My wife and I have been coming here for years! Thasanee is by far the best Thai masseuse in the states. We've been to her location many times, and also paid a little extra for her to come to our house. Our daughters were very interested in it so she offered to do a little 5 min massage for them (ages 5 and 8). Slippery slope, I know! They absolutely loved it too. Thassanee is awesome! I've been going to her for a few months and I always leave feeling loose, relaxed. I play tennis and workout so my body gets sore quite a lot. I was a member of Massage envy but decide to cancel. I need firm massage to remove stress and aches. Thassanee, while petite, is able to massage firmly and she's strong :) She can focus on the right areas well. She massages while I have full clothes on and no oil or lotion. Optionally, she would put balm which I like on more sore areas. So it's different than other type of massages if you're used to it. Her place has light music, warm bed, blanket. So I feel good. I've had several massages from Thassanee now, and walked away feeling great from every single one. She's really thorough and her massages are strong enough to unwind even my stubborn muscle knots from years of computer overuse. Scheduling happens over the phone. She responds quickly. The place itself is nice, in a residential building so make sure you follow the directions she sends you. There is an AC, she has relaxing music playing, she can use a heat pad, and she just got a new massage bed. Super happy with my experience here so far and will continue using her services. Also, make sure to look up a quick video on "thai massage" to make sure you know what you are getting into beforehand. They are quite strong massages (but you can probably tell her to adjust her strength) with a mix of stretching as well. I recently started considering massage for better sleep, and I found Nuad Thai from Yelp based on locations. I tend to wake up very early in the morning and have trouble fall back asleep. I was introduced to Thai Massage (or a version of it) several years ago. Since I don't like regular massage for relaxing or "rejuvenating". I prefer the type of massage that challenges the body and pushes it to the limit in terms of stretching and flexibility. Summary for the impatient: I have had dozens of massages over the years, and this was best massage I've ever had. Really. . Many times I have lain atop a poorly laundered, slippery sheet and been slathered with massage oils infused with aroma-therapeutic herbs that simultaneously invigorated/soothed my tired/tense spirit (rendering me aromatherapeuticly bipolar). I generally left those massages just feeling greasy. In traditional Thai massage, no oil is used and the client wears loose comfortable clothing. Each massage begins with a clean and oil free sheet spread across a single bed sized foam pad. IMHO, Thassanee Cross is no average massage practitioner; she's a massage therapist. She was trained twice: once at a respected school in Thailand and again in Washington state (due to international certification bureaucracy). The diminutive Mrs. Cross is incredibly strong and adroitly varies her technique between gentle/superficial and so deep she could be massaging bone. She thoughtfully checked with me several times to make sure I was happy with the intensity. Traditional Thai massage incorporates "passive" stretching where the therapist positions the body and gently stretches major muscle groups (think yoga for lazy people). After muscles have been warmed by her manipulation, it is the optimal time to stretch them. Thassanee Cross 'Thai massage skills leave my muscles feeling refreshed and revitalized. Relevant medical background: 25 years ago I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which causes uncomfortable muscle tension and pain. I was in Thailand the end of April and encountered my very first Thai massage. I've had many, many different kinds of massage in the past, but until you've had a Thai massage you DONT KNOW WHAT YOU"RE MISSING! Omgosh! I was so hooked that upon my return to Seattle I knew I had to find myself a Thai masseuse. After much searching, I came across a link to Thassanee Cross who does authentic Thai massage. I've had problems for over 6 years with tight muscles in my back, where they spasm and felt like they were in a strait jacket. I've done everything from regular massage, chiropractic care (5 different chiro's), IMS, Myofascial Release, physical therapy, electric stim and NOTHING helped. When I went and had my first Thai massage I knew it was the answer I was looking for. Thassanee used to be an instructor at Wat Po Massage school, a temple in Thailand (which we visited) but little did I know when we visited they had a Thai massage school on site. I contacted her, and she told me she'd come to my house. Great, I thought. When she arrived, she came armed with all her gear...the massage pad with the headrest, clean sheets to cover everything and pillow. All this was a bonus as I was just expecting a blanket on the floor. Let me point out Thassanee is all of 5 ft. tall but is very strong for her size and one little dynamo. None of this rub a dub massage. What's great about Thai massage is it's pressure point massage and you can keep your clothes on (as long as they're comfortable). She got into areas no other masseuse could touch like the back of my hamstrings, and IT band. She's very cognizant if it's too much pressure and you just let her know. She twists and bends you at the end of the massage to really give your body a good stretch. If you're in search of a good massage, you MUST try this. Additionally, her rates are extremely reasonable. She charges $45 plus travel for an hour massage! OMGosh - you can't beat that to have someone give you a massage in your own home. Being from Thailand, I asked if she'd come over to our home one night when we invited some friends over to prepare a Thai meal and she did an excellent job (which we paid her for -which included her making authentic Pad Thai, Tom Yum Soup, green papaya salad - DELICIOUS!) My wife and I have been receiving massages from Thassanee at our home for a few months now. For the last couple of years I have been having issues with my right knee. PT, massage and medical care did not resolve those issues. Since seeing Thassanee my knee has vastly improved. The range of motion and therefore the strength have returned to almost 100% and I am virtually pain free. Thassanee is a very pleasant, strong, intelligent person who listens well to what we have to say as well as what our bodies have to say.
