My experience at Zen Zone Spa was anything but Zen-like, leaving me utterly disappointed and frustrated. Despite having purchased a gift card in advance, the process of scheduling an appointment proved to be a nightmare. The language barrier was immediately evident, as the employee struggled to understand English during my repeated attempts to make a booking over the phone.
Optimistically, I decided to proceed with the appointment, hoping for a redeeming experience. Upon arrival, the spa appeared clean and tranquil, providing a glimmer of hope for a relaxing massage session. However, the massage itself was lackluster, failing to meet even the most basic expectations of quality and effectiveness.
Things took a turn for the worse during the payment process. Wanting to tip the massage therapists in cash, as is often preferred, my friend and I each handed them a $20 bill, which equated to just under 20% of the total service cost. Instead of expressing gratitude, the therapists shook their heads disapprovingly and requested more, seemingly indicating they wanted $25 each. Feeling uncomfortable and pressured, we reluctantly handed over an additional $5 to each therapist.
To make matters worse, when I politely asked for the therapists to sign my rewards card, I was met with rudeness and disdain from a staff member named Lulu. Despite my repeated requests, she responded with dismissive nods and an abrupt "go," accompanied by a rude shushing gesture.
Overall, this was undeniably the worst spa experience I've ever encountered. Not only was the service subpar, but the blatant expectation for a larger tip and the disrespectful behavior from staff, particularly Lulu, was entirely unacceptable. Tipping should be voluntary, and the suggested range of 15-20% is based on exemplary service, which was sorely lacking in this instance. Lulu's entitled attitude only served to exacerbate the already dismal experience.
In conclusion, I would strongly advise against patronizing Zen Zone Spa, as their lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction overshadow any potential benefits of their services. read more
