The food here was alright and I saw some things on the menu that I'm not accustomed to. I did like the decor, it was pretty nice. However, we came at dinner time and the place was completely empty. It felt pretty creepy, to be honest. Our waiter seemed nice, but he played around with his laptop at the bar instead of attending to us. I've been to this place twice and love their food. Granted, I've not had a chance to sample it all but I did a an appetizer of samples and that alone was enough for an entire meal for two! Very very tasty and filling too. The ambiance is great, upscale with rug type seaing cushions in the booths. It's quiet with no music most nights. I didn't find it very friendly though and that is odd for a small town restaurant that you'v been to more than once. The waiter was 'ok', just not really outstanding service. I think this is a great place to get mid eastern style food considering it's not in Dearborn. Good grapes leaves, shish ka bob and schwarma. Also great pita bread. I know it's Turkish and not Lebanese, but there's a lot of overlap and if you like Lebanese food, you'll like Zeytin. Easily one of the best meals I have ever had in the West Michigan area. I had the Lamb Hummus and it was so full of flavor and amazing textures that I thought I was going to cry when it was all over. The staff were all very attentive and the prices were very reasonable. The ambiance was typical if a nicer strip mall restaurant. I've eaten twice at Zeytin's with our party ordering lots of different entrees. So I've probably had or tried portions of at least six entrees and a few appetizers. The food is definitely above average but not quite at that "blow-your-socks-off" amazing level. Still, I like Zeytin's A LOT and I will be going back often - interesting food choices, consistently good tastes, reasonable prices, and all in a nice setting makes this place a real bargain. Al Fresco seating was a pleasant surprise. And we've never had to wait more than a few minutes which makes this place distinctly different from downtown GR. Contrary to popular belief, waiting in line for 60 minutes does not make the food taste better. ;-) What do I like about Zeytin's? They are trying to serve authentic Turkish food, not some eclectic mix of flavors concocted by a drunken chef blindly picking items from his food pantry, i.e., you won't find lavender-encrusted tuna pan seared with Georgia pecans handpicked by wild monkeys and spritzed with Antiguan baby pear juice. ;-) You will find lots of marinade, spice, spinach, artichokes and of course lamb, beef, chicken and gyro. The herbed yogurt served with many of the dishes really IS outstanding and causes a synergistic flavor moment. YEAH - I love it when two or three tastes combine to create an inner-mouth explosion of flavor! Favorites so far? The Spinach Chicken was outstanding. The Lamb Shish Kebob was tender and tasty but truthfully, it tasted more like beef than lamb. I confirmed it was lamb so this was likely due to my dead taste buds. The hummus could be a bit spicier for my taste. The flatbread was judged to be OK but we sure ate a lot of it for just an "ok" taste/texture ;-) Service has been spotty. The first visit was very attentive. The last was very poor, even though we were one of the few parties in the restaurant that night. I think this was related to a single server having more fun with the staff than actually waiting the table. I hope it's due to a single person and not a cultural service pattern. What I really loved about the restaurant was the booth seating. The seats were made with Oriental textile and were super comfortable. The atmosphere was very warm. The food was also very delicious. I had the adana kebab, which I highly recommend. My fiance's favorite was the eggplant sauce they served for an appetizer. It was super yummy. This is a great restaurant for a date or even a working business lunch. Turkish food is difficult to find and authentic Turkish like this even harder. As the other reviewers have mentioned, start with the eggplant salsa even if you're not familiar with eggplant. It's incredible. The Iskender is not to be missed, better than any version I've had in Turkey itself. The salads are also delicious for those looking for a lighter meal. Special mention of the waiter/bartender Keith for exceptionally friendly and attentive service. Request him when you come in. One suggestion for the owners -add a bread/pizza oven if you have the space so that you can offer fresh pita prior to meals and Lahmacun as an appetizer. read more

Excellent food in this nice Mediterranean eatery located across from Amway in Ada. Full selection of all your favorites and nice wine menu to choose from. They also have a happy hour until 6 which includes reduced prices on appetizers and drinks. I had a few of the appetizers including the dolmas and the eggplant salsa..both were very good. For the main dish, I had a chicken dish(cant recall the name) which was full of flavor. Give this place a try if you are in the Ada area. read more

