Most of my visits have gone the traditional Sovlakis, Gyros and Spanakopita route but it has plenty more to expand into like Yiouvetsi Sti Gastra. Further proof that you can't judge a book by its cover. Located in a tiny strip mall, Opa's interior looks like any average pizza shop or deli, however, one sniff and I was sold. You can judge food by how it smells! Wow! Fresh and flavorful, we can't wait to go back. The grilled octapus was very good, though I wish it was served whole. The Greek salad was the best I have ever had. We ordered the Greek sampler entree and the Gyro platter. Both were very good. The pitas were a touch stale? A little crumbly... Casual restaurant, very friendly staff offering great service and delicious food. The grilled octopus is to die for; marinated in something heavenly, grilled to perfection! Four of us visited Opa on a Saturday evening for the first time. BYOB was clean, not too crowded and presents "authentic" Greek food. Zorba's Opa catered my son's graduation parties and everyone loved the food. I ordered gyro which came sliced in a large container which I kept warm in in the oven until serving. Went there for lunch yesterday. There were four in our party. We all ordered gryos but our server brought the platters. There is a sandwich and a platter on there menu.I guess that was part our fault. Our server had blond hair and her english was not great. She was mad that we wanted the sandwiches. She got mad at us and that was the last that she communicated with our table. We ended up with another server Watch out on you bill we were charged over the amount. The lunch gryos were 5.99 each, we had one ice tea and three sodas. Our bill came to 38.22. The four gyros should have come to $23.96 , I cannot believe that four drinks and taxes added up to $14.26 read more

I like good Greek food and have eaten here a lot, only problem for me is the distance. I have never had a less than excellent meal here. I usually go for the Lamb platter (extra Tzatziki), but their fish specials, other meat and traditional dishes are also great. Being Greek I am very fussy about finding Greek food to compare with my grandmother's and my own cooking. It is very hard to find authentic Greek food. Zorba's Opa is a delight, the food is as close as you can get to authentic Greek food. Try the Locanico, (greek sausage) you'll love it. I actually brought some in for them to try and now they get it from Old Neighborhood foods from Lynn, Ma where I'm from and my grandparent's live across the street from Old Neighborhood for over 60 years and that recipe comes straight from Greece, there is NO OTHER RECIPE FOR GREEK SAUSAGE ANYWHERE BUT IN GREECE. The food is cooked to perfection, BYOB which is great. Staff is so attentive and GREEK!!! The Lamb Souvlaki is awesome, nice greek salad is perfect dinner or lunch. Please go to Zorba's OPA and you will not be dissappointed.... You can eat outside which is a Greek tradition either have lunch/dinner or cup of coffee and a greek pastry... Stopped by and placed a take out order of chicken souvlaki with lemon potatoes. While waiting, I found it odd to see one of cooks heating things up in the microwave. I dismissed it. Brought my food home and found the souvlaki and potatoes to be fine. Then opened up the separate container for my small side Greek salad. To my surprise (disappointment), sitting on top was one of the pieces of red onion - completely covered in fuzzy blue mold. No mistaking it... Oh my. This was my second visit and the last. My first visit was a takeout Greek salad - I loved it and especially enjoyed the pita that came with it. Now this moldy onion has me thinking of Gordon Ramsay's "Kitchen Nightmares" and I won't be back. read more

My husband and I just ate lunch here. My husband is from Astoria Queens so he knows good Greek food. We had the tsasitki sauce as an appetizer. It was the best we've had outside of new York. I had the gyro platter which was delicious, no steak-umm type gyro meat. He had a pasta dish with lamb which was tender and delicious. Just tried out Zorba's this past Friday for dinner & everything we ordered was so tasty we ended up eating our leftovers on Saturday night & going back on Sunday afternoon for lunch! I find it hard to give this place even 1 star. We ordered spanikopita, and the mixed meat platter. Not only was everything overcooked and dry, the $14 spanikopita was a 3x3 square and made from frozen brown spinach, and the $22 meat platter was over cooked chicken and pork, dry lamb and a ground beef patty. We had 2 pieces of the lemon potatoes which weren't too bad but covered in oil and a tiny salad of iceberg lettuce. The best part of the meal was the fries and single pita we were to use for all the meat. Definitely a mistake we won't make again. read more

This is quite a good place. The food is delicious! We have not sampled the entire menu yet, but so far we like it all. Getting back out of the parking lot can be a bit trying if traffic is heavy, but if you wait, the light south on 309 will create a break for right turns out of the lot. For lefts, if traffic is really rough, just make a right instead and go north on 309, then take the first exit (Bethlehem Pike) and follow it under 309 and you can make a left back onto the onramp for south 309. read more

Our family eats here frequently and we love it! The Greek food is excellent and the waitresses are the best! Our personal favorites are the zucchini balls with tzaziki, avyolemono(lemon chicken soup), and the chicken souvlaki platter. The chef's special salmon and spanokopita are also excellent. Our family has gone to Opa's numerous times, gotten takeout and even had it delivered once. We typically get the Lamb and Beef platters but the lamb stew was also great recently. My dad was up in Pennsylvania visiting from Long Island which means this review may be prejudiced because Long Island has some of the best Greek restaurants ever. Anyways, we were in the mood for Greek and we found this restaurant. We ordered the spanakopita to split. You could tell from the look of the spanakopita that it was just microwaved. It tasted like it just came out of the microwave as well. Some spots on the spanakopita were cold while others were pipping hot. For entrees, I ordered the chicken souvlaki and my dad ordered the lamb souvlaki. He enjoyed his but agreed that for the portion it was overpriced. Mine was okay but the chicken was rubbery. Also, I ordered rice with my meal and got fries instead which upset me because I don't eat fried food. Our server was very slow and didn't seem like she understood what we were asking or knew what she was doing. I was very disappointed and very unsatisfied. read more

I had lunch there today and got taken advantage of. I order a side of Dolmades and a side salad. They charge me $8.95 for a salad that in any other restaurant would be a side salad. They said it was a small greek salad instead. How as the customer are we suppose to know that they have a side and small salad, shouldn't the waitress let you know that?? Also to charge me $8.95 for a salad is just crazy, it had no meat, nothing special about it. To top it off it had barely any feta on it so I asked for a little more and they charge me $1 for it! They didn't even tell me that it cost extra. Needless to say that it cost me $20 for grape leaves and a "small" salad. I could go to a fancy restaurant and get a big meal for less than that. I will no longer be going to this restaurant . I feel totally taken advantage of and will not make that mistake again. Oh also, don't ask for extra sour cream for the dolamdes (which is the amount of 1-2 tbsp) bc they will charge you extra for that as well. read more
