What's kinda crazy is that the pricing here feels on-par if not just as expensive as whole foods but since there aren't many options in the area for groceries, it does what it needs to do. Some of our must-haves whenever we shop here are the rock-it apples and their jalapeno cheddar bagels and jalapeno cheddar sandwich rolls. Their hot food is actually pretty solid. You can get a family fried chicken meal for $25 or if you are wing person like myself, the salt and vinegar wings are a solid snack to have at the house. The alcohol is a little bit on the expensive side, but at least the selection is pretty solid. We've come here a lot over the years and it's never super busy. Definitely need to be part of their rewards program because that's where the deals are. Plenty of parking as well, makes this a super convenient supermarket to shop at.

This store is disgusting. Save- Mart should be ashamed. Where to start…read more.. Men's room is falling apart. Door on stall falling off. Soap dispenser never has soap which tells me the employees are handling food without washing their hands. I've seen both men and women employees enter and exit the restrooms in their aprons....blah... The floor is coming up near the meat area. Some of the shelves are stained with liquid. Every time I'm there they have some sort of "line crisis" and backed up checkout lines. I could go on but don't have all day.... This is by far the most rundown, pathetic Save-Mart I've ever been in... I guess corporate figures we're not entitled to a nice store here.... We'd rather drive to Stockton Safeway than shop here... Zero stars if I could God Bless

Even though it was late on a Tuesday the patio was still busy. We got a nice table outside because it was a beautiful day and we had our GSD with us. Shared the beet salad and the chicken burrito and also a kids hamburger with fries for the pup ( fries were for us). PROTIP: We took the option to split each dish by the kitchen and although it cost a couple bucks more, you get a little more of everything! Beet salad was solid with perfect allocations of all ingredients. I would say it was a bit heavy on the dressing but I like minimal dressing and my partner said it was perfect so there you go. The burrito was "wet" and delicious! Lots of flavor fresh ingredients and very saucy. Only thing it lacked was a little heat. Ask for tapatio if you like a little spice. The hamburger by the way, was larger than a normal hamburger you get on the kiddie menu. And the fries were piping hot and fresh. Our dog loved the burger as he should and we downed all the fries. Highly recommend and will be back!

Funny and recommended great options Food was delicious! Wish I had photos but was so immersed in what we had and the company! For sure I know we order for appetizers: Crispy Calamari: 9/10 seasoned and tastes very light! Red Thai Curry Coconut Mussels: 10/10 coming from a SE Asian background, flavors are authentic Entrees: Unsure of what we ordered but we definitely had the elk medallions which was delicious! Loved the services, vibe, food and good strong drinks! Cannot wait to go back on our annual trip!

Let's be honest, I go on deployments for the food. Where else can you get a sack lunch with a full…read moreday's worth of calories??? And you can eat it all guilt free for the good of the fire fight. Initially I had quite a few logistical concerns with the setup of the MKU at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds. Located in dusty Monkey Barrel Flats, diners were paraded first through the salad and condiments, then to the hot food. No one should have to commit to salad BEFORE looking at the hot choices. And you certainly shouldn't have to put salsa on your plate before you get your eggs. Fortunately the entrance and exit were quickly flip flopped. Other improvements included an "inmates only" section of the dining area and a marked increase in "no weapons" signs, which appear to serve as the ONLY decor for the entire facility. When the MKU first opened at fire camp, it was THE PLACE to see and be seen. Lines snaked through camp and people were waiting hours for their food. Luckily, resource reassignment and demobilization has led to more reasonable wait times. Now for the part you have all been waiting for and I have been dreading, the FOOD. It's terrible. They are serving all of America's favorites-- hamburgers, steak, ribs, chicken fried steak, bacon. Unfortunately all of those animals are dying in vain as the preparation of said animal flesh appears to make them completely unpalatable. As a pescetarian I can not personally comment on the meat choices, however the vegetarian options are equally as dismal. Stuffed shells should NOT be crunchy! And where do powdered eggs come from? (definitely Google "chicken reproduction", it is fascinating) The salad bar is pretty predictable, and a great choice if you love bacon and cheese. The ultimate offense was when they ran out of cereal at breakfast, but I commend their quick resolution of this travesty. The MKU is run by inmates, who have proved to be one of the highlights of the facility. It took a week to teach them what "no meat" meant, but they are finally predicting my dietary desires now before I even request it. They also offer suggestions on the best cereals ("nothing beats Cheerios with a sugar packet") and desserts ("all the pre-packaged choices are AMAZING"), not to mention the sommelier who recently recommended the new Mango Snapple from the tub-o-drinks. I have also very much enjoyed their commentary on the fashion choices of their patrons. A fantastic experience overall, in spite of the food. I will DEFINITELY be coming back.
