Barrels of candies

As you enter you feel like you're at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk or SF Fisherman's Wharf bc it is such a fun & colorful store that not only offers a wide variety of candies, but Gelato as well. It is definitely a well stocked store!

LOVE LAFAYETTE After falling in love with Lafayette nearly 6 years ago, I finally made my first trip to Zoonie's. And boy was it a pleasant adventure! The candy store is conveniently located in downtown Lafayette, near a variety of shops and restaurants. And though I love many of the eateries within walking distance to Zoonie's, I never would have stepped foot into the candy store had it not been for my niece's 7th birthday. We enjoyed a TT and niecey birthday brunch at Batch & Brine. And as she was finishing her chicken and waffles, she looked across the street and said TT can we please go to the candy store. So we quickly paid the bill and off we went. From first moment I stepped into the store I began reliving different aspects of my childhood as I saw the swirl lollipops, the dots candy with the white paper back, the airheads, and the large assortment of PEZ candy dispensers. Then I looked to the left and it was as if I'd been transported back to the 80s, when I first watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. They have a small theater area and the movie that I remember vividly from my childhood was playing in the screen and above the television there were several Willy Wonka chocolate bars. I couldn't help but wonder if one contained the highly sought after GOLDEN TICKET. What can I say, some things are etched into our memory banks. Lol. We strolled through the store purchasing all of our favs and kicked back in the theater area and enjoyed the show. This is a great place to take the kiddos, especially during the summer or as a reward for good grades. Take a trip and awaken the kid within.

What a dream!! This is such an amazing candy store and mini toy store, and they even have a in store cinema! Huge selection of candies including jellybeans, gummies and hand crafted chocolates. I bough some toys and candies and will definitely come back for more!

Visiting from Kansas. This store is the 'Bomb' for the sweet tooth. Ice cream, chocolates and nostalgic candy bars (remember rock candy?). Owner is very customer focused and personable. Kansas City would welcome a Zoonie's.

I was filled with so much nostalgia when i walked into Zoonie's. I'm originally from San Jose and grew up going to Powell's (now Willow Glen Sweet Shoppe). I always loved that I was able to sit down and watch Willy Wonka which is one of my favorite movies. I don't go down to San Jose often, so having Zoonie's so close to me is awesome! I appreciate the variety of candy that is sold here. Currently due to the pandemic you need to ask an associate to bag your candy from the bulk bins or you can simply grab a bag that's packed towards the middle area of the bulk bins. I grabbed a variety of sour belts that were already packaged which made the process even easier! I honestly wasn't a fan of putting the candy in bags myself. There is also gelato which I will have to grab next time! I definitely recommend this candy store to anyone who has a sweet tooth as you can spend hours going through all the candy and also watch Willy Wonka while you're there!

Zoonie's used to be Powell's, end it is now weigh less cluttered and every bit as good! They have a whole wall full of candies that you can dump into a bag and then pay by the pound. They have all kinds of old-time candy, and new candy bars as well. They have gelato and handmade chocolates in a special refrigerated case. Unlike Powell's, they don't sell lots of coffee mugs and gimmicky little toys. It's still as good as ever! And maybe a little better.

From spicy, hot, and sweet Sriracha sauce to green foaming sugary candy that looks like it's packed into an aerosol can. (Is it really?) I bought some Turkish Delight here for around $10 and it came with 20 pieces which I thought was a good deal, and I bought a gummy pizza which was around $20 which was actually the size of a small 10 inch pizza and had gummy meat looking pieces. The Turkish Delight had a price sign, the gummy pizza didn't. My daughter also bought some odds and ends and I quickly spent $50. The cashier was neutral. It was late in the evening and I think we may have been their last customers before they closed. Since it's literally decked to the halls, and jam packed with candy you get a feeling like you have to buy EVERYTHING. Prices seem to be on some items and not on others which I didn't favor. If I would have known how much the gummy pizza was I wouldn't have bought it. Also, with all the candy in close proximity to each other the colors inside the stosorta run together. If you're looking to make a lot of candy choices in your life this is a good place, yet you might get overwhelmed and spend a lot too!

We purchased a bag of chocolate coffee beans and a half pound box of assorted chocolates (about…read more10-14 pieces), plus two free samples on top of that, this past weekend. Our mixed selections included dark chocolate almonds, dark chocolate peanuts, butterscotch chews, dark coconut special, dark peanut butter heart, milk chocolate peppermint pattie, lemon truffle, marshmallow egg, dark cherry cordial, dark chocolate chip truffle, and others. It's hard to pick a fave, especially of the dark chocolate variety, but the dark chocolate almonds never disappoint. Service was slow with just one worker helping a line of customers on a Saturday afternoon and each customizing boxes of chocolates. But the lady was friendly, and I didn't run into any problems paying with a gift card. Still, it was so inefficient, it's good I wasn't in a hurry on this day. The place was set up with plenty of specialty items for grads and teachers, and a week ago with Mother's Day gift options. I appreciate that See's offers reliable quality for all the chocolate lovers out there, even though this Lafayette location didn't seem adequately staffed during our recent visit.

She gave me Outstanding service, not only very professional but also kind and grateful. She put together two half pound boxes and wrapped them beautifully. Though there was a small line, she managed to make sure everyone left with a complimentary sample and a smile. I noticed that having been in this particular store before the Employees that work there seem very happy which says alot about Management...Lafayette is currently interviewing for a future Management position..I hope they find the Best choice..because this store is very special..Another wonderful Employee is Maria B..always so helpful and Professional..I love this store,..Thank you Lafayette See's Chocolates!

This is one of the beer free chocolate shops that sell chocolate covered cherries…read more HUGE fan.

Negative stars if I could…read more I've only been to this store twice. My first experience was good, but unfortunately, my second experience was completely different. The female cashier who originally helped me was kind, welcoming, and handled my items with care. I purchased about half a bag of candy from her, and everything was pleasant. I later decided I wanted some dark chocolate, so I returned to make another purchase. By this point, the store was getting busier, and another employee stepped in. He asked whether the remaining candy was mine. I explained that it was not mine anymore because I had decided not to purchase it. Instead of simply leaving it at that, he continued confronting me about the candy and the original $43 price. I had already decided that $43 was far too much for a small bag of gummy candy, so I only purchased the portion I wanted and left the rest behind. His attitude toward me was rude and unnecessarily confrontational. While I was paying for my chocolate, he even threw it onto the scale rather than handling it with the same basic courtesy the previous cashier had shown. When I pointed it out, he picked it up and gently placed it down. I asked why he couldn't have handled it that way in the first place, and he continued arguing with me about the candy. At that point, I told him that he was being rude and disrespectful. There were children nearby, so I chose my words carefully and left the store. I understand that employees have to protect their merchandise and can question customers when necessary. However, there is a respectful way to handle those situations, and this was not it. I would have happily taken my business elsewhere if I had known I would be treated this way. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I Definitely won't be returning. Also, I must note for anyone wanting to buy candy in bulk: the gummies taste rancid. Whatever the store smells like is exactly what the candy tastes like...
