For drinks we tried the yuzu margarita and the aperol pineapple- mine with vodka - so yummy and tasted like an adult version of an orange Julius. For apps we shared the fried cabbage- coated in miso butter and cheese. This was unexpected but fresh and parked with umami flavor. Second, we shared the spicy pork spaghettoni - a must try. Overall a great spot and can't wait to revisit one day, I'm sure it will only continue to grow in popularity.

We knew it was going to be hot, but they need more or stronger fans. That covered patio blocked ANY breeze and we were meltingggg the whole time. They brought out carafes of chilled water and small glasses, but no ice so there was no real way to cool down. They also had someone bugging patrons for money off the street who they had to ask to leave at least 5 times. This was very uncomfortable and distracting. Our server was very chill and nice, but we were a bit put off when she watched a huge fly dive into my almost full drink and start swimming around. I asked for a replacement, but she kept saying another and charged me for both. She was also frequently absent as we ran out of water repeatedly. Thankfully another server brought us what we needed. If we did go back, we would try for an inside resy.

But people from other parts of the country, primarily may associate CHS with Low Country food like Shrimp & Grits, Fried Green Tomatoes and She Crab Soup. I didn't see any of these traditional Low Country dishes on S&S's menu. I did see (1) Carrot Bolognese, (2) Green Curry Cauliflower and (3) Seared Yellowfin Tuna with cashew tahini. S&S is a modern, creative, vegetable and fruit-focused Shareable Plate restaurant. A cool take on Farm to Table. You'll also find some seafood, chicken and meat dishes. It was so hot during our visit, that an imaginative menu with lighter high quality ingredients was welcome. My wife and I tried: Grilled SC Peaches with watercress and vinaigrette Watermelon with pickled rind, feta cheese and a vadouvan vinaigrette Gem Lettuce Salad with Maple Tahini, pistachios and pink peppercorns ‍ Chantrelle mushrooms with SC corn, black garlic and potatoes Free Range Chicken with an Ahi Amarillo sauce and cabbage Aside from the chicken, all of these dishes felt inventive and fresh. The plating was terrific. Lots of colors, shapes and textures. The flavors really popped. The stand-outs for me were the peach and watermelon dishes. The chicken was good too by the way. It was well cooked and had good texture. I wish the World had more restaurants like @sorghumsalt . It was a joy to eat there. Five Stars *Sorghum & Salt is not new in a technical sense. We came here as a group of 8 a few months back and there was nothing that we tried that we didn't absolutely love. We got a few of the snack plates, a few of the mids and a few of the larges and it was a decent amount of food for our group. Some of the prices caught us off guard (looking at you $16 singular scallop) but when food is good, it's good. We were a group split between locals and visitors and our friends from Charleston said this was a favorite spot for them. It's easy to see why. Go for a special meal and go with friends so you can try a little bit of everything.

The food was very good. I had the swordfish with German potato salad. It was really on a bed of rested finger potatoes with asparagus and awesome fixings. My wife had the flat iron steak and it was also delicious. Parking was a snap. Beer and wine very reasonably priced compared to other restaurants we've been to and drink prices were comparable to other places we've been to around $12- thank $14 a cock cocktail . Overall, I definitely come back here again with no problems and I recommend you check it out too!

Our table also got the meat board, pimento with bacon jam, and the crab and artichoke dip. I loved the mac & cheese and I'm convinced that if you put that sauce on anything it would be 10 out of 10. I also loved the crab and artichoke dip which is served with warm pita, however, there were mixed reviews at our table. The dip was very crab forward, and the artichoke was barely perceptible. The only criticism of the charcuterie was that there was small portions. The pimento and bacon jam is served with Ritz crackers and one's pleasant, but I felt a little underwhelmed. However, for one of the people at our table, it was the favorite. We sat outside in the covered patio area, and I was surprised by how loud the outdoor seating was. If you're sensitive to overstimulation, sitting inside in the air conditioning would be a much more quiet experience. The service was a little slow, but overall the experience was wonderful and the restaurant is located right next to the water. We were there on a weekend and it was busy even though it was in between lunch and dinner. Parking was hard to come by, but that's to be expected for this location.

