The only reason this place is in business is because there's literally nowhere else to go without driving 20 minutes. Be careful shopping here. The stock is OLD. Check your produce and expiration dates carefully before leaving. And I definitely wouldn't buy meat. All it would take is someone with an ounce of business sense to open a competing store and this place would be done. read more

Went there a few weeks ago intending to buy some ground burger. When I asked the young guy at the deli for it he instead attempted to push a package of two pre-made sirloin burgers (at $14 !) but we said that we'd prefer the ground beef. He again tried pushing the package of sirloin burgers and when my partner asked to see it I noticed that the stamped expiration date was 10 DAYS PRIOR!!! We ended up purchasing the ground burger but felt uneasy about it. We won't go back and purchase anything perishable. read more

Used to be a great neighborhood store.maybe10%.more than the Plymouth stores. Good products and great Meats....now two to three times more expensive and half the vegetables are rotten. This store doesn't look like much from the outside, but wow, it has everything you need for a weekend in NH. There's a deli, frozen food, grocery section, produce, bakery, beer & wine, DVD rental, and more. My family was impressed by the selection in a store no bigger than a 7-11. The produce we bought for a salad was delicious and the 2 loaves of fresh baked garlic bread were a hit with the dinner crowd as well. Other family members bought cold cuts, cheese, etc for sandwiches and said they were great. We all left happy and felt lucky to find the store so close to our rented vacation house. read more

I kept giving this place a chance because it is close to home and convenient but I have unknowingly purchased spoiled food on multiple occasions. Today was the last straw. Don't trust their deli or produce. You will be disappointed. read more

$35 for 2 pieces of marinated steak that was so tough I had to throw it out and cook hotdogs instead. I don't plan on buying meat there again, as even walmart seems to have better quality. They got known for their meat quality and prices, now I think they are trying to get known as a place to buy meat that died of old age. read more

The Campton Cupboard has a wide selection of goods and helps you avoid several minutes of highway to/from other towns. Steaks, burgers and hot dogs were all quite good. They were occasionally out of some things but made great efforts to restock all of the essentials like milk and bread and eggs and the local newspaper during my week-long stay in Campton. My favorite was their own made berry pies, which are quite yummy! My least favorite was when a pound of strawberries went to $7.99. (Other days it was more reasonable, like $4.99.) They made a pretty good use of the space, but I only wish that the few bumps between rooms could have been smoothed out. The current configuration walking around with a shopping cart rather difficult. read more

Living about a mile from the Cupboard we frequent this place and it never disappoints. Great selection and the prices are very reasonable given the "country store" flavor. Milk, for example is much cheaper than at the Hannafords in Plymouth. One thing NOT TO BE MISSED, and I'd encourage you to go out of your way for it, is their home-made cinnamon-raisin (or apple) bread. It's to die for and makes the kind of french toast that could be served in the finest restaurants in the world (I"m not kidding). In fact, they have a bakery on site and make a lot of their own stuff. Their pies and cakes are just fabulous. read more

After unloading our car at the rented ski-condo, with a snowstorm building, no 4-wheel drive, and a dearth of delivery options- the gf and I dashed out to the nearest grocer to stock up for a snowed-in style long weekend by the fire. Campton Cupboards doesn't look like much from the outside but it had everything we needed and more. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection and prices (it's only a little larger than a 7-11 so we'd expected highway robbery). They have a full deli, ample (if oddly arranged) shelves of groceries, and a stocked beer cooler (if that's your thing). There's a full grocery store in Plymouth, but for a quick run out - the Cupboard is stocked and waiting. read more

"The Cub" is a great place to pick up a few essentials when getting to Plymouth seems too far. The place is old, but I like the small town store feel. They have most anything you would imagine being in that type of setting from beer, wine, snacks or meals. They even have a decent deli. One thing I would not recommend is the "fresh" food. The selection is limited and looks like it does get bought too often. Its not cheap, but you wont pay more than you would expect at a small place like this. Friendly enough staff, some more than others. 3 stars seems fair, I give it 4 as I frequently visit there and still have no reason not too. read more

Started coming to this store when my family camped here in the late 60s. Now that I have lived in nh since 1990, I still stop in a few times a week. Besides many happy memories of family time, the deli is good and the hot lunches they make always sell out. read more

Local convenience store with a surprising variety of items and food, including a small butcher shop with really good looking products. They also sell beer, cider and wine, as well as fresh pastries and coffee. Prices are mostly reasonable. They sell ice, rent movies and open every day including weekends and thanksgiving day. I have lived in nearby Thornton for 18 years and the Campton Cupboard is still a choice I make for much of my food shopping. They make their own sausages! Breads! You can buy small amounts of fresh meat/salads. Special orders are possible. Recent renovations make getting around more convenient. Look carefully-I just discovered Ritter Sport chocolate candy is there low down near the floor by the cashier. read more

I've visited this store 3-4 times. It's ok for people in a pinch, like tourists, who don't want to take the highway to wal-mart. But a lot of the items are overpriced, and I spotted expired items on my most recent visit. Frozen foods are not really frozen, and the boxes were kind of soggy. Good selection of beer and wine. Only two instances with employees comes to mind. When I went in the evening during my first visit, all the employees were very nice and made good suggestions. But on my second visit in the morning, the woman at the register wouldn't stop texting with a line waiting. Great small bakery in the back. read more

I live in campton and it has the best meat around. Just one thing for some reason they decided to bring already made sausage sorry but it was the worst thing I have every had please dont do that again. Stick to fresh and local you are the best small store around keep it that way. Anyone heading to the valley this is a must stop. read more
