Had the worst experience I ever had a Zhang's. My wife and I had lunch the rice was just dry brown rice, no meat or vegetables, the noodles were noodles and onions, that's it, the bbq pork was sliced and reheated and as dry as shoe leather. I was so excited to go here as the first dining out experience after a life-threatening surgery, i was extremely disappointed. I love crispy noodle chow mein so i got so excited! Man, it was rough... i got sliced pork that was so tough i had to go to the dentist the. Next day... when i brought it to the waiter or " managers atrention, he yelled at the cook from the dining room to the kitchen and scolded him for the entire dining rooom to hear. , so embarrassing... when he came to our table, we explained and he threw his hands up, there's not much i can do about it and haned us the check, we reluctantly paid and got out of there! i'm gonna start with how bad the egg drop soup was also the tea came with no filter. All the herbs were just floating in the hot tea and the hot mustard tasted funny. My husband said it was horrible. The dinner was the worst I've had for a long time and I did not like the server. I remember when I thought this place was pretty good. Iv only had takeout so can't speak on dine in experience. I don't eat meat and it was difficult to find something that accommodated my diet on the menu. There is a "Veggie" section but the dishes are by no means vegan or even vegetarian. I had to ask a lot of questions on what specifically was in each dish. I ended up ordering the "Cashew Tofu" with no sauce (sauce has beef in it) and a side of the veg friendly white garlic sauce. It was very good. Much healthier with the white sauce and being able to put on just a little bit rather than having it doused. I will order this again sometime. read more

Chopstmix has always been our go-to for Chinese. Service has always been great however when we visited on 3 Jan that all changed. We were seated and then I guess they forgot we were there. After a length of time I motioned to one of the servers and asked if we could please get some service. He came to our table and acted like he was doing us a favor. We placed our order and advised him that we wanted it served family style. A few minutes later he brought out one plate. (there were three of us). He was advised that we needed two more plates. Found this place the kids meals are great their soup is tasty I recommend the sizzling rice soup specially when you're sick yum. Theirs portions are pretty good and we got them to go. We decided to give this place a try. When we arrived, there were several people waiting. I thought must be good. There was no host/hostess to be found. Soon people waiting in line left. We were finally taken to our table and asked what we wanted to drink. We had t even looked at the menu. So we ordered the Kung pao chicken and the shrimp in lobster sauce. One came with crab puffs and soup. Neither of the dishes had any flavor, they were very bland. There were six shrimp in the shrimp in lobster sauce. Although there was a good amount of chicken in mine no spice. The staff wi very slow and once you are served your main dish they are gone never checking back. Although this place is large either nice decorations, they were not very crowded. Some of the servers were walking around with earbuds in. We have had food delivered from Changs many times but last night was a bust! I had a shrimp dish that was supposed to be "flash fried" but it was so overdone, hard as a rock and inedible. My husband had salt and pepper chicken, it was also hard and overdone. So disappointing! read more

We've eaten here for many years....things are sliding downhill rapidly. General Tsos chicken has been chewy, last few times. Service was horrible...like the inmates are in charge of the asylum. I've always thought the food and service here were 5 star..... unfortunately not today. The soup and appetizers were lukewarm warm at best. So disappointed I sent them back. My meal wasn't any better. The sweet and sour chicken tasted like it had been precooked hours earlier and sat under warming lights. Then they dumped some sauce on old chicken which was tough, bland, and Luke warm. The rice tasted bland and was not anything like my previous visits. Our family has always had good service and the food has been good at Chop Stix until today. Our adult grandaughter ordered cashew nut shrimp #20 on the lunch combo plates menu and they brought her cashew chicken. When she asked them to bring what she ordered the hostess told us it was not on the lunch combination menu and briskly walked away. Their famous Chopstix fried rice was disappointing and tasted like the shrimp was a little off. The regular plain rice actually had a weird taste as well. They overcharged for everything, just because it wasn't dine in they charged for the wonton strips for the two large soups that's supposed to feed 4 people and they didn't give us ANY but charged for EVERYTHING that's supposed to come with it. Placed a pickup order on Monday, April 17th and overall, the food was underwhelming. Ordered their Shrimp fried rice, Chicken Lo Mein, and Crab and Cream Cheese Wontons. The shrimp fried rice was good. Plenty of shrimp and veggies in the dish, and a good quantity. Can't say I enjoyed the Chicken Lo Mein. The noodles were a bit dry and I asked for the dish to be a little spicy, but when I looked at the receipt, I saw that they made it the spiciest option. I would definitely not get this again as the noodles were just too dried. As for the wontons go, there wasn't any crab in them. All you could taste was the cream cheese and the amount of filling was very little. Considering I've gotten this before, I was a bit disappointed given the first time I tried them they were good. Overall, if i were to get food here, I'd get the Shrimp Fried Rice again. It's good and consistent, but can't say the same for the other items I mentioned above. read more

