What a gem! I stopped by Zen Tea on a Sunday afternoon. I had no idea they had hundreds of varieties of tea as well as a cute cafe. I ordered the best matcha latte I've ever had(almond milk and agave). I'd love to return to spend more time exploring their teas. Their pastries also looked delicious. We had macaroons. I'd like to try the quiche and scones as well. There is a patio outside with enough seating for 10-20 people on a nice day. Parking out back or on the street.

Cute place, they had a lot of different tea options which was really nice but taking off one star because I think it was overpriced and also there isn't any indoor seating! We ordered the tea and cream which comes with a medium pot and assortment of scones. Not enough food was given for $28. I think it is probably better off to just get a cup of tea and a scone!

Horrible service. Waited an hour for a scoop of chicken salad and crackers which never came and had to fight for a refund. Got our tea but was never offered a comp on it. Owner gave a shallow excuse and did it accept accountability for her employees rude and arrogant behavior. No Zen here! STILL NOT GOOD July 24, 2024 ..... After the response from the owner below, my opinion has not changed. The late offering of a gift certificate was never given willingly or sincerely. It was given to my girlfriend who notified me of it well after the fact and after I had posted to social media. She was accepting nothing less. I had moved on but this response is insincere as I look back through the other 1 star ratings and see your customer service is clearly lacking. Better leadership and training is needed befor any zen can be achieved.

I found this place after having High Tea at another business that use the tea from here. I found a gem in this place! They have such a huge variety of teas & they are all delicious. You will not be disappointed in anything you choose & the lady was very helpful in her recommendations. I will definitely be back to ZenTea. I am so glad I found this gem! The shop appears small but it is very roomy in the inside. Very nice atmosphere with great customer service.

Loved.This.Gem Location: We came when it wasn't super busy, so I don't know how easy parking would be all the time. Hopefully there's a parking lot in the back. Other than that, I liked the area. It was cute and quaint, just like the shop. Tea Varieties: Sheesh. Talk about a lot to choose from. The options here were incredible and I felt overwhelmed. I ended up buying two types (Chai Rooibos and Chai Pear), and I also purchased a tea to go. The Rooibos was out of this world. I got oat milk in it with agave. Talk about drooling while tasting something. Every time I took a sip I went "mmmm". My friend definitely couldn't wait for me to just finish my tea. Lol Would I recommend? I have already. Will I be back? Definitely!

Pastry case up front, tea selection on back wall

My friend brought here for my birthday and we had the loveliest time! Zen Tea is in a charming building with an awning over the front patio. (There are also tables in a garden behind the building but we didn't go there.) Due to covid there are no longer tables inside. Even though it was a hot day in August it wasn't really terrible outside, there was a large fan blowing and a breeze that kept us cooler. My friend and I decided to get the high tea for two. The women there (the owners?) were very helpful in helping us pick out a tea. We decided to try something new and ordered one of the dessert teas, caramel chocolate. It was delicious! So the pot of tea and cups came on one platter then we got a lovely second platter of six scones, assorted preserves and whipped cream. The scones were OUTSTANDING. Truly the best scones I've ever eaten. Not to be missed! They brought us small glasses of ice so we could turn our hot tea into iced tea, which I did after a few sips. There is an enormous tea list to choose from and also other eats: quiche, pimento cheese sandwiches, hummus, etc. Since I had not eaten lunch yet, I ordered the hummus. I received a huge scoop of hummus and a generous portion of pita triangles. It was more than enough for two. We walked around a bit afterwards. There is a great junk shop to the left of Zen Tea and beyond that a bar with a golf simulator. To the right is a casual restaurant with a blue roof serving burgers and sandwiches and beyond that a darling new boutique called Personify with the cutest clothes. On down a couple of blocks is Vintage Pizzeria (one of our faves) and the Frosty Caboose, an Atlanta institution for ice cream. Around the corner is the Crate & Barrel outlet. Go spend an afternoon in historic Chamblee! But make sure you don't miss Zen Tea, it is outstanding!

Lavender Matcha Latte with Soy Milk and Blue Agave Syrup

This cafe is so cute! I got the lavender matcha latte with soy milk and blue agave and it was delicious. Very creamy and smooth with good flavor. The ladies in the front were kind. I also like how they have paper straws instead of plastic . Highly recommend!

Zen Tea House serves more than 200 kinds of loose leaf & specialty teas plus light cafe fare in a serene setting in Historic Chamblee. Although the building appears small from the outside, it's actually very spacious. There's a few tables in the front patio, a few inside and a bar in the front room, there's also a backroom for large groups and they accept reservations. The front room is filled with tea for purchase and also other cool tea accessories. 200 loose leaf teas is a lot and there tea book is a couple of pages so I would recommend viewing the selection online prior to your visit. Three cafe also had a few items in the dessert case and cookies but I didn't see anything that looked appetizing. The scones and quiche looked old so I decided to pass although I really wanted something to eat. Too many teas to choose from so I went with my favorite, a Matcha tea latte. They import some of the finest Matcha from the Aichi prefecture in Nishio Japan.  The service was welcoming and my latte was delivered to my table. It was just the right level of intensity in flavor and just totally delicious. I think I'll do a tea tasting next time and use the Scoutmob deal.

Scones with clotted cream, lemon curd, preserves

ZenTea is a wonderful place to relax and try out different types of tea. They have an extensive menu of teas including black, green, rooibos, and white tea. I came here for their tea time which includes scones, clotted cream, lemon curd, fruit preserve, and 2 pots of tea. The scones were super delicious with the clotted cream. The curd and preserves also paired well with the scones and weren't too sweet which is great. The shop is super friendly and I love that they have a huge selection of teas that you can purchase and brew at home. They offer teas of the day that you can purchase per cup for around $3~. This place is such a lovely place to come for afternoon tea, and is an absolute gem for Atlanta!

