Zeb's is probably our favorite shop in downtown North Conway. We make a point to visit every year and we always end up walking out with something. This two floor shop has everything from candy and hot sauce to fuzzy socks and handmade soaps. Much of the merchandise in the store is from small local businesses around the New England region. There is so much to choose from that you could easily spend at least forty five minutes to an hour combing through their stock. There is truly something for everyone in this store. This is the place to go for merch in the area! Nice, huge store with a huge variety of souvineers and local products. There's tons of maple and blueberry themed items like candy, sauces, and snacks. It's really cutely decorated and feels like you step back in time when you walk in. There's a massive bath and soap section, and the whole place is very well organized. A must visit if you're in North Conway. It's a vintage style convenience store. They carry all types of items from candies to soaps and more. They also have their own sodas and spreads. It's located in a convenient location with many amenities nearby. We were walking around town and saw this spot. I also read some good reviews about it. It's a large gift shop with many items. A perfect place to buy items for yourselves and as gifts. We bought some candies; I love the penny old school style candies. I was super excited to get into the store to get some souvenirs. After a long car ride to get here from Lincoln, I asked to use the restroom and was told that the closest one was across the street at the train station. When I expressed surprise about the fact that they have to cross the street to use the restroom, the employee let me know that they do have one but not for customers. So Zeb's is exactly what the name says, a general store. You can get lots of locally made goods here, candy, sauces, jams, jellies, clothing, really just about anything. The one thing to note, is there is a big line to get in. Is waiting in this massive line worth it? You really don't see many huge bags leaving, so I think most people only end up buying a couple things, and will forever have the bragging rights that they made it in the store. I think the store can be a little overwhelming at first because it's a lot of stuff in a kind of small store. If you've been there once, you've probably seen me a lot of things and not a lot of it changes. The only thing I don't like about it is you can't really look at the candy section because everybody's in front of it so I have no idea what's there in the counters because I can't see it. Our friend told us to go and check out Zeb's General Store, which only opened in 1991, but has a serious following now. Oh my, what a delightful and charming store it was. It is a true general store that harkens back to yesteryear. The multilevel general store is chocked full of anything and everything you can think of wanting. We were thrilled to see an old soda fountain, penny candies, all kinds of foods, gifts, a large collection of New England-made specialty items situated among antique items. I loved loved loved this store and the staff that work here. There's a staff member at the door that explains the one way paths and she was so kind and welcoming. All staff wore masks, customers wore masks and it felt safe (as much as is possible during this time) inside the airy and roomy store. There were areas where customers congregated but that's not the fault of the staff. People are dumb. It was easy to escape those people though. The store itself has everything you could ever want to buy - and every thing your kids would want too. It was so fun for my kids to look through everything, and for a touristy stop, prices were more than fair. Zeb's rocks! Definitely always a go to for us, but the only thing that used to disappoint was how crowded it was and how it was often difficult to move around the store without bumping into people. Now that Zeb's is holding a line out front to lower capacity, the shopping experience was MUCH more pleasant. If I had a favorite tourist trap in the world, it would be Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. Second to that is Zeb's here in New Hampshire. I've been coming to the White Mountains since I was a child and been coming to Zeb's for as long as I can remember. Usually when we come I end up spending more money than I wanted and bring home some more stuff to clutter my home office. You will be completely blown away the moment you walk in! Such an exciting energetic place on any day - unbelievable variety of food, drinks, treats, baking goods, decor, soaps, puzzles and more! The staff of people working here are very friendly and funny. Like traveling back in time! This place makes you feel like a kid again! It's no wonder that my family and I visit this store EVERY single time we venture off to the North Conway, NH. The second you walk in you're hit with the smell of coffee freshly brewed to the right. Grab a cup if you need a pick me up or to warm up on a brisk day. The candy is not very visible and communication can be frustrating having to tell the employee what candies you want in your bag when you can't see the full selection.
