I was very happily surprised! I made the mistake of going to JOEY TOMATOES nearby last week. It was terribly expensive for what we got. The crust was overbaked and very hard to eat. The tomato sauce was from a can, I could tell. And, despite the fact I asked and paid for extra cheese, we didn't get it. Now to the good. Rosie's pizza reminded me of pizzas back in the day! They put on extra toppings, and tons of cheese! Loved their cheese. I could tell it was good quality! It was melted all over the pizza, and it truly was one of the best pizzas I've had in N.J. They kept our sodas filled, and were very nice to us. I recommend only this pizzeria, to be honest. Great food, great service, and reasonable prices. WE WILL BE BACK. Absolutely unreal pizza!! An important note - there was no pizza by the slice, which worked out for us as a group of 3 anyway. We ordered the 16" classic pie and were not disappointed. We found ourselves suddenly hungry after visiting a local craft fair. We dropped in and ordered a plain pie and some san pellogrino. It was ready in 8 minutes! The sour dough crust was crisp, the sauce sweet, the cheese perfectly melted and the basil fresh. The crust was lightly charred, just how I like it. This our third visit. This was place has a simple menu done to perfection. So far we've only had the regular pizza with sausage and tried a meatball just now both excellent. After seeing Rosie's featured on Barstool me and my boyfriend knew we had to made the trek out to try it for ourselves. We called ahead and ordered the famous round pie, half original and half sausage. The girl who took our order was so nice and let us know we could eat our pizza in the restaurant. There are only a few tables inside so on busy days I'm assuming it might be hard to find a spot. We were lucky and there was a table waiting (meant to be!). The staff were so friendly and even took a few pics of us with our pizza. Once the pizza came out I think my jaw literally dropped. It was gorgeous! The crust was perfect, with just a slight burnt spot here and there. The olive oil on top made it glisten and it was right out of the oven hot. Once I took that first bite the world kind of stopped for a second. This is the pizza people dream of (or at least I dream of). I literally had to savor that first bite moment (you know when you try something so good you realize how else will any other pizza compare). The crust was crunchy yet chewy, the fresh mozzarella gave it that saltiness, the basil was fresh, and the sausage was sweet. Absolute perfection. We had to give this spot a try because most of the other pizza in Point Pleasant has been a letdown (though Oakwood's plain pie was surprisingly delish!). We ordered a Round Pie to go, and the second that box hit the car, the aroma was unreal - rich, savory, and impossible to ignore. I had to threaten a lifetime ban on electronics just to keep my son from grabbing a slice before we got home. Once we opened the box, it was over. The sauce was vibrant and flavorful, the cheese was creamy without being overly salty, and the basil was perfectly tender and aromatic. The crust was thin, crisp, and slightly well-done - but honestly, it worked beautifully with the rest of the pie. Rosie's isn't just "another pizza place." The cheese round pie was pretty good but we thought that the arugula and mushroom pie was the better of the two. I guess we prefer toppings on our pizzas. Rosie's is not just good -- it is refreshing, in the way that a great meal can make you forget for a moment everything that's going on around you. I happened to be driving by and craving pizza after a long ride out to the ocean in the morning. Worked up an appetite for sure! Good thing I stopped by, pizza is good! Ordered a square and round pie. Both were very good but will definitely be back for the square pie! It's half the thickness of a old school NYC Sicilian slice but the dough has the right flavors.They have a light fluffy chewy well done crust. Flavors are good and the olive oil and garlic drizzle definitely gives it that extra flavor pizza always needs. Owner is super cool, will be back for sure! No no no - this place is TOO good for their own good. You have to call ahead to order a pizza because they run out of dough. I didn't believe the hype at first, but wanted to try it regardless. We called at 12pm to order, and got a square pie with ricotta as a topping. They do not have anything else on their menu at this time aside from pizza and I believe meatballs. Immediately regretting not ordering 2 after I hung up. It's expensive, and I don't like the non-accessibility of it ... but oh my god. Easily some of the best pizza I've ever had. They don't have tables inside, but there is a park not too far that we were able to eat at. I hope eventually things die down and they are able to offer eating inside, without having to order hours ahead. You've probably seen the Barstool review given here a few days ago. This also prompted me to head down to Point Pleasant to the this pizza! It's located about a mile walk from the Boardwalk, so you could make it a nice walk while you're down there waiting for your pizza. It is ONLY preorder by phone (you can pick a time if you call well in advance). There is no seating inside or outside available. A star is deducted for this. If I'm at the shore I'd like to sit at least somewhere to enjoy my piping hot pizza! We got the meatball pie, it was good, but not noteworthy. What an amazing experience I have have almost 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, and I'll tell you this is a special place. They use only the freshest ingredient the best cheeses the best olive oil they even sliced garlic paper, thin and put it on the pizza with fresh basil the service was spectacular. The young man that took our order was so accommodating and kind getting ice for my bourbon in a rocks glass, the owner was there introducing himself to all the people that were ordering takeout and sitting in the restaurant we had their meatballs as an appetizer they have the best sauce I have tasted being born and raised in the Bronx. I never thought I would have something special outside of the Bronx. It was spectacular. We ordered six meatballs and a quart of sauce to go.
