    Chicken Shawarma Sandwich
    Kyle V.

Wow, what a hidden gem. Everything on the menu sounded so good but I opted for the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich and fries. It was honestly the best chicken shawarma I've ever had, and that's not even a joke. The flavors were so delicious and the seasoned fries were the perfect side. It took about 15 minutes to arrive which seemed a tad long since I was the only person there, but it was so worth the wait. The staff was all so friendly and the dining room was very clean. This strip faces away from Alpine so it's a tough spot to be seen, so go give them a shot!

Had to try this place after hearing about it online. Don't let the hidden location fool you. This is an amazing authentic restaurant with delicious kabobs and fresh salads. Everything we tried was outstanding. The spices were perfect, the meat was tender, the falafel were perfectly crisp and the lentil soup was just like the way mom used to make it. Service is friendly as you can imagine and the prices are very reasonable considering the amount of food you get. If you have not been there yet, go try it. In my opinion, this is a true hidden gem.

The grape leaves were incredible. I really enjoyed everything, if anything it was too much food. Will be coming back.

    Beef and lamb Kabob entree

Stopped by while traveling for work. Owner was very friendly. Tried the lentil soup, Urfa Kabob with baba ghanoush and pistachio tiramisu for dessert. A ton of flavor and solid portions on all items. I'll be back. Nice little seating area to sit and noticed several take out orders while being there. Highly recommend!!

Oh. My. Heavens. For…read morethose that don't know, I will only leave a review if I'm extremely impressed or very disappointed and dissatisfied. I'm a huge snob, even when it comes to dive restaurants. I have resolved to only write positive reviews on places that I believe truly deserve the praise they have earned. This is one of those places. This joint is completely unassuming. Sparse decoration, low drop-tile ceiling, brightly lit (too bright for your usual Mediterranean joint), HDTV menus near the front register... But, does a restaurant need anything other than a great menu and delicious, freshly prepared, well-spiced fare to be an amazing experience? I answer loudly "NO!" This restaurant is wonderful. They serve some of the best Mediterranean food I've had, and I've been many places throughout the US and internationally. Finding this in my own back yard makes me so happy to live in GR. My wife and I split the spicy feta fries, which neither of us could stop shoving in our mouths. Now, a bit about me - I survived a massive heart attack five years ago. Five bypasses. Month in a coma. Six months learning to walk again. I SHOULD NOT BE EATING FRIES!! And yet... I couldn't help myself. Each bite was perfection in crispy potato form. And a heavy garlic presence. The toum is worth it. Completely worth it. Gives Sheshco a serious run for best in town. Not greasy or too "mayonnaise-y." She had the shish tawook ("chicken kabob") and I had a gyro pita. Her chicken was stunningly tender and temptingly well-seasoned. Rice was floral and delicious. Hummus, not quite garlicky enough, but smooth and refreshing. And the Nutella cheesecake was heavy and smooth and wonderful. My gyro was obviously done in-house, same as the pickled turnips ("liyft"). love pickled turnips, and I truly believe that these aren't the commercially available jarred ones. Gyro meat was well-spiced, perfectly tasty and amazingly tender. The service was warm and friendly. Wife and I will be back again...and again. We hope to see you there!! Worth a drive and some time. Bring an empty tummy and get ready to enjoy!!

I've tried a handful of places around town, and Sheshco has been the most consistent and fresh for me! My go to order is a chicken shawarma sandwich, a side of fries, and a small fattoush salad. Literally so yummy! The portions are good and I think the prices are fair as well.

Upon arriving, they greet you with a basket of warm fluffy pitas, and a zippy plate of toum (garlic dip). (This may be the best part of the meal honestly...drool...) I try to mix up my order to experience different things, but it's always a tough decision. This last visit I got the sampler plate which comes with hummus, baba ghannouj, tabbouli, beef and chicken shawarmas, falafel, meat and spinach pies, meat and vegetarian grape leaves, and then a choice of sides--I opted for rice (which comes with slivered almonds) and a side salad with romaine, cucumber and tomatoes. The portion was massive, and all of the flavors were spot on. The pies are a softer dough, and the falafels are on the more dense heavily spiced side, so keep that in mind depending on your preferences. My dad recently tried the David Basha (ground beef balls with tomato and mushrooms), and he remarked on how well spiced the mushrooms were and offered me some tasty morsels to enjoy. Sheshco previously has also been defined by their attentive service as well. I gather we've interacted with Robert quite a bit (based upon other reviewer's identifications), who does a wonderful job of making you feel like family. My last visit the service was a little more sporadic, but the staff was dealing with a very large (seemingly inconsiderate) table, which I think impacted things unfortunately, so I'm not counting it as a negative. Finally, I'll just note that the portions in general are very generous. A plate for one can actually easily feed two people, even with a good appetite, so keep that in mind when looking at the prices. It's good to share if you have a similarly oriented companion, but I do wish sometimes they offered a smaller plate at a lesser price point. But as my family says, I wouldn't mind if there were leftovers....

Came in this evening to get some dinner that wasn't a burger or pizza. It wasn't our first time and we were greeted promptly by a staff member. We talked for a moment while we looked at the menu which he told me was updated 3-4 weeks ago. Long story short, I ask if I can order some single items off the "extras" menu to put together some food since they got rid of their old platters and beef kabobs. Of course, they say yes and after a few more minutes of discussion, we put in an order and have a sear. 10 minutes later, our food is done and the staff member brings over our food. I say thank you and we head out. Once we get outside, I make the comment to my wife that the bag feels SO light. Once in the car, I hand it to her, and she agrees. We get home and open the bag (it's stapled at this point) to start unpacking - the portion sizes were ridiculous. So ridiculous in fact that I threw each container on the food scale to see how bad it actually was. Spoiler alert: inconsistent portion sizes, incredibly small for the cost, and not even what we expected to get. Photos attached - 2x 16 oz. rice orders, one 10.19 oz and the other 11.75 oz., 2x beef shawarma orders, one 4.13 oz., the other 2.68 oz., and finally, 2x chicken tawouk, one 6 oz., the other 4.37 oz. Total price, $33'ish dollars for two portions about the size of a Panda Bowl. So, I called the shop - the same person who rang us up and brought us our food picked up the call. I explained the issues and he was receptive. He apologized and asked what he could do to make it right. He also said that the portions are packaged off site (I assume at their other location) so it sounds like they just reheat precooked food vs. actually prepare it fresh. I told him that I appreciated the gesture but we wouldn't be back - the cost, the portion size, and now knowing it's essentially reheated leftovers is enough for me to drive a bit further, save a couple bucks, and have an actual meal.

We were instantly greeted and everyone was very friendly. The menu is kinda intimidating with so many options and everything having unique names. The staff said they'd help us walk through it all, which was helpful. There are literally 26 different things you can add to your order. My wife ordered a bowl and I order a pita, which they call a "sandweech" for some reason. The portions were large but it somehow got pretty pricey, even though I felt their menu was very reasonable. We each added a fountain drink and then I asked for a side of garlic, assuming it would come with a bunch of pita bread to dip. They asked if we wanted chips or pita, and we said pita. We got 1 piece of pita to share and basically a tub of garlic. It was comical and disappointing. I'm not sure if this is normal or we needed to pay for more pita. We each had half of a pita to dip in a jug of garlic. Overall, the food seemed fresh and it tasted great. The dining area was very clean and the parking was simple. Our only complaint was the side not coming with more pita. After looking at the menu from our table, I realized they could have made ours both a combo, since we ordered drinks and one side, and we could get another side as well, but they never suggested that. We'd probably come back in the future but there are a ton of pita places around town, especially locally owned options.
