I was so excited when I learned an Olga's was 10 minutes from where I was working today. I had to go visit on my hour lunch break. Just 10 minutes down the road is a relatively new looking building where I was greeted by a hostess that took my order at the front and brought the food out to where I sat down (similar to Culver's). I found a clean looking table and admired the open kitchen, where I could watch employees assemble my order of all you can eat snackers, Olga's salad, and peasant soup for $10.99. If you've never eaten at Olga's before, the snackers are a must. They are delicious triangular wedges of Olga bread that are seasoned with paprika and other yummy spices and served with a heavenly soft almond Swiss cheese mix for dipping. The Olga salad is mainly iceberg lettuce, but the dressing and toppings are top notch. I appreciate the Kalamata olives and onions. The choice of soup was broccoli cheddar or peasant soup. I enjoyed the peasant soup, a mix of ground beef and lamb in a tomato based broth with vegetables mixed in. However, the snackers are, and always will be, the star of the show. I washed it all down with a cup of water and the front even checked on me once to see if I needed a refill of any of the food items which I appreciated. Overall, this place was clean, well run, and the employees did a nice job. I'll definitely return the next time I'm working around NW GR. read more

I couldn't believe how terrible the quality of food has become. It 'use' to be a go to place when my family came to visit but sadly no more. It was aweful! Me & the rest of my family will NEVER be there again. It was $56 for 3 people drinking water. Since it is now self serve and no waitstaff taking your order the ambiance is fast food atmosphere. Stick to the original menu items and you shouldn't be disappointed too much. I love the Olga's original. However the curly fries were over cooked and over salted. And I absolutely love the drink options like the Hibiscus tea, etc. I got the trio and it little meat. It is on me that I picked the coconut rice again as it tastes great just too spicy for me. I haven't been to an Olga's in years! When I heard they put an express location on Alpine I was so excited to try it again, and my husband & I have quickly become obsessed. For being a "fast food" option near us the food is so much fresher and healthier than other fast food. We haven't dined in yet, but I appreciate that the place is always clean, well lit, and inviting. It's also nice that they have an area right up front for online orders and food delivery drivers (pictured). My husband really likes the Olgas 'sandwiches'. They aren't quite enough food for him, so he usually gets a side salad or curly fries. He's tried 3 or 4 of the Olga's now and has been very satisfied. I love the spinach pie, though its usually soggy by the time I get it home. I like to re-heat it in the oven for leftovers to crisp the phyllo dough back up. I also enjoyed the white bean chicken chili. I usually prefer a little spicier, but it was still tasty. I really liked the Honey Bourbon Salad with Chicken. I had it without the dressing (I don't care for salad dressing). It was a really good size salad, and had a good amount of chicken, bacon, and the rest of the toppings. I will absolutely order this again! No pic, because I ate it too fast! I am also extremely pleased with the level of customer service from this location. In one of our pickup orders I didn't realize until I was all the way home that they had left out my husband's Olga. We called the store and were right away given to a manager. She offered us a couple of options to make it right, understanding that not everyone wants to drive back out to the store to pick up what was left out. We ended up with a coupon code emailed to us that I was able to use on our next visit. I appreciate that she wanted to make it right, and provided a couple of solutions, letting us pick what was most convenient. My only gripe about this location is that they don't offer all of the menu items posted on the main Olga's Kitchen website. The fried chicken Olga and sesame grilled chicken Olga both sound so good, but aren't available at this location. Bottom line: I'm so happy Olga's opened this express location on Alpine! I've already picked up 5 or 6 times and anticipate MANY more visits in the future. read more

The food that was on the original Olga's menu at the Woodland Mall was so much better than the garbage served at the "new" Fresh Grille on Alpine Ave. I ordered a large basket of the snackers, and they were burnt to the point of being black. The soup is watery and tastes like it's from a can, and nothing like what the restaurants used to serve. Staff here is stupid (could not count change back from a $20 bill) and lazy (cannot check orders, which is how I received a take-out bag with missing food and burnt snackers.) Management is whatever twenty year old is on shift for the day. Total joke. read more

