Sophia and I have not been here in a year but are no strangers to CM Chicken. For years, we've either dined in or ordered takeout when they offered discounts. Right before we left for the Christmas trip home, we decided to stop by and catch up. Let's see how the visit went. There were hardly any people inside when we walked in which was perfectly fine with us. The staff as always greeted us before we got seated. And the vibe was very relaxed throughout. After a few minutes of looking over the order, we were ready. Mine consisted of honey chicken wings (10) and a side of curly fries. I had the honey chicken tenders previously and enjoyed my selection. So why not go with the flavor again?! The food itself was good. Never have I ever had a bad dish here so that streak is perfect. The wings were crunchy as always and the honey flavor wasn't too sweet for my palate. The curly fries, as always, were the perfect side. I actually saved half the food for dinner that evening where the taste wasn't that different. Thank you CM Chicken for delivering good eats. You know we'll be back for more soon :) read more

CM Chicken Hampton - Chicken Wings Near Me - Hampton, Virginia

A big staple of one of my favorite places for dinner. I don't know how they did it.. but somehow they got faster and better over time. Went in and it was not super busy and they're always so friendly to find a place for you. We sat down and were promptly asked what we wanted to drink and handed a menu. Got our drinks and then since we already knew what we wanted, we placed our orders. Here's the wild part - the food came in faster than a Mexican restaurant. At first I was skeptical as to how they managed to get it done so fast.. it can't be good. Welp one bite in and that quelled all those thoughts. Still delicious and incredible as can be. I'm so glad we found this place. Still a number 1 in my books for Korean chicken in the area. Food Taste: 5 Overall Service: 5 Value of food to cost: 5 Facility: 5 Ambiance: Small spot that is very simple and informal. Very quaint, just a handful of spots with a few at the bar. This was really good. I loved that it was made to order, fresh and hot. I didn't love that there was no lemon pepper option. Soy garlic is delicious, but I don't want to always have a sugary sauce. Service was great and fast. read more

If you like korean fried chicken in general, you would definitely like this place. I really really like the hot spicy one, even though I thought it would burn the living inside of my mouth. In reality, it was about a 6/10 on spice. It built up a little bit, but they had a nice amount of sweetness along with the gochujang, and I really enjoyed the blend of flavors. If you like the spicy buldak ramen I'm sure you might like this too. We ordered a lot of the flavors, including curry, snow, garlic, soy, honey, garlic, lemon, and finally the hot spicy one they're all really good in their own respective ways and even the original chicken itself was really good. If you're afraid of spice, I think the garlic soy or the curry ones are your best bet. I really enjoyed both of them, but especially the garlic soy. The sauce was sweet, umami, and tangy and allowed the chicken to still be crispy underneath. Better than other restaurants like Bonchon. The lemon was really nice too. I love the scallions. They had a little bit of brightness to the dish. The lemon scallions were good mixed with the other flavors. The service was awesome. The lady, who I assume was the owner, was super nice to us along with the waiter. They gave us a lot of time to wait for a whole party to arrive and they gave us recommendations and made sure to advise us on the menu. We had one person in our party that had peanut allergies and she clarified that all the stuff they cook does have a little bit of peanut oil so if you are really allergic to peanuts, I would definitely avoid this place but apart from that you will definitely enjoy eating here. CM chicken is a franchise if you didn't know so if you like this spot and are not local to the area, I'm sure there might be a spot close by to you wherever you reside on the East Coast. read more

The restaurant was not busy, but it was windy and rainy out, when we walked in. The server immediately came and took our drink order. Came back quickly with drinks and answered some questions we had about spice levels. I ordered the garlic spicy wings with curly fries and my co-worker got the garlic soy wings with curly fries. The food came out quickly and served hot and fresh. The wings were AMAZING! Not too spicy and had a delicious flavor. The fries were good as well. To be honest, the wings were filling enough that I could've left off the fries. Definitely worth giving a shot! read more

Yum delish can't say anything else I love their chicken wings plain. They have a hint of spice but it is not over powering.

