Ok, franchise owner or corporate owner PLEASE TAKE NOTICE. It would appear that the 2 girls working the registers are complete morons and rude. I went in, no one said hello etc.. girl work attitude behind counter with extremely short fluorescent red hair. I asked which register should I be at, she said nothing at all! And moved to a register. "What can I get you" , to which I replied that I'd like some fried mushrooms.."is that it??", I then said no, I'd like a small drink too, "is that it???, I replied no, I'd like a buffalo blue salad, "is that it???" It would appear she had attitude and wanted me out of the place. So I told her my order was complete and have her my credit card. She swpied it, and I said are you done with my card? She didn't give it to me, I had to swipe it out of her hand. Then she left the register. Ok, I'm a bit perturbed by now, and then this other girl comes out, and I ask for my receipt. She asks the other girl, "is this his receipt??" She then replies, "my bad" . I get my receipt and then wait 15 min for my order, yet there is only 4 people in the kitchen 1 other person in the dining room and 1 car in drive through. I finally get my salad, and they give me the wrong dressing. PLEASE TAKE NOTE. Because of all the screwed up people working behind the counter and the ghetto atmosphere the exhibit, I will NEVER go back to this place. I will find another Zaxbys. We went there on July 1 with my elderly mother who has health issues. I was glad they opened the dining room up so she could enjoy her meal. The food was good. The employees very friendly, polite and professional. My only complaint is that all but 2 young men did not have their mask up properly while prepping the food. This was the first time my mother was taken out to eat because of the COVID virus and her health issues. All 4 of my family had masks on and the 2 young men had their bandanna mask on correctly, with this virus I have to be so careful with my mother. Again I enjoy coming there and enjoy the food. I ordered through Grubhub. The order was on time and the order was warm but that's understandable, I guess. I ordered a Zaxby's Snack and a Zalad. I paid for extra sauce because you can't change sauces on your order and extra ranch dressing. I get my order there is no sauce at all with my tenders and no extra. Also, there is no extra ranch dressing. I called the store and they said you can come pick up the extra items. Sir, if I could pick it up I wouldn't have ordered to have it delivered. Yesterday; on my way home from work. I stopped by Zaxbys on Todd's Lane to grab dinner. After ordering my food, I went to the window to pay. When I got to the window, I gave the woman at the window a $20.00 bill. After closing the window, she came back to tell me that the $20.00 bill was a fake. I then explained to her that the money was not fake as I just retrieved the money from a nearby bank. Soon after, her manager came to the window to see what was going on. He then ran the money through a machine twice, stating that it was a fake and that because of company policy, he had to keep it. We began to exchange words back and forth, at which time I told him, I am Veteran, who currently works for the Federal government, that's over six figures a year and would never jeopardize my career over a so called counterfeit 20 dollar bill. He then stated that I could either come inside to discuss or I could call the cops at which time I did. The cop arrived, at which time i explained the situation. He went inside and shortly came back outside stating that the employees told him that one manager told to keep the money, whereas someone from higher up said that they were to give me my money and suggest that I pay with another form of currency. It is a sad day and an embarrassment when a customer has to call the cops to retrieve their hard-earned money. Yes, it was only $20.00's, but it's the principle. The attitude that I received was unacceptable as if I was kind of criminal. It should never happen not now or ever! read more

Everyone's looking to knockoff the champ; they should know, however, that Chick-Fil-A is all but Teflon at point. I guess you can say that Zaxby's is the NKOTB trying to do just that - knockoff the champ! It's a 12 round flight, but a la 'Iron Mike', the fight is already over seconds into the 1st. I think Dennis R. has already done a great job of describing the interior. The worst part, I think, was the loud speakers that were used to call out the ticket numbers. Imagine some ambient music playing suddenly being interrupted with, "NUMBER 8, YOUR ORDER IS READY!" It's loud and happens every 15 - 20 seconds. I think they'd rather you eat and move on; it's a great way to turn tables. I went for the Fan Favorite Combo - 4 chicken tender, crinkle cut fries, Texas toast, and ZAX sauce. Anytime I hear the work Texas toast, I think of a partially toasted, overly buttered, until soggy, piece of thick bread. I went for 'no butter' AND unseasoned fries. I learned this lesson before. Overall the meal was nothing special. The tenders were OK, the fries were OK, but were over-portioned to amend for the small-ish tenders, the Texas toast was just toast, and the famous ZAX sauce was too salty and overpowered by paprika. I initially asked for a second container of ZAX sauce and was told to go to register to pay $0.25. Thanks, but no thanks. Zaxby's reminds me of Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers at ODU. I have never been to a Zaxby's I didn't like, but tonight was the first. The bathrooms were gross; toilets falling apart, the paper towel dispenser was broken, and there was no changing table to change my child's diaper! Service was poor. Cashier looked confused the whole time, and the lady who put my order together was clueless. She packed it to go, but when she handed it to me said "oh, this was supposed to be for here, wasn't it?" She also gave me the wrong sauce, and when I went to exchange it she said "oh I did see that on the order." Pure carelessness and negligence. I realize this is not a 5-star restaurant, but how hard is it for someone to do their job correctly? (The food was good, thank goodness. But the service and atmosphere will make me never return to this Zaxby's.) read more

I like Zaxby's. Good upscale chicken and wings. Moderatly priced and the portions are nice. I love the ambiance is nice.

