I believe in second chances. After recently leaving a one star review for slow service and inattentive employees on my last visit I decided to order and stop in again today. Food... bleh. Smelled and tasted burnt. Tried to eat it, but eventually just threw it away. The grease in the friers definitely need to be changed. The floors (especially on the dining side) need some serious degreasing. But if your kids need a good slip and slide, this would fit the bill! read more

I genuinely don't know what was happening in that building. It felt like the entire staff had just been dropped onto Earth five minutes earlier and told to "figure it out." I waited 40 minutes for 6 chicken fingers not a complicated order. Not a huge order. Just 6 chicken fingers. Meanwhile, the whole restaurant was filled with people staring at the counter like we were witnessing some kind of slow-motion meltdown. No one knew what they were doing. No one communicated. No one cared. It was like watching a group project where everyone failed. This wasn't "slow service." This was complete confusion and incompetence from start to finish. I left angry, hungry, and honestly impressed at how badly a fast-food place can be run. I wouldn't go back if it was the only food left on earth. I am sure I have mentioned this a time or two, when we travel we HAVE to stop at Zaxby's at least once. This trip, we did two stops; one on the way down and one on the way up. It's sad to see this particular Zaxby's have such a low rating because we found it to be quite nice. The employee who took our order was super fun and the place was clean. We ordered two chicken strip plates to share between the four of us because we weren't super hungry for lunch but it was lunchtime and we needed to stop for a bathroom break. The food was good. I mean, it wasn't knock-your-socks-off good but it was cooked well and like I mentioned earlier, the service was superb! read more

Super disappointed! Fries where undercooked, and the staff inside was not very friendly. We mentioned to them that the floors where very slick through the whole establishment, including the bathroom. And that I almost fell and worry an elderly person may actually get hurt. They didn't seem to care. My guess is they either mopped with a dirty mop or used to much product and didnt remove it from the floor. VERYYYY DANGEROUS! Wouldn't be surprised if someone fell and sued this place. read more

O-em-gee! This chicken tender, club sandwich is amazing! The fresh, tender, flavorful chicken, bacon on the cheese side, the dab of mayo, and the perfect amount of lettuce!!! Time for another bite... While vacationing in South Carolina I caught a commercial for this place with Lee Ann Womack telling me to come try it out. When Lee Ann says to do something, I do it. So on the way home to the Bluegrass where we don't have this chicken chain, I pulled off the highway and gave it a try. The chicken is....A-OK. It's just fine. There's nothing wrong with it. It's made better by dunking it in their special sauce which seems Thousand Island inspired. What doesn't taste better drenched in Thousand Island? The Thousand Island aside, I didn't feel sick after eating there like I do at many other fast food joints like the evil clown or the psychotic king or that disturbing pigtailed nymph Wendy. I don't get the decor. The theme seemed to be something along the lines of "Hey, TGI McFunsters makes a buck selling crap food and tossing random crap on the walls, let's improve the food a bit but keep the random crap on the walls." If driving through the south east again, I'll stop in for a meal that I have to get on the go and eat while driving with me knees. But only because Lee Ann told me to. read more

This review is for this specific Zaxby's location. We were traveling through the area on the way home from vacation and stopped at the restaurant. We got there at 11:30am and were greeted by an employee saying the place wouldn't open until 11:45 (online and on the door it states they open at 11). We went to get gas and then came back. As we walked inside, there were 4 employees still sitting down and eating and a line of about 10 people. Their drawers had not been switched out from the night before, and the employees did not seem to care in the slightest they they opened late. While we were standing in line, an employee walked out from the back cursing and quit on the stop. Needless to say we did not stay and give them our business. read more

Took about 20 minutes to get 2 salads and a snack pack. One salad ordered without bread because of gluten allergies and bread was on plate so salad had to be remade. In addition, apparently they had no sweetener for the tea. How can a restaurant not have any artificial sweetener? We like Zaxbys, but this one is not a place we will come to again. read more

This review is specific to the newberry location... As a general rule I am a fan of Zaxby's but this location is awful!!!! The food is mostly ok but the service is terrible. I have stopped going there because they NEVER get my order correct. The "dude" at the window looks absolutely "smashed" and I am pretty sure he is. Do yourself a favor and dine in so at least you are not 5 miles away when you figure out they screwed up your order. read more

The food at this Zaxby's does taste the same as at any other Zaxby's in SC. However, the service is EXTREMELY slow! I have sat in the drive thru for 20 minutes waiting on my food. Every single time I go I have to wait at least 10 minutes. The employees also act as if nothing is wrong about a customer waiting that long. Something is definitely not right with management at this location. And to wait that long I expect everything with my order to be perfect, but of course it isn't. Multiple times I didn't get my sauces or they added tomatoes when I said no tomatoes. The food is good, you just have to be willing to wait almost half a hour for it. read more

(Another customer waiting also) Several employees saw us waiting, not one would acknowledge us in any way. Place was dirty - period. Fried everything!