We've always had excellent service although they could hire more waiters and the decor is great. I would suggest some quiet oriental music myself but that's just me. I like Zhang's, I really do. In a city full of Chinese restaurants Zhang's sets itself apart in a few different ways. The menu is outstanding. In addition to the regulars (cashew chicken, Tso's 3-kind, etc) you will find a nice selection of items that you don't see every day. I've sampled the calamari steaks and they were fantastic. They offer something called a "bird's nest" which is, in essence, a large wonton shaped like a bowl and full of goodies. Try the seafood bird's nest, you won't be sorry. Their soups are fantastic and I am in love with their hot and sour that is truly hot and sour. The egg drop and crackling rice are above par as well. My favorite item at Zhang's? The Chopstix Rice. White fried rice, scallions, jalapeno, cilantro, pineapple, chicken, and shrimp. I actually crave this stuff. It works well for take out and reheats for a few days to cure the craving. Zhang's has a good beer selection and a limited wine selection if you care to partake at reasonable prices. read more

When I came here we ordered the calamari which for some reason is extremely over priced and they seem to keep raising the price on the menu as if they had a "Michelin" star. The last couple times I've come here, I've enjoyed my meal. This time I ordered the Shrimp Lo Mein. It was Valentines Day so they didn't have the lunch special as an option so I skipped the combo meal. My husband ordered the Mongolian Beef and Szechuan Chicken combo. His came with hot & sour soup, one fried shrimp and three crab wontons. He ate the soup and I ate the other extras. They had a special chocolate caramel wonton dessert for each of us that was yummy. I enjoyed my meal and ended up with takeout that made for two more meals worth. The atmosphere is very inviting here, but the only down side was the waitress just didn't seem friendly. She never really smiled or greeted us with a warm reception. She did an adequate job, but could have got a better tip with a little more effort. read more

Biggest complaint was their sweet and sour almond chicken, the chicken was so dry, and didn't feel fresh. Their famous rice dish was good and the noodle were good. Been here a couple times and ordered various things. This time around I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and it did not disappoint. It was cooked extremely well and all the ingredients really mixed well. The staff was super helpful and friendly and made sure I always had water in my glass. The time from ordering to food at the table was very minimal. Zhang's is slowly becoming my go to restaurant in the Ogden area due to their amazing selection of food. They also give you the option to substitute your egg roll for crab cheese wontons which is awesome. Every time I've gone up until this time I've substituted for the wontons but today I went with the egg roll and regretted it. Their egg rolls are just average but their wontons are amazing. She exchanged it after letting it be known with her icy stare and demeanor that she hoped I would soon die in a fireworks plant explosion. Got home the food is low quality and cheap. The gravy was bland, I think the "Omelet" was pre cooked and had a slight burnt taste. the eggs had almost no veg in them and tasted like it had breading in it. We ordered Sweet N Sour chicken and it was soooo different... salty and tasted like the oil was old. The batter was soooo different. The "nuggets" were very dark in comparison to what we're used to. I got more of a nugget vibe vs sweet and sour flavor. The fried rice was weird as well. An unusual flavor. Couldn't place it. Not like it used to be. I wonder if they are frying in old oil! Located in an old hamburger place. Totally decorated and nice decor of Chinese art, pottery and such. Very cozy seating. Large menu choices. Dinner combo is best deal on menu. Our party all ordered off the combo. Plates looked pretty good and service was great. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the spicy shrimp & cashew shrimp. Fresh, hot and really good. Everyone enjoyed their meals with no complaints. Price was around $14 per combo. Loads of food. Would recommend this place. Very typical of the better part of American Chinese. read more