This was the cutest place! My friend and I went on Saturday afternoon and we met the own. Very nice lady. She was excited to tell us about any of the teas we had questions about. The prices were good and we had the cutest little set up. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other teas.

I love love this place! It's a local, small tea shop. Parking is kinda limited but there's a few spots in the front & when facing the building, there are more spots to the left. This is a great spot for a date, for a party like a baby shower or other brunch activity. They have super fun tea classes like tea lattes we did one day. Connie is the owner and she's super sweet & knowledgeable. They have so many teas and pastries! They also have some sandwiches & maybe a couple other food items. We did the tea latte class & you get so much for it, like 7+ cups of tea. They've got over 100+ varieties that they carry in store so something for everyone. I got a peach pear white tea, Connie's choice, Coco rooibos and a few others. I've also tried apple pie blend from a few years ago and the wellness blend but that wasn't my favorite. Their matcha is also good. Price is normal. Teas normally have some kind of buy x number, get x dollars off discount, as well. They're like $6+ I think per 2oz bag.

    Three pots of tea
    Laura S.

My friend and I had a wonderful afternoon tea here! We got three pots of tea and 4 scones for about $15. There is a room in the back with comfy chairs and a beautiful atmosphere where you can sit and enjoy their tea. The tea was great, we had one black tea, one herbal tea, and one green tea. Three pots was about the right amount for two people. The scones came out hot and the woman behind the counter quickly delivered our food/ drinks to us! I really enjoyed the experience and the atmosphere, and would recommend this to anyone in Atlanta for an afternoon or morning tea!

The space is open, airy, and thoughtfully designed. I especially loved the seating layout. There's actually room to breathe. You're not crammed next to other tables or accidentally overhearing your neighbor's entire life story. Some cafes feel packed like sardines, but Kin does it right. They even have a cozy living-room style seating area that adds to the relaxed vibe. There's also outdoor seating, which would be perfect on a beautiful day. The latte I ordered was divine- smooth, balanced, and perfectly crafted. As someone who loves good latte art, Kin's baristas absolutely deliver. We were served the most beautiful swan latte art, which made the experience even better. Totally brewtiful! Everyone in our group loved their drinks. One friend mentioned their strawberry matcha is amazing, so that's definitely on my list for my next visit. Another thing I loved: they showcase work from local artists that's displayed and available for purchase. Love, love, love when cafés support local creatives. They also offer a few pastry options that could pair nicely with your drink. Will have to try that next time My only wish? That they stayed open later because I could easily see myself hanging out here all the time. If you appreciate great coffee, good and chill vibes, and cafes that really know their craft, definitely check out Kin Coffee. They even roast their own beans, which makes it a true coffee lover's spot.

I opted to park at the Wal-Mart and wasn't as familiar with the trail so I took the street route. Well-light and populated for safe crossing. The venue is very open and was relatively empty since we arrived shortly after it opened. I love the indoor seating concept with plenty of couches, movable chairs, tables near the open-area space and smaller sections for 2-4 people tucked away along the wall. The DJ was already doing his thing and the bartenders remained busy. As someone who wasn't interested in the drinks, I appreciate that there was a self-serve water cooler in the center of the room. The Jenga and jumbo Uno cards were a hit!!!! It was so nice to have these options available. And as others mentioned, the large screen was playing a classic movie - which we could still see from inside. I didn't stay long and this was a Sunday night but the parking lot was much busier when I left. I imagine the outdoor space gets crowded later in the evening as well. The DJ was just okay - not my cup of tea - but folks seemed to be enjoying themselves. I can definitely see why this place is popular. Although parking is less than desirable, it is not unreasonable. The venue is well-lit and easy to move around. The crowd was diverse, with various ages and backgrounds represented. And depending on the DJ, this would be a great place for meeting with friends, date night or just zoning out to some wonderful music ... especially on a beautiful night. For $26, I got a ton of food and 90% of it was absolutely delectable. And I say that with an 8-year-old in tow who enjoyed it too! Let's start with the never again item: the Flossy Bun. It's a popular Chinese pastry made with soft, sweet bread filled and topped with sweet and savory pork floss... allegedly. There weren't any descriptions, so I looked it up online. But let me tell you--no. Just no. I don't get how it's popular. Definitely a cultural preference, and it's not for me. I even paused mid-bite hoping I'd grow into the flavor. Nope. Then there was the Coffee Butter Cream Pastry. I thought at the very least my fiancée would like it since she enjoys coffee flavors. That was another miss. I even gave some to two little ones, and the faces they made reminded me of the time I tried canned octopus. That's how bad the flavor was. But now to the good stuff--because the rest? Fire. BBQ Pork Bun - Yummy! Not packed with meat, but enough to enjoy and super easy to pull apart. I really wish they offered a heated option for this, because that would've put it over the top. Japanese Milk Cream Bun - Super creamy. I do wish it had just a little more cream inside, but the bread was so soft and delicious, I honestly didn't care. Hot Dog Cheese Bun - I got this for the little one and I've never seen a child eat something so fast. I'm taking that as a solid win. Egg Tart - Grabbed this from the front warmer after watching another customer snag one. I had missed it earlier. Not totally my thing on its own, but when I got home and added a little chili paste? Devoured. Hong Kong Boba Milk Tea - I went with this instead of the brown sugar version and kind of regret it, but it wasn't bad at all. All in all, the prices are great, the flavors were mostly on point, and the man at the register was super friendly and open to answering questions. Yeah--I'm sold. Looking forward to coming back!