I've only been through the drive thru but thats more than enough for this to be the worst Zaxby's I've ever been to. The employees are extremely rude when ordering and even at the window they treat you as if you're bothering them to ask for anything. I'm not sure who runs this establishment but they need to give their employees a lesson in customer service. read more

Ate here for the first time last weekend and it was the bomb diggity! I thought it was a bit pricey for a fast food joint, but you totally get a lot of food. I got the Wings and Things and picked buffalo as my sauce for my wangs. The woman who took my order, who was pleasant btw, actually verbalized a whole list of sauces that I could pick from, but my mind drifted after 'buffalo' and that's what I ended up picking. I was STUFFED after my meal; I should have eaten half and taken the rest home. My meal came with seasoned crinkle fries, buffalo wings, regular wings, celery and texas toast. The zax sauce you get is comparable to the yummy sauce from Raising Cane's. I knocked off one star because I thought the place was filthy. There was food and trash on the floor, and I'm pretty sure they had enough employees where one of them could clean up. Dirty floors and tables are just gross. I knocked off another star because one of the employees was just staring out the window at two little kids who, without the knowledge of their parents, ran out the restaurant and in to the parking lot. Like she was just watching them...um hello! Aren't you going to tell their parents? Geez! I was sitting there trying to digest, but I got up and told them myself. So, last night was my first time having Zaxby's. Although it was ok, my main gripe came from the fact that I bought (2) 5 finger plates and only got 4 pieces on each one instead. I'm not great with math, but I certainly can count to 10 and I definitely didn't get what I paid for. I would advise your folks to do a bit better in making sure the customer is getting what they paid for, no matter how small or trivial it is, if I wanted a 4 piece I would have ordered one. read more

Food is good. However the customer service is poor! Waited 15 minutes with no one in front of me to get served during lunch. They just kept walking by me like I wasn't standing there. We ate inside at Zaxby's in Hampton for the first time today. Most businesses could learn from Zaxby's customer service. It is great. Not once, not twice but three times someone came to our table to ask how our meal was. We both had the Blue salad. Very fresh, nicely cut vegetables and lettuce and the blackened chicken breast was the most moist and tender that we have had and neither of us like breast meat. The only drawback we saw was the location. It is not very visible from Mercury Blvd. so it is easy to drive by. Be on the lookout for it. It is worth it! Next time we will try the wings. They said you could order them naked even though it isn't listed on the menu as an option. read more

Employees walk around to see how you are doing and to all the people that don't like a comfortable environment go to the Wendy's down by ford and you will get the crappy service and food. I hate to say it but this is the worst Zaxby's I have been to. The food was okay, but the customer service was terrible. The cashier kept zoning out while we were talking to her and we literally had to repeat our questions over and over because she wasn't listening. When we received our drink cups there was hair on them and when we asked for new cups there was hair on the new ones too.. Also, the hot wings that came with our order were partially covered in the wing sauce and it seemed like our order was just thrown together haphazardly. This location definitely needs to improve on their customer service, and that's being generous. read more

I didn't understand why a fast food place would name itself Zaxby's....what a horrible name! So I kept my expectations low. The place was eat off the floor clean. The cashier took the time to explain every item on the menu to my wife (sorry). The menu focused on chicken but other proteins were available. Everything is cooked when ordered. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The portions were enormous. WOW! The guy at the other table ordered a salad that was a meal unto itself. How is this place still in business. I have tried this about three different times each time hoping that I was mistaken the first time. But every time it's a let down. The marketing for this place is cool the interior is clean and nice. However the food is always terrible. There's one common ingredient salt salt salt salt. The fries are salty, the toast is salty, the chicken is salty. Everything the salty salty salty. I really feel like they are trying to kill the customer. Of all the plate meals it appears that everyone is well over 100O calories most of them being half of your daily calorie in take or more. Ummmm...No. So I was really hungry and so was my cousin and her little one. After a few hours at the park we needed food. I'm almost never in this area so I certainly don't know the best places to eat on a budget. Zaxby's sends me one or two coupons every year, one for my birthday. I've always considered coming to redeem my free meal but never made it to the area. My cousin described it as fast food. But for some reason I felt this need to know the unknown. I regretted it as soon as I saw the menu. I could not make up my mind because nothing interested me. Nothing. I let my cousin order first. Still it took me a while. I got strips. They were okay. Nothing I would order again. Several of the "meals" don't come with drinks. My cousin had to order a large drink separately, but if you are dining in just pay for a smaller drink and get a free refill. I think my cousin ordered 9 strips and they only gave her one Zaxby's sauce. She was not happy! One sauce for all of that chicken. The cashier closed out her order when my cousin asked for another sauce. Ha! 50-80 cents! Cuz was not happy at all. That they charged for another sauce. Staff was really unfriendly, restaurant smelled like strong vinegar, drink machine was out of soda syrup so several drink options didnt work, and food was dry AND undercooked. The worst! Is the food good? Yes. Is it worth your money? Not so much. I have had multiple menu items and they all have been delicious but my biggest complaint just like everyone is if you are going to pay $7-$9 for a meal it could at least include a drink like everyone else in the fast food world. Been here about 5 times. The food is 3.5 stars. The atmosphere 1 star. There is no order. I get in a line that is not a line. People pass by and start another line. The order takers oblivious to the confusion. It seems the patrons have little manors. This is my first negative report for this location. The food was good, my order was correct. It's the cleanliness of the restaurant is the reason for my review. The ice machine on the coke dispenser is broken ice everywhere. Several employees were told so and no one cleaned it. Trash all over the counter where you get napkins and lids.
