Zara clothes and prices can't be beat. The staff at Pentagon City on the other hand is awful. Chatting with each other all the time so you feel as though you are interrupting their fun to ask a question. The check out wait was ridiculous. Due to covid circumstances it is no wonder they have many returns. And as the cashiers work through the returns they chat chat chat. Stop every now and then to make a point and eye contact with the unhelpful staff lingering at the counter. I was in line for a solid 11 minutes. The dude on the register never shut up, it was painful to witness. Laughed with GLEE after telling the person in front of me they couldn't return an item. Why not open more registers I asked. Bullshit response, no apology. Went back to the chat chat chat. There were 23 people in the two lines behind me. Figure it out corporate Zara. I fell in love with Zara while living in Germany. I was excited when the store open at Pentagon mall. The store is well organized and the employees are always willing to help. Personally I prefer the store at Tysons. If Pentagon don't have my size in an item, I can count on Tyson's to have it. read more

TERRIBLE went in for the sale picked up 2 items, waited in line for 30 minutes and when i got to the register the items were rung up and ended up being 3x the price they were ticketed at. I asked the girl why the price was so high and she said they were ticketed wrong. Did not communicate this to me before I was about to pay. Absolute waste of time and a horrible location. Clothes: Quality feeling clothes. I think the fashion is particularly for metrosexual males, and women into high fashion. I'm def not someone into the fashion scene, but I do like the quality of clothes, and the length of time they last. Price: Word of advice that I learned from my wife, only buy during their sale seasons. Apparently they only happen twice a year. Stick to that, and you'll win a good bang for your buck. Service: Don't walk into this place expecting anyone to greet you, to ask if you've found what you're looking for, or short lines. I walked in (on more than at least 3 occasions) and no one greets you at all. It's just not a thing for them. I'm pretty sure this alone would boost their ratings. Warm welcomes can change it all for you if you're a store like this. Also, last time I was here there was a conundrum due to the long line of people (11) trying to check out... **wait for it**... with only one cash register open on the first floor. The challenge was that there were four cashiers upstairs and not much of a long line. The customers were visibly and verbally upset by this. Although in a rude manner, customers did ask for another cashier to come to the first floor. The response from Zara staff was that customers could go upstairs to check out. One customer explained how rude it was to suggest this to customers. Overall, I thought it was handled poorly on both sides (customers should approach challenges like this with honey instead of vinegar, and Zara staff should seek ways to ensure customer satisfaction upon entry and the journey to exiting their establishment). I stopped by on Black Friday, though in the late afternoon when crowds were a bit less. The store was in a relative state of disarray, not totally unexpected. That being said, I was able to find a few items I liked and tried them on in the fitting room without any problems. The trouble came during checkout. The line was at least 25 people deep, but with 4 or 5 employees manning the registers, that isn't a terrible ratio. The line crept along at an infinitesimally slow pace, until I finally reached the register and realized why. The employees don't care. The woman checking me out moved at a snail's pace, casually and loudly chatting away with the employee manning the register next to her. Occasionally she would turn her attention back to my transaction, but never fully, and certainly never quickly (but so inconvenienced). I was up there for over 10 minutes to purchase 3 items, which is unacceptable. It was as if they were getting paid to chat, with manning the registers being an optional side gig. It was incredibly frustrating, and I wasn't the only one feeling that way. This store needs to do a much better job staffing employees that actually care, and will work efficiently on a Black Friday of all days! read more

The only good thing about this place is the location and size of the store. Every single member of the staff has such an attitude and are visibly annoyed at customers, the lines are incredibly long and you get the sense that everyone hates their job. My boyfriend had a ridiculous interaction the other day at the store when one of the employees let her friend cut the line, my boyfriend mentioned some thing about that and the staff was defending the cut when she clearly walked up to her friend in front of the long lines we waited 30 minutes in. The cashier then refused to check him out because she was "annoyed" he was t happy about her friend cutting in line. How does that make sense? I hope someone reads all of these reviews that other people have left and do something about the team there because they really lack customer service and dampen the Zara brand. read more

