My cocker spaniel puppy is the first dog I've owned that needed a groomer. I was terrified after reading horror stories online, but I got a raving endorsement from a friend that has a very precious little dog and she would NEVER settle for anything but the absolute best. That is exactly what I found when I arrived at Thia Pets. I had no idea how grooming worked or what "style" a cocker spaniel should have. I just shrugged and said just shave it all one length. I thought she was going to cry. Two other groomers came over and showed me pictures of a cocker spaniel cut and asked if they could please cut it this way. Of course I bowed to the experts, and she looked FABULOUS! I get never ending compliments on her hair cut. The shop is one big room with the groomer tables in a circle around the outside. The dogs run and play, or lay down and rest while they wait their turn. My puppy thought it was disney world, she had a great time and was ready for a nap when done. All the staff have been super nice and show genuine love for dogs. Even when I had to postpone a grooming Thia discussed the proper way to take care of my puppies hair so it did not become matted while we waited for her recovery . Thia showed genuine concern for my puppies mental and physical health. We are clients of Hailey and my puppy loves her. THAT is the true test of a good dog grooming business....does your dog like it there or cringe in fear. I haven't seen any cringing here, just tail wags, happy barks, and smiles on the owners faces. read more

I took my dog here the other day, and I have to say the work done was amazing, but as I was checking out I couldn't help but notice Thia, (The Owner), in the back area raising her voice and being very disrespectful to some girl who looked no more than 20yrs old saying and I quote "I don't understand what the f*cking problem is, and why it's taking so d*mn long." I have to say i'm shocked. Regardless, this is very unprofessional considering I believed due to your bio about this business that this would be a loving environment, not toxic. You explicitly said "Home like" and if you believe cussing out a girl half your age is "Home Like", I fear for your employees and the dogs. I WON'T be spending my money supporting this horrendous work environment. Get Help. read more

Big sign on the sidewalk out front advertised a sented shampoo, massage nails trimmed and teeth brushed for $20. Great I'm in. I've a 9lb terrier and a 55 lb Australian Cattle Dog mix. Called to make appointments for them and of course said I was interested in the package on the sign. She said oh that's an add on special. Mmmm didn't say that on the sign but ok we are fairly new to the area so made appointments. My husband took them over. He takes the little one in first as the larger one is a bit shy. They have him take off the little ones leash...someone opened the door at the same time and she was out of there. Thankfully a lady in the parking lot grabbed her. She's not ever door darted before or since thankfully. My hubby takes in the big dog when he's confident the little one is secured. He leaves them to be groomed. He received a text sometime later telling us we could pick them up. Couldn't tell they'd done a thing but sprayed the little one with strawberry perfume. Nails definitely not trimmed the little one wasn't tried up at all. I'm not certain exactly what happened But I am certain that we will try someone/someplace else. read more

I read some of the reviews in the "not recommended section" and I had a pretty spot on experience to the other 1 star reviews. I don't really understand why they aren't recommended when they seem very important. Very upsetting. My dog was petrified to go in, and I saw some unsettling treatment of animals. The owner is also very unprofessional on facebook, which adds a layer of concern. Not only was I concerned for my dogs safety, but seeing her attack former employees publicly reassures she is not someone I want to trust my animal with. Whether she is right or not, you should keep personal matter private and focus on the safety and care of the animals, which doesn't seem to be happening. read more

We were able to get on the schedule because of a cancellation. Great customer service, also courteous and friendly. Thia went over all of the aspects of the cut to determine exactly how I wanted it done, which I really appreciated. Came highly recommended so I was happy I'd found someone to groom my dog but immediately felt like something was off. I wasn't overly impressed with my dogs cut & when I picked her up she acted terrified. While paying I watched a guy blow drying a small dog on the back table & he was holding the dog by its ankle & forcing its ankle on its side. I will never go back & would never recommend it. I've held off writing a review out of just not wanting the drama but the more I see people recommend this groomer the more I feel I need to speak out before someone's pet gets injured. I have taken my dog to Thias for a little while now and I have been satisfied with my dog's grooming. He looks and smells great and is happy when I pick him up. The first handful of times I fully LOVED my experience with Thia's Grooming. My dog was so happy and excited to go in. They would run in and not care to look back at me leaving, but something changed. Last time they went in my dog was shaking and stiff, and the groomer actually dragged my dog in to the back by the leash. After the visit my dog wouldn't eat, wouldn't play with other dogs, and was very distraught. I have no idea what happened. I tried to call and couldn't get through. If something happened that has my dog this shaken up I would expect them to make me aware, but nothing. I ended up taking my dog to the vet because I was so concerned. Maybe they were rough, or another dog went after my dog? I don't know. All I know is my dog is not afraid of anything or anyone. My dog is the most fearless dog I've met and was absolutely traumatized by his most recent experience there. I will not be taking my dog back. UPDATE: I wanted to update that Yelp has additional reviews that are "not recommended". One of those reviews was someone concerned for her dogs safety and had a very similar experience to me. This was terrifying to read, and I wish I would have seen it sooner. Seems as though this is something that is a reoccurrence at Thia's. Please consider this when you are deciding on whether or not to take your pet here. read more

If I could give you zero stars I would. I've consulted with several other groomers after we brought our pup to Thias, and the consensus was absolutely should have been contacted BEFORE you shaved my doodle totally bald. My husband said you mentioned when dropping our pup off that she was matted in a few places, I agree with that. But you completely shaved her. Had I gotten a phone call saying "I think we need to shave her," I would have come down myself to see what the issues were. But not even a phone call except to say "come pick her up." If you don't/can't groom a certain dog, a phone call to the owner is in order. I'll definitely know what to ask in future groomers. read more
