This is the third Groucho's Deli that we've visited and we've enjoyed each one. The atmosphere is fast food but with table service, the food is consistently delicious and the menu is extensive. We especially enjoy the sugar free Dr. Brown's craft sodas! Hubby ordered the STP Dipper with Groucho's chips, and I ordered the Reuben Variation with slaw instead of sauerkraut, and potato salad. The sandwiches were tasty and filling. We each finished the meal with a cookie to go: chocolate chip and snickerdoodle. The cookies were just the right size, soft and chewy. Currently Groucho's Deli locations are only in South and North Carolina and we will try to patronize them when in the area, but we'd be happy to see Groucho's venture farther north! read more

I ordered a pastrami on rye with Swiss cheese. When the waitress brought my order I thought it looked strange. Called the waitress over and asked her if it was pastrami because it looked like salami to me. She told me that their pastrami looked that way. Didn't want to cause a scene. Ate my sandwich it was alright if I had wanted salami. Staff obviously doesn't know what pastrami looks like. I showed the waitress a picture of pastrami from Groucho's website. She agreed that what I had was not pastrami but did not offer to do anything about it. read more

This deli apparently is a chain in SC since I saw a lot advertised in small towns they were in! They have a variety of sandwiches, hoagies, pita and salad options. It was hard picking something! I chose a turkey sandwich on rye which came with a tasty pickle spear and bag of their own chips $8.79 (?). It was tasty the bread was a little smaller than normal rye bread but there was plenty of meat. I suspect they have their bread made too. On a trip, we stopped in for lunch, and as Yelp suggested this was a good choice. The dining room was spacious and cool on a hot humid day. The staff was very attractive and helpful. They were happy to answer questions. Service was quick with maybe five minutes from order to service. My Reuben was delicious, well-balanced, fresh and hot. read more

Always a yummy meal! We live in Texas and there aren't any Groucho's close to us, of course. When we come home to South Carolina to visit, it's always on our list of places to eat. We arrived before the Sunday lunch crowd. There was one family ahead of us. After we seated ourselves in full view of the counter, three more groups came in and seated themselves. All of the groups before and after ours were waited on and no one even spoke to us or came to our table. I asked the young lady at the counter why they wouldn't wait on us, and she said our waitress had been in the back and she was getting around to us. A customer shouldn't have to explain that you wait on customers in the order they come in, not some random plan. I've eaten there before and it's been ok, decent food and decent service, but this time was a bust. I got an oversized Apollo dipper which I've gotten at other Groucho's and it's suppose to be way bigger than what I was given I pretty much paid 20$ for a normal sized Apollo dipper, I find it unacceptable that they would tell you it's double the meat and bigger when it might be one inch bigger than the normal sandwich and definitely not twice the meat but you still pay 20$ for it read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the Chicken Power Salad! No corn or onions or green and red peppers. ONE BLACK BEAN. NO BRUSSELS SPROUTS. I ordered this TO-GO after my indoor order. This is unacceptable! You took my money and I believed that I was getting a product as described. That did not happen! I also could not find ANY CHEESE in my reuben. Great stop while traveling along the interstate. So much better than popping in for fast food. Soft bread, flavorful meats on the sandwiches, generous portions. Driving back to Hilton head after the eclipse and needed dinner. This was a welcome relief from high end restaurants. Very friendly staff. Roast beef pita and pastrami and Swiss on rye were good. On the way back from Riverbanks Zoo my daughter and her friends were hungry. They wanted to eat Mexican but when I saw that a GROUCHO's DELI had opened in Newberry I had to take them there. They didn't want to go at first.... Because they hadn't heard of it.....but after the great subs and great sandwiches and very friendly service....... now they ALL want to come back to Newberry just to eat at GROUCHO's Great Food ..... I went week ago after calling in a order before heading out to work. 20 minutes later arrived to pick up my pre ordered food and order had not been started. Whole purpose of preordering was for food to be ready. Then had to wait to have refund accomplished. Was my favorite Grouchos until this happened. Money was refunded but left with no food. Update your hours online! We were traveling through the area and I was so excited to see a Groucho's Deli only a few miles out of our way. I didn't trust the hours on Yelp because I have had issues with that before so I went to their website to see they were open on Sundays. Only to arrive to a closed restaurant with a sign on the door saying they won't be open Sundays (right next to their store hours on the door that says they are open Sundays for lunch. Had the salad with everything. Huge, fresh and I loved the blue cheese dressing. I am 6' 6" and did not eat it all, wanted to but had the loaded baked potato soup which tasted like it was made in-house. Taking the rest of the salad home. Another really good meal at Groucho's. read more

We loved Groucho's and were so excited to get one in Newberry. The food is always great. We moved away and stopped by there on a trip to Newberry and it did not disappoint. I had the White Moose and it was so super fresh and delicious. My husband had the Mid East and loved it. If you haven't tried Groucho's yet you should stop in. read more

Super sandwiches. My turkey peta pocket actually had what was like a fresh cut salad in it, and I mean fresh cut! Crunchy cucumbers lettuce etc. Delicious home made dressings to choose. Wonderful service and fast. Definitely will return. read more