I've been going to Olga's in Detroit area since the 1980s. This new location in Grand Rapids area is a huge disappointment. I was surprised that you walk up and place and pay for your meal then take a number and find a seat. Unlike other locations. All the food was served at once. Whereas other locations you would get the soup and salad, then later your sandwich. So the sandwich was cold by time I finished the tiny cup of soup and tinier salad. I've ordered the Trio combo before, and the portions weren'tthat small. You are served with real plates/bowls, but you have to use plastic utensils. Not a fan. I will not return. read more

I have to be honest because I always am. This food was horrible! I got the chicken Shawarma added to a Greek salad. The salad had three tomatoes three olives, barely any feta cheese and bad lettuce. a The chicken was like something I've never tasted before. The girl that took our order at the counter was great. I asked her if this was a chicken Shawarma, and she apologized and said no. When she took it back to the kitchen, the lady took the same chicken and threw it on the grill and added some seasoning to it. That made the chicken dry. It was really bad. If you were expecting anything similar to Greek food, this is not the place. The chef was a young girl, who clearly does not know how to cook. A waste of money! Service is pretty bad, 20 minute wait and 1 of the 4 orders came out. Nothing is timed together. Sandwich came before snackers! High hopes followed with disappointment. It was just before 2 pm and I popped in here for the first time since I was in the area and always enjoyed the mall location. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff but the food was terrible. I honestly felt like I was coming down with COVID per not being able to taste anything. I got the chicken shawarma wrap, fries, and snackers. The fries, snackers, and chicken in the wrap all tasted bland and old like they had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. Then on top of that I got a Sierra Mist to drink and it was flat as well as the next two pops I tried. Terrible experience and won't be back unfortunately. Not fond of spending $20 on lunch just to throw my food away and eat elsewhere. No wonder no one else was eating here during lunch hour. read more

Longest wait ever. Placed a walk in order to go on 11:57, just got an olga, soup and fries. Receipt said a promised time 12:09. Food was not brought to us until 12:40. Food was cold. Major disappointment. read more

The team did an excellent job with only a few employees and a ton of customers. I've never had snackers come out of the kitchen so quick while they were still warm. The Olga sandwiches were delicious, and the service was incredibly good. You guys rocked it! I moved out of town several years ago and always have to get Olga's when I visit. Internet booked my family's dinner for a pick up at 7:15, but didn't receive my food until 7:32 (picture included with screenshot of time the food was received in my hand on top left corner.) I arrived at 7:12 announcing my name for pick up. The waitress did mention there were some working on it. Fine, I was a couple mins early. I went back to sit in my car with my kids and seen a couple people pick up orders. I went back in 7:22pm and the waitress came to explain more about why the food isn't ready yet, but because she wore a mask she was so muffled I couldn't hear her reason properly. I didn't want to be rude to ask her to repeat herself five times either. Whatever the case, I waited, and brought my hungry son inside to help me carry the bag of food out. Only then did I feel like they had a sense of making food because there's a child. I had three children hungry from after school games! If I wanted my food at 7:30, I would've selected 7:30! I selected 7:15pm. The business wasn't busy either, but full staff. Only two or three tables dining in. When I finally received my food, I then finally asked her what the problem was that I received my food 17 mins later than my selected time. My fries were cold!! My kids couldn't eat the fries, they were overly salty, so were the zucchini fries. The pita snack are my favorite and the best, but were horrifically cold and hard as rock, how sad! They pretended like I was getting hot food while I was waiting, but everything was cold when I checked the food at home ten mins later. A pizza can still be hot and warm when you pick it up yourself! I never got an apology for the wait from wait staff or main kitchen lady because she stared pretty hard. I don't recommend them. Didn't like the vibe from staff. In the trash my food goes.
