I have one dog who does not like to get a bath so finding the right groomer is a challenge. The ladies at Fairborn Pet Grooming are amazing! They are so nice and they were very patient with my nervous dog. Yesterday I took them in for a flew treatment (yuck, I know!) and again they were fabulous. When I called they told me to bring the dogs right in and they bathed them as soon as we showed up. They gave them a flea bath, made sure all the fleas were gone, groomed the dogs and trimmed their nails. These ladies are great and I love that it's a local owned business. I've taken my dogs to chain stores before, paid way more, and was told I could bring my dogs in for the first appointment of the day (so my nervous one doesn't have to go in a kennel) for an EXTRA charge. I won't be doing that anymore! They also do boarding, but we have not tried that service yet.

Anyway, I found this company through a link on local dog meetup group in Dayton. It said they were offering 50% off for new customers, but it also said I had to contact someone in particular using an email that wasn't from this business. I found that a bit suspicious and just called them directly. The owner did not know about that special, but she did honor the first time customer discount. Kudos! I expressed to her that I am very picky about my dog's grooming. She seemed understanding and told me they groom a lot of poodles. Good! When I got there, I was almost immediately greeted by someone who had paperwork for me and held my dog while I competed it. The groomer was across the room grooming another dog and was also asking me how I wanted my poodle groomed. What happened?! I think I was transported into poodle grooming heaven. What?! A place that seems to care and is running efficiently and is willing to honor a discount! OMG! Okay...when is the shoe going to drop? I left my poodle in their care. I came back approximately 2.5 hours later. My poodle was completed and the cut was done well. Thank you so much! I appreciate a business that actually follows thru, especially with a family member. I also like the location because the Dorothy Lane Kroger's is across the street. So, I can do my grocery shopping & get gas...all while the dog is getting groomed! Love it! BTW, they have do it yourself dog bathing or you can have them do it. The only criticism I have is that I had asked for no perfumes/colognes of any kind; I stated that and wrote it down on the form. My poodle had some kind of powder (?) that had a smell I didn't care for. It was the usual stuff that a lot of groomers use. I will be sure to stress that preference next time. Overall, my first experience there was very good. I gave the groomer a nice tip and was on my way. I recommend them! :)

I said the prior owner never charged extra, was was informed that she is no longer the owner and, their words, the TORCHURE they would put my pups through costs extra. WHAT? I suggested they cut the mats close and a few weeks later we could groom them as normal. They refused and told me to pay the extra amount or come pick them up. Well, I don't pay the normal amount and expect them to be TORCHURED much less pay more for that. I picked them up. . Please, if your dogs are anxious about going there, maybe they aren't being taken care of the way they should. If I could rate less than a 1 I would.

My dog gets groomed every 5-6 weeks, attends daycare, and has many walks in our neighborhood to meet new people and dogs. She's a cautious dog. She has to warm up to you. We go to a fear free vet and doggy daycare for reference. However, this place was not a fear free environment the moment we stepped in. She was scared. We were greeted but no one attempted to befriend my dog. I was asked what trim she needed. I tried to explain but it was a horrible attempt and I shared a photo which she glanced at. I didn't know the terminology and the bottom line I conveyed was she had been clipped short in the past and also had bleeding nails which causes her to be anxious. The tech assured me this wouldn't happen with her as we agreed to grind her nails instead of clip. She whisked her away to the back to a kennel. I waited for four hours to receive a call she was done. I deceived to just head into town to get her at a quarter till 5 PM. When I picked her up, I heard her barking in the back. An employee brought her out and she was shaking at first but saw me and was very excited. She wanted get out of there and was walking towards the door. I had to pay and had little time to really look her over. It was 5 PM and they were closing. I don't know what happened but there was an exchange between employees and honestly, it was almost a snicker about my dog not wanting her feet trimmed. I had explained prior her anxiety and started to again but decided it was not worth it as the looks the employees gave told me it was futile. I was upset and left with my pup. When I loaded her into the car she was shaking and whimpering. This is not common for my dog. I tried to soothe her but I was not successful. I got in the drivers seat, pulled away, and she laid down and stopped whining. I think that sums up her time at the groomer. We won't be returning. I will say the shampoo they used was nice. The actual cut was not very consistent. Her ears were trimmed a little, but the hair inside was not cut down and she did not have the hair removed as other groomers do for her breed. Her nails did appear to be done nicely. However, I paid a lot of a nail grind.
