There is…read moreno shortage of options around here, but I like everyone else wanted to try Raising Cane's when they opened their first location in the Triad. Though I waited a few months after opening, when my friends and I stopped by on a Friday night the joint was still jumping. There is a patio but it was busy and loud, and it also got kind of loud inside with all the activity. But it's a fast food joint so what do you expect, ambiance? Their menu is super simple. They got chicken tenders, crinkle cut fries, Texas toast, coleslaw, and their famous Cane's sauce. And that's about it. I guess technically there is a toasted bun and lettuce if you go for the tenders sandwich combo. Your options are to basically choose the combo with the number of tenders you want (or get a lot of tenders à la carte). It's limited, but I guess they stick to what they do well. Their chicken tenders are very juicy inside, but also have a nice crispy/flaky breading on the outside. Exactly what you want in a tender. They are pretty big. I got the 4 piece combo, but honestly the 3 was enough. It's really about the chicken, and they nailed it. The fries were pretty good, cooked well, but I'd personally like them more if seasoned. The Texas toast and coleslaw, were fine I'd take or leave it. Their Cane sauce was delish. We ordered many extras (you only get one with your meal), you are gonna want more and it's worth the cost. As they are so well known for their sauce, I was surprised to see it came in a generic restaurant clear plastic ramekin with just their name on it, opposed to something more extravagant with their branding. I know they will hate me for saying this, but the taste is very similar to Zax sauce from Zaxby's. I love Zax sauce, so I mean this as a compliment. Cane's is a little more peppery and tangy though. They have a soda fountain as well as various tea options for beverages. Ketchup of course but no other sauce readily available. Like I said, keeping it simple. Even though it was busy we got our food ordered and to us in a pretty reasonable amount of time. I was very happy with my first Cane's experience. I left feeling quite full and satisfied. And they stay open late! I will be back for sure!