I don't know what's happened in a couple of months. I haven't been here, but it did not taste the same. I don't know if the oil was older, however, the chicken seem to be less and more expensive. Not entirely sure how that happened. The taste wasn't even the same usually get the soy garlic and something was unfortunately just lacking today read more

I love Korean fried chicken so much that I drove an hour to get here just for their food. They are one of the best Korean fried chicken places in Virginia. There used to be one nearby, but it closed down during the pandemic. I tried two different locations after that, but neither had Tikkudan. Tikkudan is a fried chicken dish where the chicken (wing or tender) is coated with sauce and then put back into the oven to cook. This method helps the chicken absorb the flavor of the sauce and prevents it from getting soggy. The finished product has a light charcoal flavor. I noticed the price is getting higher since the pandemic. they offered lunch special which is not really anything special when the price is lower but portion cuts half. Service was a bit off, the waitress gave us the menu then never came back to take order, i had to walk over to the counter and saw they were just talking behind the counter ignoring the customers. read more

Great food and great service. We had questions about the menu and the waitress gave great and detailed explanations. It was quiet first thing on a Sunday, so we had a easy going vibe. The bulgogi meat was tender and flavorful with great portion size, the tteokbokki was perfectly spicy, and the wings were tender, saucy and so so crunchy. Will go again. read more

I've been here previously, but it's been awhile and I don't think I've ever left a review...so here goes :) I went with some coworkers for lunch and everything was great. Fast, friendly service and the food came out quick and piping hot. I also used the restroom to go wash my hands prior to eating and it was clean and well kept. Thank you for a great meal in a clean environment! read more

Number one on my extensive list of outstanding hot wing joints. Asian twist with a spicy garlic wing that's crunchy, juicy, hot and sweet all at the same time. After seeing a well-known YouTube chef rave about this restaurant, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, our experience was nothing like what we saw online. Honestly, it felt like the restaurant must have paid him for that glowing review, because we did not receive anything close to the same quality or service. We ordered two types of wings. The first order was made completely wrong. We specifically asked for the sauce to be poured onto the wings and to have the onions on the side. When the food arrived, there was no sauce on the wings at all. We also ordered chicken gizzards, but they didn't come out until we were already walking up to the counter to pay for our food. Overall, it was a disappointing visit, and we will not be returning. read more

I ordered chicken tenders, tasted very good, fries were served first in basket with paper liner. Top complaint price seperate for each item no combo with side and drink. 2nd no military or any discount, 3rd no free refills on drink serve you bottled or can soda. The place Had single row of tables sitting beside wall. Most customer took order to go. Menu had price increases wrote in, instead of printing new menu. Overall food good price to high no discounts or specials available. read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but this is by far my favorite wing spot and I figured I'd show them some love. The service is always great, people are so nice, and the food is next level. Gotta get the spring onion with wings or tenders, in any of the sauces, they're all amazing. Everything is cooked to perfection and consistency is on point, I'm always satisfied when I go here. read more

CM Chicken Hampton - Spicy garlic wings, soy spring onion, and fries - Chicken Wings Near Me - Hampton, Virginia

My girl had the spicy wings. I had soy and ginger tikkudak. I googled tikkudak. It means the chicken gets fried then grilled. This was some of the best fried chicken either of us have ever had. If u read my other reviews you will see that my gf and I can be pretty critical. We both come from hospitality backgrounds. This place in Hampton is FIRE!! Fried fresh, extra crispy but not over cooked. Sauces are perfect. This is the first restaurant I've been to in a while where the flavor simply blew me away, I wanted to go back the next day and try something else. Go here. You won't regret it. read more

Beyond delicious. Worth the money. Will definitely go again and take people with me. Glad they are in Ohio.

