    Lamb and chicken tagine

Extremely friendly, welcoming, helpful staff and delicious flavorful meal!! We got the lamb and chicken tagine and both were packed with spices, meat, and veggies. Simple yet comfortable ambiance! Very inexpensive and big portions. We'll be back!

Kafta tajine . It could use more flavor.

It was decent but I didn't like how unclear the menu was. I think they need to work on that. The kafta tajine lacked flavor but it wasn't bad.

I am loving this place, full of uncles arguing in arabic. Food is incredible. Ambiance is very dive-y. Place is small so you can't really come here in a big group. The menu is super simple too. The portion is HUGE. I had the Lamb Couscous, heavy on the couscous. With a serving of their chorba(soup). Lamb was cooked well, tender, moist, flavorful. The couscous had cooked chickpeas, chunks of squash, and carrots. It was really exceptional as a dish. I didnt mind all the couscous at all. This dish is big. You will definitely have takeout. Their cafe latte is also exceptional. I could tell once I saw the coffee machine they had in the back. Will absolutely come back here, can't recommend enough!

The literal hole in the wall with a dedicated proprietor who makes great dishes not found elsewhere with a homemade quality. However space is limited and restroom options are insufficient (at the time of this review).

Ok Bill M here I go at Zebda

Shout out to Mr Bill M (Yelp Black Elite 15 Years) AKA Mr Zebda (he checked in 102 times). There must be a reason he went here 102x's. I finally made it here to Zebda to try their Kifta pizza Very good crunchy thin crust pizza unlike any pizza I ever ate before. The kifta pizza has crumbled pieces of cooked kifta meat, green & red peppers, potatoes & feta cheese baked onto a thin crust pizza. It made for a tasty yet very different pizza. I got it to go as I scarfed down the generous size pieces of pizza (4 pieces) Zebda is located on Elston Ave right near the corner of Pulaski Ave. I will be back to try some of their other menu items, but I seriously doubt if Bill was anything to worry about me trying to top his check ins there lol

My husband was an ardent fan of the kefta pizza long before he met me, yet it took him nearly a year into our marriage to introduce me to it! This dish is outstanding, and the portion is generous. I have also enjoyed the zebda lamb kebab. We have appreciated their streamlined takeout process during quarantine.

    Merguez sandwich (featuring my gloves)
    Madeleine B.

Ordered through Seamless yesterday and got the merguez sandwich with harrira soup. The sandwich was delicious, especially the merguez which was tender and flavorful. I saved the soup for later in the fridge, and the next day when I took it out it had become gelatinous (ie jiggly jiggly) even after popping it in the microwave. I admit I was a bit too alarmed of its new texture so I threw it out... that took off a star. But otherwise really good.

Second time coming here so I think this place deserves a review. For one this a mostly male dominated restaurant. So might not be the best date spot lol. But the food here is fresh and delicious and they also have expreso and other cafe options. I asked what they recommended for lunch and I was told the combo plate. I didn't want to do rice so they swapped it for zucchini and mushrooms which was excellent. Only thing disappointing was that I had a taste for something sweet along with my cappuccino and they quickly suggested the tiramisu..which was super watery and not the greatest. Nonetheless, if you enjoy middle eastern flavors then check this place out.

Stylish Fulton Market Brunch with Great Food and Service…read more Booked brunch for two on OpenTable at Aba in Fulton Market, and it's easy to see why this spot is so popular. The space is beautiful--open, bright, full of natural light, and stylish without feeling overdone. We ordered the Short Rib Shakshuka, which was flavorful with just a hint of spice and a generous portion size. The warm, soft pita served alongside was perfect for dipping. The Steak and Eggs was also excellent--the steak and eggs were cooked perfectly, and the fried potatoes were a standout: crispy on the outside while still moist and tender inside. Portion sizes were just right. We also tried both of the recommended brunch cocktails, and they were strong, flavorful, and well balanced. Service from Mike was great--friendly, efficient, and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, Aba delivered a polished and enjoyable brunch experience. Highly recommend, and based on what we tasted, I'd absolutely come back to try dinner.

We ordered the grilled chicken kebab along with the tuna and watermelon. The chicken was moist and well-cooked, but the tuna and watermelon dish was disappointing. There was no watermelon at all, and the seasoning was overwhelmingly salty. The cucumber and mint spritz was refreshing, but the bartender was new and not very attentive. Overall, the experience fell short of expectations.

From the food and ambiance to the consistently outstanding service, everything is truly top-tier. This visit was just as exceptional as every one before it. We shared the Sweet Corn Hummus, Spicy Whipped Feta, Brussels Sprouts, Crispy Wild Mushrooms, Crispy Potatoes, Grilled Chicken, and the Lamb & Beef Kefta. Every single dish was outstanding. I wish I had taken more photos, but we were too busy enjoying the food as it arrived at the table! For drinks, my sister loved the Strawberry Rose Paloma, and I enjoyed a glass of Kir-Yianni Sparkling Rosé, which paired beautifully with the meal. The warm, seasoned pita deserves its own recognition. It's soft, pillowy, and absolutely addictive. Honestly, it's hard not to fill up on the pita and spreads before the rest of the meal even arrives. Our server struck the perfect balance between friendly and attentive, without ever feeling intrusive. We usually make room for dessert, but we were completely stuffed this time. In the past, though, I've loved both the Warm Sticky Date Cake and the Frozen Greek Yogurt, and I'd recommend either without hesitation. I was secretly hoping for a tiny scoop of frozen yogurt as a birthday surprise, but my server didn't mention it and I didn't remind him of the celebration (and honestly, we were way too full anyway ). As a huge Top Chef fan, it's always special dining at Chef CJ Jacobson's restaurant. I had the opportunity to meet him during my very first visit to Ema, and he was incredibly gracious. His creativity and attention to flavor are evident in every dish. Ema continues to set the standard for what a great dining experience should be. It's the restaurant I recommend most often when people ask me where to eat in Chicago, and it remains my go-to place for special celebrations. I can't wait to come back again soon! #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad PS: the hotel next door no longer provides parking validation.

I ordered the item charcuterie and chose coppa, prosciutto, and a French Brie. The meat and cheese were good as expected but that quince spread really took the dish over the top! It was the perfect complement to the fatty meats. Next was the Mushroom dish and while the mushroom purer wasn't a looker, it was a huge umami bomb! Really good pairing with the other mushrooms on the plate. Lastly, I got the milk braised shoulder and it was so tender and flavorful. Good size portion, too! Took leftovers and made a breakfast sandwich the next day and it was still good! I regret not ordering the beef marrow, the table next to me did and I had food envy the whole time but honestly, I had no more room, I was so stuffed! Drinks and service was great, too!
