On a Tuesday evening we ventured out for bulgogi, Korean beef. Local venue, Koreana, located behind Raising Cane of Victory Blvd in York County/Kiln Creek is a new iteration of the previous hibachi eatery, Misagi, with the same owners and a new enthusiastic manager, Aaron. This is a specious dining area and full service bar with cook at your table barbeque. The all you can eat menu is under $30 with so many meat options all prepared front and center and served right off the coals! The side dishes, seasonings, sauces, appetizers all served with wonderful taste blends and portions. We tried beef bulgogi, chicken bulgogi, pork belly, spicy beef bulgogi, seafood pancake, and brisket. The side dumplings were really tasty! Kimchi, pickled radish, ginger, zucchini and green salad were all superior! The manager and owners are onsite, attentive front and center. Aaron is planning happy hour, trivia and karaoke nights. Groups could have a wonderful time gathered around the on table grill trying all kinds of authentic Korean offerings. Couples can enjoy a different kind of dining experience for a special meal or just dining out. We chose this restaurant because it came highly recommended by a friend who had previously enjoyed dining here. Unfortunately, even my friend commented that the service this time was nothing like her first experience. Our party of eight chose the all-you-can-eat menu, but the experience did not live up to that expectation. Service was extremely slow, and we repeatedly had to ask for more food. At one point, we were even told they had run out of certain items. We were also limited to only two meat selections at a time for the entire table, and each guest was not allowed to order the meats they personally wanted. That made the "all-you-can-eat" experience feel unnecessarily restrictive. Our bill was just over $250, and when it came time to pay, the owner accidentally undercharged us. We wanted to make sure we paid the correct amount, but instead of helping resolve the mistake professionally, the owner became visibly upset, stormed away, and repeatedly said, "No tip, no tip," while huffing in frustration. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially since we were trying to correct the error. The dining room floor was also extremely greasy, which created an unpleasant impression. We were only the second table in the restaurant, so it wasn't due to a busy rush. The only positive part of our visit was another server who apologized for the owner's behavior and helped us get the bill corrected. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant. Between the poor service, the restrictions on the all-you-can-eat menu, the cleanliness concerns, and the owner's unprofessional behavior, it was not worth the price. If you're advertising an all-you-can-eat experience, customers should be able to enjoy it without feeling limited or discouraged from ordering more. read more

This place is a hidden gem in Yorktown. My family and I came with a group of 10 people and we were seated right away. We did the all you can eat Korean bbq and it was amazing. The sides were great. Kimchi, pickled radish, bean sprouts, and glass noddles were all very good. The gyozas were also delicious. They have some of the best quality brisket I have seen. My family also really enjoyed the marinated ribs. Service was immaculate. Waters and drinks were filled right away. They even offered to cook for us if we hadn't been to a Korean bbq before. We also had some soju that was good. They were very friendly and helpful when we asked questions. Meats were constantly being brought to us as we ordered. I've been wanting to try this place and I was in the area. I called first to see if they were opened (bc of the recent winter storm) and if so, place my to-go order. The guy in the phone (who I think is one of the owners - poss husband and wife?) said it'll be ready in 15-20 mins. I get there and he said it would be a few more minutes. The food was absolute delicious. My daughter devoured the edamame. Then bento box lunch special had SO much food. It was all flavorful and delicious. The employees/owners are so ridiculously sweet. They also have all you can eat, which I want to try one day. Def want to return! read more

It's absolutely NOT an "all you can eat buffet" as advertised from this place (Koreana Restaurant). This restaurant is one of the worst ones that my family and I went out there for buffet. We wanted the buffet based from the menu indicated. There are many 4, 5 stars reviews, what are they saying? We don't know. Did they know the Korean buffet food soo good, maybe not right? What did we have there? It's not the food that lack of freedom selection and various styles of service. There are almost side dishes which we had difficult times calling for refills (actually not a freedom of eating here). Therefore, there's a lot of things that need to be improved in this Korean restaurant, from the greeting to the way offering the menu. From the service to the way the restaurant treated customers the meaning of buffet (all you can eat) term. No, we can not come back here, we won't ever come back this place again. The best All you can eat Korean food in the 757 PERIOD! The service was amazing and the waitress was an older Korean lady who was so kind. She kept telling us "Eat eat, hurry order more food!" So we could get the bang for our buck. She always came back and constantly checked. Wasted time. Went there at 11am, normal hours the restaurant suppose to open but Nobody was in the front register even though the entrance door was already open for customers to just walk in. But not a single worker was inside the restaurant. We waited 28 mins but nobody came to the front to greet us, we even called the restaurant but noone was answering...creepy. & also what a waste of fckin time. read more

Traveled down to Newport News for work and decided to try this new Korean BBQ place. I grew up around "Korean Central" Centreville/Fairfax VA so very familiar with Korean BBQ. I'm very impressed with the service (they were understaffed today but did the best they can) and the charcoal smoked meat flavor. Portion size was generous and they use Charcoal instead of gas to grill the meat so the smoke really enchanced the meat flavor. I can't comment on their other dishes like sushi but I highly recommend you check out this place if you're craving some authentic grilled Korean BBQ (owners are Korean and very friendly). Also, for those who experienced Korean BBQ joints, you'll appreciate the large vent they have at the table sucking out most of the smoke so it doesn't get in your face and clothes.