We got the text that our table was ready at 6:40pm so quicker than expected which was nice. Upon arriving we got seats at the bar and can I say the service was exceptional. The bartenders knew everything about the menu and striked the perfect balance of letting us enjoy our dinner while also stepping in when they heard our questions. This Chicken Liver Pate was one of the best, most balanced, full of flavor appetizers my husband and I have ever experienced. All the accoutrements that went with it were perfect and the toast it came with were perfectly warm and toasted. Huge shout out to FIG bartenders/servers for their flawless service and offering us extra toast and accoutrements when they saw we had run out. Perfection! The crudo app was also tasty and while I enjoyed the flavors were more subtle so my husband thought the dish was a bit flat. This is probably not necessary to order. We ordered both the crab ravioli and gnocchi and both were absolutely fantastic. I loved the texture of the crab ravioli pasta and fresh flavors. My husband was obsessed with the gnocchi and loved how they were so soft and were like mashed potatoes. At this point we didn't think the meal could be topped with anything but the duck was seriously the best we had ever had. Sliced so thin, it was reminiscent of sashimi. We both agreed the dish was pretty perfect. I would say the duck is a must if it is something you enjoy. Finally, we finished with the dark chocolate budino and that was also delicious. Definitely thick and decadent but surprisingly not crazy sweet. The dark chocolate was a good balance to the caramel. Finally, vibe and ambiance were moody, a little loud but not crazy, and not too crowded when we came!

Nothing was wrong with it, but also nothing was THAT special. Also, we felt like the space is like a sound tunnel and it gets LOUD. I was having trouble hearing people on my table talk due to the higher than usual crown noise. Overall: It is a good experience, food is good , service is polite and cordial, but it was definitely not worth the hype and months of wait and anticipation. It is a good spot for an elevated dinner but, the hype it has been blown out of proportion.

Starting dinner off right with some deliciously fresh raw oysters complete with a traditional "onion" mignonette, and then Chef Eric brought out a little special treat....the base was fresh lump crab meat topped with some chunked watermelon and the most light, fresh, delicious dressing & crunch. WOW. I could eat that all summer. Moving onto the main courses, a perfectly cooked NY strip & root veggies with a love boat of fresh sauces. Chimi, steak butter, and a horseradish crema. As if the steak needed any sauce, but with that trifecta?? I couldn't help myself. Incredible. The other entree, a risotto and shrimp. Incredibly flavorful, complete with crisp English peas. As I write this, I wish I had another plateful. The bartender is the Chef's little lady, & she was a GEM! I cannot remember her name, but she goes to estate sales, and thrifts the beautiful dishes and glassware that they use in the restaurant, which I thought was so neat! These two truly have put their heart and soul into this little place and you can tell. The menu is of a smaller variety, but variety for sure. Chef Eric changes the menu up daily/weekly, so you never know what you may get, and I think that is honestly one of the best parts about this place. You can tell they care, from the food to the atmosphere they have created. This one deserves all the 5 stars.

First, we came a little early just to check out the scene and the managers/hosting staff were so kind and encouraging us to sit and relax at the bar before our table was ready. The bar had live music, the bartenders were fast and funny, and the drinks were Fantastic! We laughed and and had fun before the host came and Brigid to our table. Our waiter was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu, knew and acknowledged that we were celebrating our anniversary, and made sure to keep watch and check in throughout our time. The managers were all walking around and even gave us complimentary champagne and dessert to celebrate with us. So so fun and we were overjoyed! Outside of the service and ambiance, the food was top tier. My husband got the shrimp and grits (loved it) and I got one of their steak specials (kept me quiet as I dug in). We shared the okra, lobster Mac and cheese. So so so good. My pictures do not do anything justice because I definitely was more worried about digging in than taking pictures but we will definitely be back again and perhaps I'll get a better picture!
