Cool little space. Gelato, coffee, shakes, and a few other options. I ordered the orange passion fruit and lemon flavored gelato. It was refreshing and smooth. There were so many flavors that I wanted to sample. The gentleman was kind and let us sample a few. I did notice on the side where the flavors were posted were more flavors than you see behind the window. There is a decent amount of seating but they also stay pretty busy. Parking space can be limited.

The affogato with the stracciatella gelato was delicious. The service was fast and neutral...which worked well for me. I would definitely come back for the same thing.

Was super excited to try Freddo since it was my first time since trying it in Buenos Aires 10 years ago. They had the best gelato! There wasn't as much selection compared to the different shops I visited but it was plenty compared to places here in ATL. I wanted a dark chocolate but none that I tried were dark enough and everything was way too sweet compared to other ice cream shops...I ended up with the banana chocolate and raspberry. Raspberry was good as the acidity helped cut how sweet the banana was.

New gelato shop in Chamblee. Same complex as Real Taco and Lagarda. Friday night, so parking is tough, it's a "hot" area these days. Nice store front and interior, friendly, helpful staff. The two flavors I tried were packed with flavor and delicious. Two scoops in a waffle cone is $8.00. But I think the owners need to standardize the serving sizes. Not two scoops comparative to other gelatos and ice creams I've had elsewhere. They are new, so I will try again later, hope the serving size improves.

Seating and great conversation's with the owners!

We were able to try samples of the various flavors - my favorites being the banana split and the mascarpone.

The rolls are priced around $2.50 each and were soft and fresh. I went with the red bean bun and taro bun. Both were buttery and delicious, although they could use a little more filling. The store is small so there is more limited options compared to the larger bakeries, but I love supporting a smaller business and they still have a nice variety.

For $26, I got a ton of food and 90% of it was absolutely delectable. And I say that with an 8-year-old in tow who enjoyed it too! Let's start with the never again item: the Flossy Bun. It's a popular Chinese pastry made with soft, sweet bread filled and topped with sweet and savory pork floss... allegedly. There weren't any descriptions, so I looked it up online. But let me tell you--no. Just no. I don't get how it's popular. Definitely a cultural preference, and it's not for me. I even paused mid-bite hoping I'd grow into the flavor. Nope. Then there was the Coffee Butter Cream Pastry. I thought at the very least my fiancée would like it since she enjoys coffee flavors. That was another miss. I even gave some to two little ones, and the faces they made reminded me of the time I tried canned octopus. That's how bad the flavor was. But now to the good stuff--because the rest? Fire. BBQ Pork Bun - Yummy! Not packed with meat, but enough to enjoy and super easy to pull apart. I really wish they offered a heated option for this, because that would've put it over the top. Japanese Milk Cream Bun - Super creamy. I do wish it had just a little more cream inside, but the bread was so soft and delicious, I honestly didn't care. Hot Dog Cheese Bun - I got this for the little one and I've never seen a child eat something so fast. I'm taking that as a solid win. Egg Tart - Grabbed this from the front warmer after watching another customer snag one. I had missed it earlier. Not totally my thing on its own, but when I got home and added a little chili paste? Devoured. Hong Kong Boba Milk Tea - I went with this instead of the brown sugar version and kind of regret it, but it wasn't bad at all. All in all, the prices are great, the flavors were mostly on point, and the man at the register was super friendly and open to answering questions. Yeah--I'm sold. Looking forward to coming back!

The girl that got our ice cream was darling and so kind. She was the best! Made it an even better experience. I had rocky road (my favorite) and it was possibly the best I've ever had. And peppermint with real peppermint stick broken up in the ice cream. Really top notch with such creamy goodness. Ok now we are going to head over there and have it again!! Highly recommend!! It's also right on the train tracks so if you're lucky, you'll spot one passing by. I got the Chocolate Peanut Butter scoop in a cup. It's a chocolate base with clumps of peanut butter generously spread throughout. It wasn't the most amazing ice cream I've ever had but definetly fit the bill. It did however come in a generic styrofoam cup, which I feel is a missed opportunity to have some fun branding since their location is so unique. The worker was very polite, although she did have an AirPod in which was a little off-putting. The whole place was decked out in Christmas decor which was a fun seasonal touch. There's a parking lot attached that is quite large. If you're in the area, it's worth checking out.

Really great matcha soft serve! Not too sweet!…read more A little disappointed that the ube machine was out of order but I still enjoyed the matcha soft serve. We went pretty soon after they opened, so maybe they were still working out kinks with their machines as the 2 matcha soft serves we ordered were quite different. Both good, but not consistent at all. One was icier with stronger matcha flavor and was much darker in color. The other was smoother, creamier, less matchey, and lighter in color. I preferred the darker one with the stronger matcha flavor a tad more. Overall, I would recommend. Good softseve either way!

The designated parking lot is too small for the level of traffic they get, but you can easily park in the adjacent (and much larger) lot right next door and walk over. I'd say Matcha Cafe Maiko serves best as a grab-and-go, but there are about 10ish tables (only two being larger, 4-seaters iirc). I did see a high chair for anyone with babies. But I am not exaggerating when I say it can be really tight in there. I was there at 9PM when they close at 10PM and there was a line forming out the door with very few tables left. People seem to really like their matcha soft serve but I came to have their standard matcha. The first problem I had was that two digital menus advertised different prices. I asked the barista about it to which I was told they recently changed prices... perhaps take down the FIRST menu board that lists the older/lower prices? I was slightly irritated by that. Why have both on if only one reads the real prices? I was also blown away paying an extra $1 for oat milk with a relatively small drink that's already $6.50. It makes absolutely no sense to me. Unfortunately it just created more frustration in the process of ordering given the previously-mentioned price discrepancies. I was also thrown off by the fact that you can't order the matcha latte completely unsweetened (only the tea). As a place that advertises ceremonial grade matcha, you'd think that the powder wouldn't be pre-mixed with a sweetener. Hmmmmmm. While my latte was good, the husband did not like his as much. He said that the dairy milk was way too strong and completely overpowered the matcha leaving very little to taste. Again I have to ask just how "ceremonial" this matcha is (especially at its price point) if it isn't pungent enough to cut through milk. He preferred mine because the muted oat milk helped the flavor really come through. I was lowkey underwhelmed. The environment didn't help. No tissue in the bathroom. Cheap decor that should have been replaced/refreshed a while ago (paper peeling on the walls, etc). I'd only come back if I was in the area, but I'm not eager to revisit. The star here is the soft-serve it seems, and not the regular matcha.
