I called twice tonight. Once to ask about what sauces were available. And the second time to place our order. The person who answered was incredibly cheerful and helpful. Thankfully we ordered ahead for takeout because it was a packed house. People were standing outside in the rain waiting to get in! We ordered a custom deep dish pizza: ranch/blue cheese mixed sauce with sausage, mushrooms, black olives, banana peppers, and extra cheese. It was delicious! We also got an order of the cheesy garlic pizza which was also delicious. Their crust is really good! Amazing find on the way back home from a mountain trip! We found them through reviews online and thought we'd give it a try. Quick seating and buffet stayed well stocked. Salad bar was fresh with lots of toppings! Many varieties of pizzas to please any palate and if they don't have it, they said they'd make it. They offer both thin and deep dish pizzas, baked spaghetti and lasagna. All very delicious! Our waitress Sherri was amazing! Kept our drinks filled and offered suggestions on dessert pizza-even put in an order so we could try her favorites-a cherry one with Bavarian cream and a peanut butter and jelly one. I'd never believe to put PB&J on a pizza but holy moly was it amazing! We will definitely be back-it would be worth an hour drive from home! Highly recommend! read more

My family and I stumbled upon Dempsey, a locally owned restaurant, in Clinton South Carolina. Dempsey is a take out or sit down restaurant that offers an all you can eat pizza bar, salad bar,and they also have a menu that you can order sandwiches and pizzas off of. I was surprised to see all the different pizzas they had to offer because some I have never seen before, like taco pizza and the loaded vegetable pizza. However though, for me the crust was very thin and flaky (kind of like a pie crust), but I still enjoyed every bite I had. My daughter enjoyed the baked pasta they also had in the pizza bar. In addition, I loved the salad bar; it was very cleaned and stocked often. My family and I liked how the salad bar had shredded lettuce instead of regular because it made it easier to eat and enjoy. Furthermore, Dempsey dessert pizza were pretty decent, but their cinnamon puffed pastry was to die for. I would definitely recommend you to try it. On top of the yummy food, our waiter was amazing and the staff were kind and friendly.They worked very hard to ensure there were no holes on the salad bar and pizza bar. Also, the restaurant atmosphere was average not too loud or quiet. Even though Dempsey is a smaller restaurant, I would recommend getting their early, because you might be waiting in a line during dinner time. Furthermore, Dempsey offer punch cards and after 10 punches you get a free meal, which I think is very nice. Also if it is your birthday Dempsey will make you a personalized pizza that has your age on it, I thought that was really cool and I never seen this done at any other pizza buffet. In addition, if you are 55 and up Dempsey has a senior day every Tuesday. Lastly, I would definitely recommend you checking out Dempsey with your family or friends, because you will have a great time. This a a little gem in a small town. It is a pizza, pasta, salad, and dessert buffet. The variety of pizza was interesting. Several different types we had never had before. The BLT pizza was our favorite with the cinnamon dessert pizza coming in a very close second. The salad bar was well stocked and the place was very clean. Only complaint was all the pizzas had meat - no veggie options. Also, many of the pizzas were extremely hot - spice wise. This place was packed on a Saturday night, but we got a table for our large party and started to devour some pizza. I gave this place a shot while in town because of the yelp reviews I read. From the outside I thought man this looks like an old Pizza Inn. When I went in and looked at the food it definitely reminded me of one. It was very nostalgic in terms of the setup and I enjoyed the pizza just as much now as I did when I was a kid going to the neighborhood Pizza Inn. I loved the amount of choices on the buffet. They had all kinds of combinations of pizzas with some dessert pizzas added in. There was also a lasagna/spaghetti type of dish put out and a salad bar. The salad bar was unexpectedly large and well kept. The staff seemed to maintain a steady stream of fresh food and service. Several people seemed to be regulars and there were at least two sports teams that came while I was there. The restaurant was large enough to accommodate a fairly large crowd and there seemed to be sectioned off locations within the restaurant. I see why so many gave this place their approval. This place was delicious! We were passing through town to head to Asheville and I was STARVING! We love pizza and though hey why not. I am extremely happy that we tried it out because I can now claim a spot as my food stop spot whenever I am headed to Asheville. The customer service was amazing, pizza buffet had a great selection, was hot, the area was clean and my stomach was so happy. The restaurant is nice and clean. It's a big place and seems to be VERY popular so we were excited to visit. The service was ok... we were seated rather promptly for it to be so busy. However, we weren't given napkins as we had to ask for them. The server we had was rather attentive to other guests but not me and my daughters. I don't think I'd visit again. This was our first visit and it was set up by a high school friend of my husband. Seven old codgers and two tagalong wives met here for an unofficial reunion lunch. It's a buffet set up with a variety of pizzas on the serving line. There is also spaghetti and lasagna as well and a totally separate salad bar. Three of the dressings are made in house and the Blue Cheese is some of the best I've ever tasted! There is also a dessert pizza/pastry section. The favorite of our group was a cinnamon sweet roll type of pastry--EXCELLENT. Some of the selections were identified but most were not. I would have preferred to know exactly what each item was and what it contained. The pizzas were delicious with a really good sauce, moderately thick crust that tasted freshly made, and plenty of good, gooey, stringy cheese. I don't think we'll make a special trip to Clinton to return, BUT if we're ever in the area again, Dempsey's will be high on our list for a meal! read more
