After a reasonable wait, our foods were brought to our table. Here are my ratings for our foods: Polish Platter - 4.2 stars - I received three pierogies (4.5 stars, handmade in their Irwin location; I chose the potato-cheese flavor), one stuffed cabbage (4.5 stars), and haluski (3.5 stars, wide thick noodles). 4-cut Chicken Parmesan Pizza - 4 stars - This small pizza had a thick crust, a good sauce, little cheese, and an interesting flavor of chicken parmesan. This is a cash-only place, so come prepared to be vilified for wanting to pay with plastic. The prices were lower than the norm but that did little to make me feel better upon leaving. Despite the dearth of customers when we were there, the service was also lacking. I had to seek out help to get a refill on my iced tea and we waited a while to pay...with cash. Graystone doesn't have a huge menu, but what they do have on the menu covers just about every niche you would want. Appetizers, dinners, sandwiches, the usual normal stuff to find. I made sure that I went over the whole menu before I was happy with my decision. I got both an appetizer and dinner, just so I could taste the two sides of the menu. For the appetizer I went with the fries with cheddar and bacon. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. You can tell that the fries are frozen and you can tell that there wasn't really much thought put into this than to add it to the menu as a quick appetizer. It says cheddar, and when you think of that you think cheddar sauce, it's not. Simply a handful of cheddar thrown on top with some fresh cooked bacon. Wouldn't be bad with the cheddar, but it basically hardened over the fries. Making you to really have to get in there with your hands and get messy with it. When it came to my dinner, I was not disappointed in the least. As soon as I saw meatloaf on the menu I did not have a second thought about it. I will always go with the meatloaf, especially if it is my first time trying the place. When you order a dinner you get your choice of two sides and a dinner roll. To keep the meal "homestyle" I went with mashed potatoes and stuffing for my side. Of course they made sure there was gravy. The meatloaf itself was a huge piece, one that easily takes up half of the plate. This also isn't one of those skinny pieces, on top of it taking over half the plate, it is like a double slice or triple slice when compared to other places. I added the gravy on top and I was off. The gravy definitely added to it and combatted the dryness that you encounter sometimes. I really enjoyed the edges, it had that hardened crunch to it that, when combined with the crumbliness, gave you different textures. It was a decent blend of spices, peppers, and onions giving this meatloaf top marks. The sides, let's talk about them. The stuffing, probably not homemade. A bit salty, kind of having some of those same flavors as the meatloaf. The potatoes, I want to think they were homemade. I did come across some lumps, which made me think that. With the gravy, of course it made it a connected meal. The bun, frozen, store bought, but it was a nice way to clean the plate from gravy. Overall, it was a great meal and was definitely feeling. It was okay, something's tasted better than other things. But for the price and how long it took, I don't think it was really worth it. While eating, I needed a drink refill, again I can see our waitress behind the bar. Not doing nothing but from the time our food was dropped off to the time we finished eating, she didn't come over to check on us. Which was annoying. When she did come over she was nice and friendly, but not really apologetic because I don't think she knows how slow her service is. Year 3: okay 1 good trip - 1 bad trip, so we needed a tie breaker. Again sat at a table near the bar. They had 2 host, and 3 waiters working and probably 7 to 8 tables??? Spilt between the 3 of them. So not very busy. Didn't say "sorry about the wait" "wings should be up shortly", nothing. And yet again i can see our waitress and other staff standing behind the bar. I got a chicken sandwich that was a little extra crispy lol and my boyfriend got fried catfish? I believe? I will give credit, the wings were good and had a nice crispy skin. The main meals were both just alright. But again for the wait and the cost ($70) it's just not really worth it. After finishing the meal, we waited 10 minutes and then had to go find someone else to bring us our check. I wasn't trying to be there all night... FINALLY! We get to go downstairs to the Ice Cream Shop (which is why we came in the first place) at 8:05 and they were "technically closed" - pretty sure the restaurant closes at 8:30 but okay whatever. The girl kind of offered to still scoop us some Ice Cream but at that point I'm over it. So we got our Ice Cream Stamp at left. Already decided next year will be a strictly Ice Cream Only trip. Usually the food and service have been OK, but my last visit wasn't great. It took 30 minutes to get our food (small pizza, steak salad, patty melt and burger). My patty melt was loaded with garlic (like, why???) and the fries were limp, though I had requested them well done. The server didn't check on us until we were ready to pay. So no drink refills and no opportunity to ask them to dunk those fries for a bit longer. Overall it wasn't awful, but not great and not as good as past visits. Still, if I'm going to the Arcadia, I'll come back here for dinner just for the convenience.