The cashiers after prompting from her colleague only to proceed to curse me out. Literally dropping F bombs all over the place. She's going back and forth with me because I wasn't patient enough and then tells me she beats people up. So essentially if I wasn't in the store she would beat me up. I asked for the manager and she's literally still cursing me out in front of the manage which obviously goes to show that this was acceptable behavior. Worst customer service. Quality of clothes not worth the ridiculous return policy Zara has. Went through interrogation to return a coat that was poorly made and ripped on the second wear. Had to call Zara corporate to return a coat and I didn't get help until I wrote a tweet. Had to wait a week to get "approval" to return a coat that was poorly made. If you must shop at Zara, don't go to Pentagon City. Long lines, awful manager who insinuated that I the customer was responsible for the tear. Whole process was unnecessarily stressful for a coat that was over priced in the first place and then poorly made. Zara truly sucks! read more

Went to the store (where i originally purchased) to return a pair of pants that ripped within an hour of wearing them. I was instructed that since the tags weren't attached i would have to contact customer service. I had the receipt and detached tags. Customer service was closed at this point so it was all a waste of time. It's the most ridiculous & inconvenient experience. I would give their customer service a zero if I could. I stood in line to return one pair of jeans for 30 minutes. The return line was to the middle of the store and there was only one person at the register doing any of the returns. They then proceeded to tell us the downstairs counter was now accepting returns. Half of the line went downstairs only to come back up 15minutes later to tell the cashier no one came to the downstairs register to help them. After watching the other two cashiers run through multiple purchase transactions I finally walked over to one of them and asked her to return my item as someone needed to help the other cashier who could barely process a return without calling her manager every five minutes. The girl behind the register looked at me and told me she couldn't do it. She then proceeded to chat with the other cashier who was just standing there behind the register doing nothing. They didn't even return to the sales floor to help customers or clean up. Do they not train their team members to be able to run a register for all transactions?! I was a store manager for years and you better believe if my associate was at the register they would know how to do more then just a purchase. Why did the manager not jump on and help her team when she saw how long the line was?!?! I can't say many good things about Zara's customer service in their stores but this was by far the worst Zara I've ever been to. read more

This store is getting one star because the customer service is HORRIBLE. I live in the neighborhood and come to this mall all of the time. I have NEVER had any employee say hello. Also I found a cute coat thrown on a rack and asked a male worker did he know where that rack of coats was located. He said NO and went back about his business. This is the only Zara I have been to that has uniformed security and they check bags! I will be damned if I ever let security look through my purchases here or at Wal-Mart. And EVERY time, im reminded of the bad service, long line, and EVERY time I come in here it's SO junky! It feels like a flea market. I must admit.. I only waited in line 15mins Vs the usually 20/25mins so that has improved. But this store is grossly mismanaged. There are clothes and shores all over the floor! EVERYWHERE! There was a ketchup package smear on the floor for the entire 30mins I was there. I even saw employee walk over it. I love the Zara brand. Wasted half my day here. The dressing rooms were closed so I couldn't try anything on. I bought a pair of shorts anyways and I spent almost half an hour in line checking out. When I tried on the short in the Express fitting room they didn't fit and I had to wait another 15 minutes in line trying to return them but was told I had to go upstairs to make a return. I then spend another 20 minutes waiting in line upstairs before I could finally return the shorts. The whole time staff was walking around folding already folded clothes just to look busy instead of opening up another register. Terrible experience overall read more

Don't bother. Just shop online. 30-50 min lines every time I come. With the exception of one amazing woman with red hair, the entire staff is completely all over the place and doesn't seem to know how to do their job. I've been back to return an item on two separate occasions and ultimately had to leave before doing what I came to do because I didn't have 45 minutes to waste in line. It's been like this for months. I'd get it if they were just opening up after COVID but they have had months to hire more employees and get their act together. Not to mention they're completely unapologetic about the fact that they consistently have long lines. I asked them to hold my clothes it took me an hour to gather, my girlfriend called she was getting fitted for glasses on the third floor and asked that i come help here choose. I'm not a stickler for customer service but I mean sometimes it just stands out way more than others. As soon as I walked in (yesterday) I was greeted by the gentleman working security. As I shopped around, I was encountered several times by a young woman/girl associate that if looks could kill well then I wouldn't be here anymore. This went on for awhile as I was there for a some time. A few other associates had the same demeanor and it was just getting old. I checked out and was greeted by a nice young guy that was pleasant and helpful with some questions I had and clearly couldn't ask the girls on the floor. I think it's a shame when you encounter these types of attitudes and it's also a shame when you have a job and can't get over yourself. A job is a job and plenty of people need them if you don't want yours. I did encounter some friendly faces but not enough to not write this review. read more
