off) so make sure you have any questions answered before you get the service. The girl that I worked with didn't explain it very well and was nervous I'd be unhappy. I had an event that weekend so I got my lashes done here, knowing that they wouldn't last more than a week and it worked out fine for me. Just be informed so you aren't unhappy. read more

I could write an essay about Zubi... She is absolutely amazing. The low price point she has set is what may attract her customers initially, however, her high quality of work, attention to detail, and vibrant personality is what keeps us all coming back. I've done waxing and threading both and she does so well in all services. It is probably the least painful Brazilian I have received. She uses chocolate wax and has a great technique that minimizes pain. I also received a facial here and loved it (for ~$65, so worth it compared to most other salons). She has stayed late on many occasions to finish my services and I have seen her do this for many other customers as well. She is truly committed to the work and you can tell she really enjoys it. I look forward to coming in because I laugh so much every time. I've told her she needs to raise her prices because they are too affordable for her level of service, however, she doesn't want to upset or lose customers so she is not eager to raise any of her prices. She doesn't require appointments - would recommend texting her in advance to give her a heads up, although she tries to accommodate customers almost always. Wish I found her sooner! read more

This place is so good for threading. I've tried over a dozen places in NYC for threading and more times than not, they do a kind of bad job that I've just gotten used to fixing with a pencil.