çok güzel ! Nice restaurant with domestic and Turkish beer (I love the Efes Dark Lager). The menu has enough variety for everybody. I had the Zeytin special, that has several samplers of meat. I would say the food is authentic enough, maybe in Turkey the have smaller portions,more vegetables and less meat. Chai (Turkish tea) was exactly what you get in Istanbul. Good service, the waiter was helpful and talkative. Didn't give the fifth star because they don't have pide in the menu, but I can understand why you don't put poor food in a nice restaurant. I really like the food here. You get a full plate with a cabbage salad, meat or main dish, and yummy rice -plus pita bread and salty black olives are served as an appetizer. Zeytin has excellent food! Good portions and fair value. We also got great service. What separates this from a 5star review is the ambience of the new restaurant. The old restaurant was Turkish with hookahs and painting and traditional "mom n pop" accoutrements on the walls. The new location is basically Chili's. Large, open, loud, dozens of 65" TVs turned to sports and no artwork to speak of. Generally people go to places like Zeytin's to get away from corporate cookie cutter soulless restaurants but it turns out Zeytin's sold their sold with the rest. Horrible is how my wife described our experience. It took at least 1.5 hours for our food. We were there at 6pm on a Saturday evening. The place seemed way understaffed. Our waiter was overwhelmed and forgetful. I found the appetizer sampler rather bland. My meal was delivered warm but definitely not hot. Also value for money was slow. I would not return. It was a pretty disrespectful customer service experience... beside being overly obnoxious, one of the girls actually interrupted our server and asked him to come over and answer a "menu question" while he was taking our order. We really enjoyed the food here once we finally got it. When we ordered, our server Garrett let us know it would be 10 minutes longer than normal for the lamb shank. An hour later, our dinner was served. I can't imagine that 50 minutes is normal. What's worse is that he avoided our table like the plague. We sat without refills for over 30 minutes. Never apologized and never gave us an update on what was going on. To us, the poor and slow service will keep us from coming back. My wife and I eat here quite often and the food (everything) is outstanding. Their chicken kabobs are so tender you can cut them with a fork. We've been eating at Zeytin for more than 6 years and the quality of the food is consistently...wow. If you get H.K. as you server, ask him what he recommends. He knows the food better than anyone. If I could give zero stars, I would. I have NEVER experienced such a horrible dining experience. The ONLY positive part of our meal was the food itself. On one of the busiest restaurant/dining weekend of the year (mother's day), we experienced horrible customer service and I still cannot get over how we were treated. After ordering and receiving appetizers, we patiently waited for water refills and more pita bread...for 45 mins... We finally went to the back to ask someone for some refills. Waters were topped off, but no pita. More waiting... 10 more mins and we asked what was going on with our food. Other smaller tables around us had come and gone, while our table of 10 waited. No apology, no waiter to check on needs, no explanation...nothing. After a full hour and 15, we ask AGAIN where our food is. We are told it's on its way and that it's a busy night (even though there were about 10+ open tables in the restaurant!) and that they only have two cooks. We saw one of the cooks come out and just look around. When he saw us, he asked us how things were and we told him we were still waiting for our food! He then "rushes" back to the kitchen. Still more waiting, no apology, no refills...nothing. Right when we are about to leave, our food comes out. The meats are lukewarm, but at least it tastes ok. Our whole party is annoyed at this point. Our waiter finally shows up with a dessert, says sorry, puts the dessert on the table and walks away. Even if I wanted to order a drink, I never got the opportunity because we never saw our waiter! Overall, I think we were most annoyed that there was no explanation/apology for the delayed food until AFTER the food was served. The manager came out and was combative and argumentative, which resulted in making the whole table even more upset and angry. We were trying to celebrate our precious mother and the manager actually made her cry! We were charged a full bill for the meal with no discount for our horrible experience. It is unfortunate because we specifically chose this restaurant due to previous visits from members of our party. Visiting from out of town, we were limited on how many times to go out to eat and we unfortunately wasted it on this place. I will never go back unfortunately. After hearing a lot of good things about this place, we brought a group of 13 and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. The service was ok but we were involved in conversations so it wasn't as noticable but the check collection process took forever. That shouldn't take away