We used to order from here all the time because the food was tasty with great portions. We usually get the mixed grill and it would last us a couple of meals each. Went to order today and it costs $12 more since we last ordered. Fine, we decide to press on. Food gets here and the portions are significantly smaller. Easily 1/4 of the rise compared to the previous version and significantly less meat, with gyro meat replaced with raw onions. This won't last more than one night. We're so disappointed and unfortunately won't be ordering again. read more

Super impressed with this new spot in town and I can't believe it took me so long to get here. My wife and I came in here Saturday evening for dinner and the place was empty! The waiter said its typically way busier but it was a holiday weekend. This place deserves to be packed. Food: We ordered the mixed grill platter for two, which includes 4 cold appetizers, 1 hot appetizer, salad, and the mixed grill platter. WOW was this a lot of food! It ended up being dinner the next night as well. The waiter helped us pick out the cold appetizers as we were lost, and he did not disappoint. My wife and i were both so impressed with our choosing, I'd go back and just get all the different appetizers and dip cheese sticks in them until i explode lol. Everything was so fresh and delicious, the salad great and we were stuffed - but this was only the start! They brought out a plate fit for a king, stacked with lamb, chicken and rice we both realized we ordered too much food. It was all so delicious and i left that place needing my couch. Service: The waiter was so helpful with his knowledge on the dishes he directed us so well on what to choose. Because it was slow that night we were able to talk to him for a while and found he was such a nice guy. Very intelligent, nice and professional. The food came out quickly and i can't complain about a thing. The bathroom was clean, and the ambiance was nice a quiet as we were the only people in there so it was wonderful. I cant wait to come back here. Buried in a sea of Italian restaurants and burger spots this place is an absolute gem. We need more spots like this around our area and i hope they get as much business as possible. It is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for - quality and portion size. We just celebrated my daughter's Sweet 16 at this beautiful Mediterranean restaurant, and it was truly a perfect night. We had a wonderful family-style dinner in a lovely open space that was beautifully decorated. The service was exceptional from start to finish. The family-style option included everything we needed--delicious lamb and chicken, perfectly prepared, and everything was nicely displayed. Every detail was thoughtfully done. I just ordered the dinner special on yelp. And WOW am I so HAPPY. The flavors are bursting on the tzatziki sauce, the fafallel are the best I have had to date. The shepherd salad is fresh and delightful. The chicken shish was cooked well done as I asked and it is still so tender and flavorful. The rice is perfectly cooked. The hummus is just perfection and I am convinced this will be my new favorite place to eat from. I love Mediterranean food, and High Mountain really takes it up another level. I have lived in town for over 40 years and have seen this building change businesses several times throughout the years and was excited to see a Mediterranean restaurant opened. My mom said she came here with some friends and they enjoyed the salads but complained about having to go up stairs. The parking lot is small but you should be able to find parking across the street easy enough. It looked like the first floor was reserved for a private party or perhaps they would seat people if and when the 2nd floor fills up. They really did a fantastic job with the decor. We were greeted with bread and the server was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our hummus but ran out of bread quickly so we took it home. The salad was very big and delicious but a little too much onion for my taste, but ended up being cleaning my system. The falafel platter was pretty good and we were to stuffed to try desert. Being bright a large bottle of tap water was convenient for us to refill our waters. They seemed to have a large selection of meat but I was disappointed by the lack of vegan and vegetarian options and a little underwhelmed by taste of what they did have but ultimately it was a good meal and a good experience. I may give a different salad a try and sit in the outdoor area. read more

Comfortable, casual, but classy atmosphere. The service was very friendly and happy to explain any dishes that we weren't familiar with. The food was amazing! I wish I took more photos. We started with the babaganoush and tablouli salad. My husband had the lamb kebab and I had the chicken kofte. Everything was so flavorful and tender. This was my first visit to High Mountain Mediterrean Restaurant. It was a Sunday at 5pm. I proceded up the stairs as the sign stated. Being the first one there, at least for dinner, I was offered any seat I wanted. I selected tap water and ordered the Chicken Kofte Kebob. I enjoyed my meal while listening to Turkish friendly music, including one hip hop tune and also listening to how the place was packed not that long ago. The chicken was tender and mildly spicy with tasty vegetables and rice. The bread that preceded it was soft and favorable as well since I finished it off. read more

I finally had lunch at High Mountain Restaurant for the first time today. I've been wanting to go since I first noticed it while driving through Nort Haledon. WOW! is it good. Nice ambiance, great service and the food was delicious and nicely presented. We had the Kazandibi for dessert and it was to die for. I am looking forward to my next visit already. So if you're not loving the travel into Paterson which is a very dangerous place to be in anytime of the day. And you want to stay in a nicer neighborhood. Then this is ...okay. It might do. The pilaf rice is decent. Relying a bit too much on butter and salt for taste which people will like but not healthy. That led to it being soggy. The lamb was dry and hence the reason for the 3 stars. You need to perform here. Shepards salad is decent. Fresh and tasty. Well spiced and delicate and summery and right. They source their veggies for a good place. They have flavor and hence health. Babaganoush is fresh enough. If you prefer the smoky traditional this is NOT it. But it won't get you sick. Me it's a valid entry. Bread was fresh. Delivery was on time. But just not great quality on the lamb and rice which are kinda what you are getting it for. read more

Went here for the first time tonight. They've only been open about 2 months, but the food was incredible. We all enjoyed everything we ordered. We particularly liked the Chop Chicken, which is marinated grilled chicken thighs, and my other diners liked the Lamb Asana. Even the fried calamari was good - not too chewy. But try the homemade baby beef ravioli for an appetizer. It's kind of like baby tortellini with a wonderful sauce. All handmade. The restaurant is family run. Dad is in the kitchen, Mom is cooking and helping all around and their son Kadir is serving. Service was excellent and looking forward to our next visit.