Korean Fried Chicken. Cant beat it. Got some for my my mom and her work (they are all Korean) and they couldnt stop talking about it. only down fall, is its pricey for what you get. I rank my decisions to eat somewhere again as: 1 star - if someone else buys it I won't eat it, I would rather go hungry. 2 star - if I'm hungry, no other options are open and someone buys it - I would consider eating it 3 star - I'm ok with eating it as long as someone else pays 4 star - I will eat again and pay for it and be a semi-regular customer 5 star - I will travel for good food and pay good money and be back on a regular basis and maybe even pay for yours just so we can go read more

I ordered the lemon chicken, side of kimchi. The food was very small portions for the high prices. The lemon chicken was five pieces for $18, the lemon sauce was put on the side, when I got home most of the lemon sauce had spilled out into the bag - I was able to taste a little of it and it seemed to be made of tahini and lemon juice. The chicken was regular fried chicken, a bit bland but cooked well . The kimchi side was $5, it was ok. read more

The KFC was pretty solid here! The only complaint is that for the long wait, I wished it came out hot. When my wings came out, the temperature of my wings were a bit below warm. I'm not sure what the issue was but that's just my expectations for KFC. I ordered a side of the snow onion and they gave me a full plate. There was no way I was able to finish that. The sauce was like a cream with thinly sliced onions. I could've done without it but wanted to try. It would pair well if you're eating super hot wings. I opt for the soy garlic wings instead. Overall, the customer service was good. If you're a KFC lover, I highly recommend trying this restaurant. The texture is different from most places I've been to. The other dishes on the menu sounds amazing as well. read more

Today was my second visit to this hidden gem of a Korean chicken joint. My first visit was a week ago and I tried their Tikkudan Red Hot Pepper wings...a fried and then oven-baked delight per bite. The sauce on those wings was spicy, but not too hot and slightly sweet. It almost reminds me of a sweet and tangy sriracha. This new visit I partook of Tikkudan Curry Tenders which I covered in my side of Snow Onions. I also had kimchi on the side with a Diet Pepsi. The kimchi was very flavorful with a hint of heat. The Tikkudan Curry Tenders were quite thick and meaty. They were cooked to crispy perfection. The curry sauce on them was really nice. It had a medium heat to it. But if I had to choose between the previously tried Red Hot Pepper sauce and the Golden Curry sauce, I'd pick the Pepper sauce hands down. The Snow Onions was a sliced raw white onion drenched in a sweet, zesty, white and creamy sauce. Amazingly tasty. They do offer Snow Onion smothered chicken here, but it limits you on the flavor you can have your actual chicken sauces in. So I just got the Snow Onion as a side and covered my tenders in them myself. Now for the elephant in the room for some based on other reviews I've read. Pricing. CM Chicken is quite pricey for a chicken spot. 10 wings is going to run you about $18, tenders about $16, sides run from $5 minimum on up. But the real vale seems to be a whole chicken for around $28. So expect to pay for this quality of Korean dining. As someone who works for a living I feel I deserve a treat sometimes. So while I may not be coming to CM Chicken on a daily or weekly basis, I damn sure will keep coming back for the occasional treat. It's too good to stay away and I find myself craving this uniquely tasty chicken. It's the best fried chicken I've had in this area, no doubt about it. read more

We love CM Chicken, especially their gizzards. And service is always exceptional. We have eaten in and taken out often.

Great place! Delicious pizza and wings. Fast service. Friendly staff. Good ambiance. The place has lots of parking.

I love me some good chicken. Typically going into a chicken place I get as expected, average wings with sauce. I go to a lot of chicken spots and I can tell you that they caught me off guard. The chicken wings and drums are big and they are covered with sauce. It's basically a mountain. I ordered the snow onion. The onions were freshly cut made my eyes water. They knew exactly what they were doing. There was enough sauce to cover even the wings hidden at the bottom and just enough oil to make them perfectly crisp and not too greasy to where it gets on your hands or make you sick. They fr ate and left no crumbs with these dishes. Period sis gave me what I asked for and more. read more

Worst experience! Chicken was iced cold. The Mountain Dew soda was the best part of the meal...