from the food which was great. The place was packed for dinner on Saturday but only had to wait 5 minutes at the bar until we got sat. The place is clean and cozy despite its strip mall location. The Turkish beer Efes is a cold, crisp Pilsen and a great way to start the meal. Apps: The flaming Saganaki cheese appetizer had all the other diners ooohing and ahhing and wondering if the place wasn't about to go up in flames! Order the cheese, it lives up to the hype! The Shepherd's salad is fresh and much better than leafy salads. The hummus was disappointing as was the bountiful COLD bread. My brother and friend devoured the seasoned chicken liver (I personally don't like liver but it looked good). Entree: I ordered the $20 combo entree in order to sample their kabobs. It's plenty of meat! I liked all the kabobs except the gyro. The best in my opinion was the kofta. It was spicy, crisp on the outside yet cooked perfectly inside. The gyro is the typical processed gyro meat you can find anywhere else, it's not house made Doner (I asked). The lamb chops are very tender (we asked for them to be cooked medium) with most of flavor coming from the meat and the salt... simple but delicious. Sides: The meal comes with a good portion of moist rice and tzatziki but the "turkish cole slaw" was nothing but shredded cabbage with a drizzle of some Italian like dressing. What is supposed to be a salad is more like a cheap plate filler. Service: The server was polite and helpful. He didn't move very fast but neither was he in a hurry to get us out of his section. Except for a few downers I give the place four stars for the kabobs, saganaki , and beer. read more

Zeytin provides two of my favorite meals. The Gyro meat, whether on a salad or a meal of its own, is always fantastic. When I am in the mood for eggplant, I know it will be tender and flavorful. They accommodate me when I ask for substitutions too. Their house wines are excellent and pair well with the food. Where should I start. My husband and I went to Zeytin's on a Friday around 7 because Vitalies wait was too long. We waited a few minutes for a booth even though there were many open tables (we like booths). When we sat, the host brought us water and cold pita bread without saying a word to us. We munched on the cold bread for 10 minutes without menus wondering who our server was. We noticed a few male servers joking around with each other, chatting ect.. Then, another couple came in, they were sat, given menus and their drink orders were taken. We were thinking, "okay, this is getting ridiculous" and told each other that if our server didn't show up in the next few minutes, we would leave. Finally after being there 15 minutes! he showed up...and it was one of the young males servers that we saw chatting, laughing, wasting time and ignoring us!! We ordered an appetizer and drinks right away because we thought at that rate, we probably would not see him again for a while. We were right. The drinks took waaaaay longer than they should have, because I literally watched him go around a talk and joke with the other servers before even putting our drink orders in with the bartender. When he brought the drinks, we ordered our dinners. The appetizer (calamari) finally came out after 20+ minutes and it was fantastic! It took a while for our dinners too and when he came to our table to serve our dinners, he had 3 in his hands, put my husbands dinner down in front of him and walked away! We both looked each other like WTF just happened?! A minute later we flagged him down and asked where MY dinner was, he looked very confused and said "OH! you ordered another dinner??" I said " YES I did!, the Iskender " , he then went into the kitchen and brought my dinner out right away (thank the heavens!) and he said "I forgot about it, it was just sitting there". Now, I have to say...the food was so delicious....so very good! BUT, we couldn't tell our server that it was great, because he NEVER CAME BACK to check on us! My water was empty for most of my meal also. Finally, he brought the check...that was how I got his name, because he never told us his name... GUNEY, good Lord, if you go there and get this young man, RUN!!! I can say this, the food was very tasty, THE SERVICE WAS THE WORST SERVICE WE HAVE EVER HAD (and we go out to eat A LOT!!). We were probably there twice as long as we should have been because of the terrible service. The only thing we could think of as to why GUNEY even has a job there...he must be related to the owner or something. There is NO WAY he cares about his job in the least. All he cared about way farting around with two of the other male servers...like a bromance, or like they were all hitting a bong in the back parking lot instead of tending to their tables. Visited again, and was very pleasantly surprised. We started with our favorite saganaki, and enjoyed a Turkish tea. I ordered the lamb chops, which were very tender and incredibly flavorful. I'm not sure what the seasonings were, but it was so good I was tempted to lick the bones to taste more! My husband got the Zeytin special, which is a meatlover's paradise.
