My mom loved her chicken gyro sandwhich! The potatoes were basic but good. I LOVED the melitzanosalata! I ordered a chicken gyro with no lettuce or tomato and forgot to ask them to add feta. That's just how I like it, I know many people would disagree lol. I wish there was more tzatziki sauce on it. The team did great with following the special instructions. That's always a worry of mine with take out but they listened to everything. I didn't feel too well after eating my food but I did finished the melitzanosalata the next day and felt completely fine! I'd like to try this restaurant again and explore something different!

I decided to get lunch from this restaurant and ordered online. I ordered the shrimp wrap. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked into a cute restaurant and was greeted. The food was ready and I left. When I dug in the wrap was just ok. Wish there were more shrimp inside. The flavors were ok. All in all had an ok experience.

You have to try the pastitsio! So delicious! Friendly service over the phone! They made sure I had checked for silverware in my Togo order. Place was clean and organized as well!

Was craving some Greek food for dinner. Ended up finding this on grub hub. Portion size was just right. Food was delicious. Would recommend to others in the area.

First time here today. Had a chicken gyro platter with Zorba fries. Freaking amazing. Hot and fresh & got a lot of food. Had to try the Chocolate cake. Has a hint of orange in it. Amazing... will definitely go again....

My mom and I love this place and have been coming here for years. Great food, great service. And their Tzatziki sauce is my favorite - which says a lot because I'm picky about Tzatziki sauce! Happy this restaurant survived the pandemic.

The best Greek food in Northern New Jersey. Consistently excellent. It never disappoints.

Vegan meatballs on bed of organic greens?

I was excited to see some vegan options but I should've known better. I do not recommend the vegan meat balls. And they were not served on a bed of organic greens which is the other reason I ordered this dish. Clearly they don't know what vegan is by giving me a dairy based sauce and sure feels like they need to remove "the organic bed of greens reference from the menu for this dish. Foodies will do better to get falafel (a Middle Eastern veggie meatball of sorts) at one of plenty options in this area, or a Greek salad at the local diner.

    Chopped salad with grilled chicken

My coworkers and I frequent Zorba's for lunch. The food is always pretty solid. I enjoy their hummus and the chopped salad with grilled chicken never disappoints. The service is very average and in my opinion, the prices are a little high for lunch. I also don't love the atmosphere. Nevertheless, a decent option for lunch in the Wayne area.

Small, casual Greek eatery in the Corrados strip mall. Stopped in for lunch and had the gyro sandwich with fries. Tasty gyro and good, crispy fries. Friendly service and while they forgot to bring the hummus appetizer we ordered, we still enjoyed the food & atmosphere. By the time we finished our sandwiches, we were satisfied and didn't need the appetizer. Worth a visit and the 'student special' for kids includes fries.

Their sandwiches are good but don't order their 6.00 fries. They'll shamelessly serve you old fries that you can barely chew.

Is this place BYOB? I see they close at 9pm on Thursdays, are they pushy where they'll kick out a table at closing? Thanks!

Hello Tammy! Yes we are a BYOB and the kitchen closes at 9 but we stay open for our patrons that are already dining in!

Do you ever have an experience at a place so bad that it ruins the trajectory of your whole day?…read moreThat was my morning at Jackie Smalls. I don't give out one-stars on principle unless the food is inedible or something egregious happens but I feel in this case it is warranted. This is my third time at Jackie Smalls. My first, I thought the avo toast was great. Second time I got a very bland breakfast burrito. My third, today, I brought my infant son and decided to dine in. I asked for a high chair and once seated was told by my "waiter" that he could not take my order but I had to order at the front. First issue was this high chair. Nobody knew how to adjust the straps including me, and it was some minimal little aesthetic thing that looked like he could easily topple out of. This is important later. Anyways no big deal with the ordering, front guy was accommodating and let me order from my seat. I ordered the Smalls Scramble for me and French toast for my son with the syrup and raspberries on the side, no pistachios or whip. Food takes a good bit to come out, which is no biggie either. When it arrives, they set down the French toast plate with a knife (a knife knife not a butter knife) on it in front of my son. Ok not great but I hand them the knife back. Then I try the food. Honestly, I'm not sure what to say about the food but...yikes. The eggs were certainly not soft scrambled, and the toast did not look buttered, and the weak potatoes were somewhat like a thick flaccid potato chip drenched in truffle oil and, by the way, not more than a speck of salt on anything. It looked pretty but that was about it. The French toast was deep fried or air fried and it was just not good. Sorry, no other way to say it. So I go to ask for two things: salt, and to inquire as to whether the multi-grain toast has nuts since I have an allergy and it looked concerning. I keep having to go up to these counters and leave my baby unattended in his unstable high chair because nobody will come to me and keep making me get up. I had to ask like five people about the bread until someone pulled out a binder and started looking for allergens. Everyone was just pointing me to the next person and many seemed to simply not understand my question due to a language barrier. I get my salt, and this is some COARSE salt. So I couldn't even fix the seasoning. Not flaky, but like coarse and pebbly for pickling or seasoning steaks, not for food. While I'm up and bouncing from person to person I keep gesturing at my son and nobody will come to my table. In the meantime, he smushed the raspberries and spilled the syrup and I'm back and forth between my conversation and keeping my son in his chair. At the end, I just didn't trust these people's knowledge of anything and could not eat any of my food but brought it home for my husband. It's one thing to serve food that needs a bit of work, but you need to at least offer normal table salt for folks to fix it. It's another thing to have the majority of your staff not know about allergens or how to navigate your high chairs. Also that food needed more than a little bit of work. I will say though those pancakes did look good. I will not be posting pictures for this review because I don't want to mislead with the pretty plating.

