He mentioned wait times for tables, so I chose a Tuesday evening to try to avoid the crowds and it worked as I was immediately sat upon arriving. There are QR Menus on the table and my server directed me to view there. I spotted the Tokyo and was intrigued by the Ajitama Brûlée (signature torched seasoned soft boiled egg). What I Ordered: - Tokyo: For $16.95, I thought this was reasonably priced and excited to try as reading reviews raved about the umami flavor of their ramen. Without exaggeration, this was a life-changing ramen. The best ramen that I've had in my life!! The torched egg was genius and added a beautiful texture to the rich, and flavorful broth. The fried chicken thigh was a delicious protein and cooked so well. Honestly, every ingredient was crafted well and combined to make such a beautiful bowl. - Lychee Martini: What better way to toast to life, then with a martini! The popping bubbles were not my thing, but the flavor of the martini was delicious. I can see why many suggest trying it. This is my 1900th review on Yelp, and I couldn't pick a better place to review and RAVE about my experience. If you are in Jacksonville, RUN don't walk to this location for a stunning experience as it's a gorgeous location that is very cozy. Though I didn't wait, I definitely would to have a Tokyo Ramen again!

We ordered wontons, two egg rolls, lo mein with chicken, orange chicken and fried rice, sesame chicken with fried rice, and egg drop soup. The food was solid overall. The lo mein was really good, and the fried rice had great flavor. The sesame chicken was one of the highlights of the meal it was cooked well and tasted great. The orange chicken wasn't bad either. The sauce was enjoyable, and while the chicken itself was just okay, it was still a good dish overall. The wontons were tasty, and the egg drop soup was warm and comforting. The real standout, though, was the egg rolls. They were crispy, flavorful, and, in my opinion, some of the best I've ever had. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The dining area was clean and well maintained, although the restaurant had a fairly simple interior with minimal decorations. The restroom was reasonably clean, but it was extremely hot inside it honestly felt like a sauna. Overall, I'd rate the food 4.5/5, the atmosphere and cleanliness 4/5, and the staff 5/5. If you're looking for a casual Chinese restaurant with friendly service, delicious food, and outstanding egg rolls, Chang Chinese Restaurant is definitely worth a visit. D.D ratings 5/5

I would eat Panda Express before ever going back here and I hate it! I barely ate anything! We took an Uber over from the marina we were staying at. Firstly this is mainly a take out place, that's fine. There are four tables. Food was served in to go boxes with paper plates and plastic spoons and forks. Little tiny napkins and no knives. We ordered an appetizer, soup, rice and a main. Everything came out together. We ordered Wonton and Hot & Sour soup. Steamed Dumplings, Vegetable Fried Rice and Orange Chicken that came with white rice. The best part of the meal was the white rice! The Steamed Dumplings were barely cooked with very little meat in them and were probably cooked in a microwave. The Wonton Soup was just ok. The Hot & Sour Soup had so much bean curd in it that should have been its name. I ate half of the cup because that was the best part of my meal! The Vegetable Fried Rice was disgusting. It was soggy and tasteless. I had about one bite. My husband's Orange Chicken had so much breading on it was hard to find the chicken. He ate about half of it because he's not that picky and was really hungry! We got a bonus's Pork Egg Roll because we spent over $40. I ate two bites of it and spit the second one out! We also had two bottles of water, no issues with the water. Overall it was a terrible experience. I will say that many reviews talked about small portions we thought the portions were fine. I'm giving this review one star because I can't give a zero!

A Delicious Experience at Modu Ramen!…read more We recently had the pleasure of dining at Modu Ramen on Baymeadows Road, and what a wonderful experience from beginning to end! One of the highlights of our visit was getting to meet Chef Kim, who came out personally to speak with us and walk us through the menu. He took the time to explain the different dishes, flavors, and ingredients, which made the experience feel so much more personal. You can truly feel the passion he has for what he creates. ‍ And a big shoutout to Christian, who took such great care of us throughout our meal. The service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. It made us feel right at home. We started with the Vegetable Gyoza and Corn Croquettes -- both were delicious and the perfect way to kick off the meal. For ramen, we had several different bowls so we could experience a little bit of everything: Beef Bulgogi Ramen -- tender beef bulgogi with chicken broth, a soft egg, Naruto, and bok choy. One thing I really appreciated is that if you don't eat pork, you can substitute the broth, making it easier to find something that works for your preferences. Curry Tonkotsu Ramen -- rich, flavorful curry broth with chicken, mushrooms, and corn. So comforting and packed with flavor! Vegetable Curry Ramen -- a delicious option for veggie lovers, with that wonderful curry flavor and plenty of satisfying ingredients. Of course, we couldn't stop at the food! Mango Sake -- fruity, refreshing, and such a fun pairing with the meal. Butterscotch Latte -- sweet, creamy, and absolutely delicious. A perfect little treat alongside dinner. And then came dessert... and this was definitely something special! Mango Bingsu -- light, refreshing, and full of mango flavor. Tiramisu Bingsu -- such a fun twist on traditional tiramisu! Creamy, indulgent, and the perfect way to end the meal. What I loved most about Modu Ramen was that it wasn't just about having a good bowl of ramen. It was the whole experience -- the welcoming atmosphere, Chef Kim taking the time to personally explain the menu, Christian's wonderful service, and all the different flavors coming together to make the meal memorable. If you're looking for a place to enjoy comforting ramen, creative dishes, and genuinely warm hospitality, Modu Ramen is definitely worth adding to your Jacksonville dining list! Modu Ramen - One of the Best Ramen Experiences in Jacksonville!…read more What an incredible meal at Modu Ramen on Baymeadows! This was easily one of the best ramen experiences I've had in Jacksonville. The flavors were so authentic that with every bite, I felt like my taste buds were taking a trip back to Japan. I loved that the ramen is customizable. You can choose vegetable, chicken, or pork broth, adjust the spice level, and select from different curry and spice options. This makes it easy to create a bowl exactly the way you like it. We tried the Vegetable Gyoza, Corn Croquettes, Beef Bulgogi Ramen with chicken broth, soft egg, naruto and bok choy, Curry Tonkotsu with chicken, mushrooms and corn, and Vegetable Curry Ramen. Every dish was flavorful, and the portions were generous and hearty. The Beef Bulgogi Ramen was a standout for me, with an amazing combination of Japanese and Korean flavors. The curry ramen had a wonderful depth and authentic spice. The broths are incredibly rich and flavorful, and you can substitute the broth if you don't eat pork. I've had similar styles of ramen in Japan, and Modu Ramen really brought back those flavors. The spice, depth of flavor and overall authenticity were outstanding. My taste buds were honestly in food-flavor nirvana! And I have to mention the Mango Sake--my favorite drink of the evening! We also enjoyed the Butterscotch Latte. For dessert, we finished with Mango Bingsu and Tiramisu Bingsu, both delicious and a refreshing way to end such a flavorful meal. Chef Kim was amazing and personally came out to talk with us about the menu and the dishes. You can tell he takes great pride in what he creates. Christian provided excellent service--friendly, attentive and quick. Modu Ramen isn't just another ramen restaurant. The combination of authentic flavors, customizable bowls, generous portions and Korean-Japanese influences makes this place special. If you're looking for some of the best ramen and authentic Japanese flavors in Jacksonville, Modu Ramen should definitely be on your list.
