This is the third Groucho's Deli that we've visited and we've enjoyed each one. The atmosphere is fast food but with table service, the food is consistently delicious and the menu is extensive. We especially enjoy the sugar free Dr. Brown's craft sodas! Hubby ordered the STP Dipper with Groucho's chips, and I ordered the Reuben Variation with slaw instead of sauerkraut, and potato salad. The sandwiches were tasty and filling. We each finished the meal with a cookie to go: chocolate chip and snickerdoodle. The cookies were just the right size, soft and chewy. Currently Groucho's Deli locations are only in South and North Carolina and we will try to patronize them when in the area, but we'd be happy to see Groucho's venture farther north! read more

Groucho's Deli - Reuben Variation with herb slaw, 4oz. Potato Salad (subbed for chips) and pickles - Delis Near Me - Newberry, South Carolina

This deli apparently is a chain in SC since I saw a lot advertised in small towns they were in! They have a variety of sandwiches, hoagies, pita and salad options. It was hard picking something! I chose a turkey sandwich on rye which came with a tasty pickle spear and bag of their own chips $8.79 (?). It was tasty the bread was a little smaller than normal rye bread but there was plenty of meat. I suspect they have their bread made too. Hubby got BLT and the bread same ( little small) but was mounded high with meat! read more

On a trip, we stopped in for lunch, and as Yelp suggested this was a good choice. The dining room was spacious and cool on a hot humid day. The staff was very attractive and helpful. They were happy to answer questions. Service was quick with maybe five minutes from order to service. My Reuben was delicious, well-balanced, fresh and hot. read more

Yum! Stopped in for good and it hit the spot. The service was great. The food was great and the brownie was amazing. I loved my wrap that I got and the prices and size were great. This is a great stop in for some fresh food that doesn't make you feel bad but makes your belly happy. I will absolutely be back to this location for more food and service. read more

I ordered a pastrami on rye with Swiss cheese. When the waitress brought my order I thought it looked strange. Called the waitress over and asked her if it was pastrami because it looked like salami to me. She told me that their pastrami looked that way. Didn't want to cause a scene. Ate my sandwich it was alright if I had wanted salami. Staff obviously doesn't know what pastrami looks like. I showed the waitress a picture of pastrami from Groucho's website. She agreed that what I had was not pastrami but did not offer to do anything about it. read more

Bread was hard, leftout sauce ordered and got 3 of same sandwiches 1 glueten free. They did not indicate which one was glueten free all look exatly the same read more

Love going there. The sandwiches are great with amazing sauce. Pick up window is great no getting out

The food was great as always. It showed up quickly. They have the best sweet tea in town.

Always a yummy meal! We live in Texas and there aren't any Groucho's close to us, of course. When we come home to South Carolina to visit, it's always on our list of places to eat. My go to is the STP Dipper with Danish Bleu, but I always save room for those insanely delicious salted caramel brownies. Divine! read more

Groucho's Deli - STP Dipper, salted caramel brownie, Danish Bleu dressing cup - Delis Near Me - Newberry, South Carolina

Amazing salads! Every time I come into town I have to get the chicken salad. Staff is very friendly and do a great job!

We arrived before the Sunday lunch crowd. There was one family ahead of us. After we seated ourselves in full view of the counter, three more groups came in and seated themselves. All of the groups before and after ours were waited on and no one even spoke to us or came to our table. I asked the young lady at the counter why they wouldn't wait on us, and she said our waitress had been in the back and she was getting around to us. A customer shouldn't have to explain that you wait on customers in the order they come in, not some random plan. I've eaten there before and it's been ok, decent food and decent service, but this time was a bust. We left and went across the street to Mig's where we had great service and very good food. read more

I got an oversized Apollo dipper which I've gotten at other Groucho's and it's suppose to be way bigger than what I was given I pretty much paid 20$ for a normal sized Apollo dipper, I find it unacceptable that they would tell you it's double the meat and bigger when it might be one inch bigger than the normal sandwich and definitely not twice the meat but you still pay 20$ for it read more

Was really disappointed in my visit... I called in an order and was told to pick it up in 15 minutes. I arrive about 30 minutes later. When I arrived, they had not even started preparing my order. Keep in mind the place is empty. Not exactly the best service from a bunch of kids read more

Excellent all around. Not many sandwich options in Newberry and this hit the spot. Our daughter attends the local college and we ate here after move in day! read more

Hard to beat for a quick, healthy style lunch that doesn't leave you dragging for the afternoon! Groucho's always offers great service.

