A very friendly staff appeared when we arrived. They were also very cooperative and competent. We were also entertained by a great performance by a local duo, Stiletto and the Saxman. The place was packed. We had appetizers, main course and dessert. The meal was very good. The place is nicely decorated with Italian decor. Their motto is: "One cannot sleep well, think well or love well if one has not dined well " Ample parking, order online. I enjoyed dinner here yesterday with a party of 6. It is BYOB and they have a dining area behind the front pizzeria. We had meatballs and the buffalo mozz to start - both fantastic! Great meatballs and very fresh mozz, the chef says it is imported from Italy. For dinner I had a chicken special which had spinach, garlic and mozz in a mushroom Marsala sauce. Amazing meatballs, juicy and tender. I tried the chicken parm you can tell it is homemade. I was told the pasta is imported from Italy. Opted for veggies on the side came with broccoli sautéed with garlic, can't go wrong. Excited to try the pizza soon. Very disappointed. Mussels were very salty and not plump in a forgettable red sauce. Eggplant rollatini could have come out of the freezer and into a microwave. It was an abbreviated menu because there was entertainment that night so there was no lasagna, which my guest was looking forward to. Espresso consisted of less than half a cup - an espresso cup. Service was friendly but inept. We had to ask twice for bread. The bread, unlike the rest of the meal, was delicious. We had an amazing experience! Our server was very attentive and went that extra mile to make sure we had what we needed! Their bread was baked to perfection and the meatballs melted in our mouths. This was my second time at Zi Marie's, and it was really nice! The restaurant is located inside a small mall. There are some tables set up outside the storefront for the restaurant diners. The service is friendly and helpful. Food came out fairly quickly as well. I got the lasagna dinner, it came with bread and a salad. The bread and butter was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! I also enjoyed my lasagna, was very cheesy and cooked well. My only comment would be it was a little on the bland side, however we were provided a small spice basket so I was able to add seasoning myself. My husband ordered the 14 inch calzone (it's huge, could be shared by two people), and he loved it! Finished every bite! read more

Last time my wife and I will go here for dinner, 26 April 2025. This evening the owner lost his cool and berated an older patron because the patron provided honest feedback on the service. In fact, it was the owner who asked for the feedback from the old man, and when the old man said that the "service is a bit slow", the owner became even more enraged and kicked the old man out of the restaurant. This happened around 7pm on 26 April 2025. It was an ugly scene. The owner is probably 15 to 20 years younger than that old man but the owner got Into the old man's face anyway. The owner was definitely trying to intimidate and scare the old man, simply because he didn't like the feedback that he himself solicited. Why would an owner of a business react like this after the owner himself asked for the feedback. I saw and heard the whole thing. The owner came running out of the kitchen and immediately got into the old man's face. Word has it that the old man had earlier asked a waitress if they were short on staff because the service was very slow, and it was this act of asking the waitress about slow service that set the owner off. I mean it was patently obvious that the owner was trying to intimidate the old man. Shame on Zi Marie's. read more

The food was catered for a barbecue at Silver Ridge Park West yesterday. I ate the grilled chicken, and picked at a piece of overcooked sausage (without the peppers and onions) and had nothing but heartburn and indigestion throughout the whole night. The only decent food that was served was the coleslaw and macaroni salad, which they ran out of halfway through. Needless to say, I was up most of the night feeling like I was going to throw up. To top it off, Umberto had words with a few of the residents in front of other residents in line, which were uncalled for and disrespectful. The best catering Is catering from your own kitchen. I'm very sorry to say, this was a really bad experience.I went in ,first time, this Wednesday. Had two amazing slices. Sauce was delicious, cheese was perfect, cooked to perfection. Today, Thursday, (next day) ordered a pie and a whole sub. This was a totally different pie. We couldn't even eat it, really. Sauce tasted like chef boy are dee, Cheese tasted like fake processed cheese product. Sub was one of the skimpiest subs I've ever had. Bread was at least a day or two old. I must say, we were actually depressed over this outcome. They are right around the corner from us and we like to support local businesses. Also, it would have been great to have great Italian just around the corner ! Definitely not the place ! I don't think any of the positive reviews actually ate this food. I ordered takeout. I ordered something hard to find. It was spedini with capers sauce. Best I have had in ocean county Matter a fact as good as New York City. I ordered pizza thin crust well done and it was made perfect. I saw spedini on facebook and had to try. You won't regret it read more

This place is dirty and disgusting! If you don't want to be sick then stay away. Its dirty, there is bad smell. I found a hair in my food and I saw the guy that makes the food touching it with his hands with no gloves after he touches other things. I even told them and they ignored. Ordered from here five times in the last three months. Three times the order was acceptable 2 times it was not with the most recent one being last week. This place seems to be inconsistent when it comes to anything other than pizza which I will say is really really good. However my last order what is listed as zeppoles on their menu was nothing more than pizza dough in powdered sugar and was absolutely disgusting. The sausage and pepper sub that I order the sausage was so dry and overcooked with barely any Peppers or onions that it was also unacceptable. I complained through the food delivery service that I ordered from they attempted on more than one occasion to have the owner partially refund me for the items. He refused to do so and wanted me to contact him to discuss the problem. This was the second time I had issues with the food The first time the owner refunded me and was supposed to send me some type of dessert sampler which never happened. This second time I was not about to debate back and forth with the owner about the unacceptable quality of the items. All done ordering from this place read more

I can only do my review on their pizza since I have not tried anything else there yet.I just learned of this place recently. The pizza I had was ok, could have been better, but definitely not the worse. The pie, sauce and cheese were good. My only complaint would be the outer crust. It was very hard and dry. I did not even wind up eating that part. If they could fix that I would then give them 5 stars. read more