This place actually blew my mind. I looked up the place and the honey garlic chicken sounded really good. So I took a chance. The service was quick. I put my order in online and it was ready within 10 minutes. The place was a little hole in the wall. It was nice. The chicken was suuuuuper juicy and the flavor was chefs kiss. I definitely found a new lunch spot. read more

The taste is amazing and breading on the wings/tenders/drumsticks are at the perfect crunch level. That is it! I do not condone on charging $3 per wing plus Hampton roads 13.5% tax. It just doesn't sit right with me. Just hear me out, pandemic prices lingered around but some need to be brought down from that inflation adjustment. The price per whole chicken is not bad. Other than that it's a great place and friendly staff. read more

The chicken is the bomb! Juicy, lots of flavor and delightfully crunchy.  You wouldn't expect it but this little place packs a punch in flavor. The staff was kind and very time efficient. Everything came out quickly, hot and delicious.  Their menu has a wide variety of fried chicken but the soy garlic is a must! It was perfectly crispy and you can choose from tangy, spicy or garlic flavor.  I'm glad to have found another place for delicious Korean fried chicken in the 757.  Would definitely come here again and highly recommend! read more

Straight up! Hold the phone! Smack your momma cause this place is FINGER LICKIN' GOOD...no, really, don't smack your momma cause she'd smack you back... But that is literally how I felt after eating this chicken. I've lived in South Korea for a year and across the street from my apartment was a place EXACTLY like CM Chicken! Amazing flavor, fried to perfection, juicy on the inside and crunchy spiciness on the outside. Its the perfect combination of flavor, spice, and heat. Each order is served with picked radish cubes, just like in Korea. I was literally in heaven!!! The menu is a good selection of different flavors and you can choose from a whole chicken or less, depending on how much leftovers you want. Me? I went with two whole chickens worth. Lol. And im glad I did my mouth was on fire, my taste buds were tickled pink and my tummy was extremely happy. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place read more

So Korean Chicken has come to the Peninsula in this little spot in Colosseum Crossings near Peninsula Town Center In a strip mall and newly renovated building, CM Chicken explores the uniqueness of Korean Fried Chicken. What makes this fried chicken different? Well its fried not once to to lock in flavor, bit also a second time for unique crunchy-ness. Then, its dipped in a sauce of your choice or piled high with a topping on it. The restaurant is beautiful and fresh! Service is friendly and fast. Nice decor and TV monitors around the place. Only thing is they are tuned to Korean Television Shows so if you can't speak Korean..... Our server was nice and made some suggestions which we appreciate. I hade the Soy Chicken and my Valentines Date for the night (my wife) had chicken gizzards with fries. She loved the gizzards, crisp on the outside but moist and tender on the inside. My chicken was the same, not too much soy, it was mild and not overwhelming so you can taste it with the chicken. To round out the flavor, its served with picked radish to give that one of a kind Korean flair. Now you're gonna get sauce on your hands so plenty of napkins are provided. They also have small chicken bone buckets at each table for bone disposal. Now sides don't come with the meal; as a matter of fact, when ordering be sure and tell your server to bring the sides out with the chicken cause if you don't, those sides will come first. Also, a plate of fries and coleslaw was $4.99 each YIKES! Is it me, or has prices increased on everything in 2020? The place also serves beer, except not tonight because the liquor license from ABC will be in about two weeks. That really bothered me, why even open if everything is not ready to go? Bathrooms needed some attention and there was no soap to wash the sticky sauce off your hands. You can pay by scanning a barcode on your check with your mobile device which I thought was very convenience. Overall not a bad experience. I left feeling satisfied. The place has a couple of knocks and crannies to straighten but that's expected with new places. Give them a try! Happy Yelping!!! read more