Worst sandwich ever from here. I ordered an STP dipper. 1-2 shaved slices of turkey, 3-4 shaved slices of roast beef, old ass bread. Nasty! Last time I will go back read more

It was OK. We ordered quickly and our sandwiches came out just as quickly. Good not great - sorry - I do know this a landmark around these parts. The fairly meager sandwiches came to $18, with just water to drink. Think that was a pretty high price for the quality and quantity we got. Wish we passed on this one read more

Groucho's is always great. I've eaten there regularly for years and have never had a bad experience. I ordered curbside pickup tonight for the first time. It helps save a lot of time. I would highly recommend eating the STP Dipper. read more

Great food at a good price. Regardless of for a work lunch or dinner at night, highly recommend.

Stopped while passing through on vacation. Excellent food and great service. Would recommend!

Stopped here on way through town for lunch. Sandwiches were fabulous and place was very clean. Able to space out at tables well given Covid. Felt very safe and ate well. Great job! read more

Very clean atmosphere despite dealing with COVID conditions. Friendly staff and smooth ordering with great assistance from server. I took our order to go yet, was very pleased with service and patience I had received here. I'd definitely recommend! Food quality was spot on. Pretzels with mustard side was good but the amount and size of pretzels were disappointing. That amount might please a child between 4-6 but not an adult. read more

I've ordered the same salad within days apart that's how delicious it was! The staff are friendly and the at was nice. I will be returning soon. read more

Love this place. Used to eat at the one in Columbia when I was in college. Was happy to see it in Newberry on the way to my Dad's house from GA one day. Great lunch. Thank you! read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the Chicken Power Salad! No corn or onions or green and red peppers. ONE BLACK BEAN. NO BRUSSELS SPROUTS. I ordered this TO-GO after my indoor order. This is unacceptable! You took my money and I believed that I was getting a product as described. That did not happen! I also could not find ANY CHEESE in my reuben. I was a steady customer at the 5 points area and was elated to find a Groucho's in Newberry. Not so much now. read more

Great stop while traveling along the interstate. So much better than popping in for fast food. Soft bread, flavorful meats on the sandwiches, generous portions. I had the blue sheesh dipping sauce on my Apollo sub. Ham, turkey, Swiss warmed to perfect with a cool container of the sauce to dip in. Delicious! read more

Driving back to Hilton head after the eclipse and needed dinner. This was a welcome relief from high end restaurants. Very friendly staff. Roast beef pita and pastrami and Swiss on rye were good. Pickle and chips included. Just enough to fill up but not stuffed. I'd go there for lunch if I lived here. Lots of choices. read more

On the way back from Riverbanks Zoo my daughter and her friends were hungry. They wanted to eat Mexican but when I saw that a GROUCHO's DELI had opened in Newberry I had to take them there. They didn't want to go at first.... Great Service ..... Newberry is lucky to have GROUCHO's . read more

I've always wanted to like eating here, being a well known local deli. IMO it's too high priced for a not so great sandwich.

Absolutely thrilled Grouchos has Gluten free bread.... obsessed with my formula 45 sauce here and feel fortunate they have so many healthy options now!!!! read more

We order groucho's at least 3 times a week!! Great variety of sandwiches and salads..I highly recommend Groucho's

Probably my favorite lunch spot. I don't eat much at one time so ordering a full meal usually doubles as dinner. A great concept for a struggling college student. I have found a hair in my food twice here though. Other thank that it's so great! read more

I went week ago after calling in a order before heading out to work. 20 minutes later arrived to pick up my pre ordered food and order had not been started. Whole purpose of preordering was for food to be ready. Then had to wait to have refund accomplished. Was my favorite Grouchos until this happened. Money was refunded but left with no food. Big fail Grouchos! read more

Update your hours online! We were traveling through the area and I was so excited to see a Groucho's Deli only a few miles out of our way. I didn't trust the hours on Yelp because I have had issues with that before so I went to their website to see they were open on Sundays. Only to arrive to a closed restaurant with a sign on the door saying they won't be open Sundays (right next to their store hours on the door that says they are open Sundays for lunch. How hard is it to update our store hours on your own website? Was really disappointed. read more

Had the salad with everything. Huge, fresh and I loved the blue cheese dressing. I am 6' 6" and did not eat it all, wanted to but had the loaded baked potato soup which tasted like it was made in-house. Taking the rest of the salad home. Another really good meal at Groucho's. read more

We loved Groucho's and were so excited to get one in Newberry. The food is always great. We moved away and stopped by there on a trip to Newberry and it did not disappoint. I had the White Moose and it was so super fresh and delicious. My husband had the Mid East and loved it. If you haven't tried Groucho's yet you should stop in. read more

I'm giving this spot a four star because. I haven't had their subs yet. But the salads are very good. Enjoy it. Plenty to eat.

Super sandwiches. My turkey peta pocket actually had what was like a fresh cut salad in it, and I mean fresh cut! Crunchy cucumbers lettuce etc. Delicious home made dressings to choose. Wonderful service and fast. Definitely will return. read more