My favorite sauce of choice always would be honey bbq. The Gyro platter is my second favorite but I will always go for the Chicken Pita wrap because the meat and sauce consistency is excellent. The floors are sticky and the area around the garbage has pieces of food because no one has cleaned it. I saw the hand sanitizer, but the bottle looked dirtier than the floor. A gentleman screamed from the back. How can I help you while he's on the phone and doing God knows what. After he put his phone down and decided to take my order it was insane how three mixed platters and six falafel's came out to $50. Of course I've been to other Halal places one very famous in Fairlawn and I never experienced like this. Mind you I still haven't ordered my food. Why my order was being prepared. The gentleman had his body and neck at a 90° angle chitchatting on the phone over the food. I was wondering if I should've brought an umbrella for this event. Their platter looks nothing like the picture mind you the chicken was kind of yellowish, but in the right light it looks like human flesh. The chicken was cold so was the beef. The beef tasted just like every other Halal place you've ever been to matter fact the meat used is from a larger chunk of meat that was brought to the store in a bag later thawed out and cut into little cubes. What is in it? Who knows? The chicken tastes nothing that you would buy in an Arabian country. Maybe that's why it was called Halal. And the guy who prepared my food did bless it with his mouth open. Do I recommend this place? I recommend for someone to come and clean it and teach these gentlemen how to be a little bit more sanitary. I don't wish this place harmed. They've been around for a long time, but they need to be a little bit more sanitary. Someone needs to grab a mop and a rag and wipe things down. I gave them three stars cause they could do a lot a lot better. Well, I returned to this place maybe when they clean up. Let me tell you about the enthusiasm in that place., practically zero. Oh and before I forget their white sauce couldn't get any watery. Someone is seriously being cheap over there. AND WHY THE HELL DOES THE CHICKEN TAIST LIKE TUNA WITH HOT SAUCE?! This ain't it!!

The new owners have completely reimagined the space into a moderately upscale, but still family-friendly, Mediterranean oasis with a contemporary aesthetic that's also a huge culinary step up from its predecessor. The staff was friendly and super attentive without ever being overbearing and went the extra mile to ensure we had a great meal and a great experience. My dining companion and I started with the special Trio Dip ($20), a fantastic, delicious starter with shareable portions of traditional hummus, a unique avocado hummus, and perfectly smoky baba ghanoush with crunchy walnuts alongside with a basket of warmly toasted pita bread. For our entree, we decided to share the Mandaloun Mix Grill ($40) and split the three kebabs -- filet mignon shish, ground beef kofta, and grilled chicken. This platter is a masterclass in grilling with three juicy and flavorful kebabs. Mandaloun also pays attention to small details that make the dining experience so memorable. We were both huge fans of the dipping dish with a concoction of olive oil, za'atar seasoning, and sesame seeds served with the pita and the toum -- an emulsion of garlic, oil, lemon juice, and salt which creates a thick, mayonnaise-like condiment that is 100% vegan and dairy-free -- served alongside our entree that's a perfect zesty pairing for the grilled chicken. One of the staff noticed how much I enjoyed both and brought over a small 'to go' container of each for us to take home. There was also a brief "if you know, you know" moment during dinner that I am sure was entirely unintentional. Our Mandaloun Mix Grill entree came with a tasty green salad topped with crispy pita strips, which felt like a very sophisticated homage to the Friendly's Crispy Chicken Salad entree that was topped with tortilla strips. PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home to enjoy with your meal. Mandaloun is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol. PRO TIP #2: Bring cash. Mandaloun has added a small surcharge for using credit cards to pay for your meal.

I enjoyed it so much that I decided to return yesterday. This time, I went alone. I was excited to go back, until the moment I walked in and was immediately asked whether I had a reservation. I said no. I was one person, and there were plenty of empty tables. Despite that, I was placed in a freezing corner by the door. It was uncomfortable and honestly unwelcoming. Nowhere on your website does it say "reservations only," yet that's exactly how I was treated. I felt so uncomfortable that I chose to leave without even placing an order. I walked in ready to spend money and enjoy a meal, and instead I walked out feeling dismissed. You lost a paying customer. What makes this worse is that I later told the same friend I originally went with, and she shared that when she calls ahead for a party of two, they simply tell her to come in because there are plenty of seats and that reservations aren't even required. So clearly, reservations are not the issue. That makes the way I was treated feel intentional and different. As a Palestinian who spends a lot of time in Paterson, I'm very familiar with Middle Eastern restaurants and pricing. Lentil soup is a staple on our menus. I know what a reasonable price looks like. For example, Kral Pide in Paterson charges $7. Charging $15 for lentil soup is excessive. It's not just high, it's outrageous. I'm extremely disappointed. I came back because I genuinely liked this place. Instead, I left feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone, nor will I be bringing friends or family to this establishment again.
