While traveling through Mentor during a road trip, we wanted to give our car a quick wash to remove some of the dearly departed insects on our front bumper. A local suggested that we stop by Zappy's for a $3 car wash. They had several options ranging from the Basic for $3 on up to the $17 Platinum wash, which is what we opted for. Unfortunately, even with the power wash spray before entering the automatic wash tunnel, some of our splattered hitchhikers still remained. We drove back around to ask if they had a guarantee that would allow us another trip through, but they did not. One of the employees did offer to manually scrub them off for us. He grabbed a cloth and some cleaner and removed the insects on the bumper and took time to address a few spots on the windshield as well. The service was fast, thorough and efficient. If ever in the area, we would definitely stop by again. read more

I asked if the under carriage wash was working and I was told yes, yet after my wash on three separate occasions, the under side of my car was dry, salt still caked onto the metal. They use a temporary close sign when cars back up. I have a membership and had to circle the area 4 times before I could get in. They have free coupons in the papers and members get to wait or like me just leave. I've had to go to other car washes and pay $10.00 to $16.00 when I have a membership at Zappy. read more

I received a gift card along with my husband for 100 dollars on each card. When I made the appointment to have my car done it said it would be 90 dollars for a FULL interior detailing. When I got there they upcharged for an additional 20 dollars for hair which is human hair as I have no dogs or animals in my car. And sand. I sucked it up and paid the extra. The worker did a great job unfortunately he works for a crappy company. He said he would get in trouble for not adding the extra on. So I still had my husband's car to take in and since we have never been to the beach with his car and he hasn't much hair it should be fine. Well they had to upcharge again. This time it was because of a small white line from salt. Then he ran my gift card and it wouldn't take. Then he said it was for car wash only. My daughter bought it for the detailing for us. Then when he spoke with "corporate " they could only offer half of what she paid because it was on sale now for half off. Please do not use this place. All it is, is a racket. For some reason our card was kicked off their automatic payment car wash. We waited in line for 30 minutes to wash our car and when we got to the front of the line the kid said our card was denied. There is no way our card was bad but he wouldn't even check the number again. He just told us we had to back up and leave so he had to make everyone else back up. He was very rude. Two months and two phone calls later, still no refund or promise as to when. We took our ford explorer in about a week ago to book an appointment for an interior detailing. The man, after evaluating our vehicle, said $100 and we booked the appt. When we got there today, a young man (apparently brand new), before even opening a door to look inside, told us that there would an up charge. Apparently someone had told him to tell us that.. it felt like a scam. He looks at our car for half a second and started rolling his eyes saying 'this is a nightmare' and 'Jesus' then told us it would be an additional $50 for the 'hair'. We have two large dogs so we agreed. My husband gets a call about 10 minutes later saying it'll be ANOTHER $50 because we have a 'large' vehicle. Why wasn't that our original quote when the first guy booked us? This place is a scam. I'm guessing their 'up charges' are pocketed by the employees. Willowick location. Hit or miss if their pay stations accepts a credit card. A few days ago I tried both lanes, and several different credit cards, and a read error each time. I called their "customer service number", and I can grow older waiting for their return call. This has happened before, but usually one of my cards will read, but not this time. Another customer in a Mercedes had the same issue and we both left. Sure, I could go elsewhere, but this wash is both convenient and inexpensive, and when it works, it's a very good wash! They need to invest in new credit card readers... they'll pay for themselves with added revenue for everyone to get a wash who drives in. read more

I have placed my report from 7/23/25. The receptionist is very nice and helpful but this business is not. Sign says 100% satisfaction guaranteed. They don't live by that sign.On July 23, I put 20.00 in for an 11.00 car wash. The machine shorted me 5.00 and said to contact a number to get reimbursed. I asked for a receipt . Machine gave no receipt. As I pulled into the wash the water gave one squirt no wash. i am an old lady, I like this car wash but have not had my car wash since July. I have called a number of times and the receptionist said the lady has not reviewed my account. Do I really believe they have camera footage from July. I feel I have been very patient. I got both cars a monthly subscription the 10.99 a month from the attendant. just noticed my bank statement id been charged 37 every month for one of them. I called to be reimbursed and was told the man I needed to speak to wasn't there. She said if I wanted to get the lower package I had to go do it on line. I said your attendant made a mistake and I have to jump through hoops to correct it? She then admitted she could do it and suddenly the man I needed to talk to about reimbursement was there after all - because it took me so long to notice the over charge he claimed there was nothing he could do about it. He said "usually people reach out right away" leading me to believe this is a recurring issue that they aren't addressing. Horrible customer service, dont appreciate being lied to. He even straight up said the only people above him were the owners "and they don't care and won't help you". There was no discernible difference in the washes. Left our van smelling absolutely horrid and it lasted FOR WEEKS. Had to hire another service to re- shampoo the upholstery and buckets of dirty water came out. Zero customer service, zero quality. DO NOT USE THIS CAR WASH. Equipment is never in working condition. The Cleveland St location card readers do not work 90% of the time. The bill to coin machine will take all your bills and never spit the quarters out. The machines with the accessories to help wash will also eat the coins and never disperse the merchandise. The vacuums are a hit or miss. I tried to go use the Abbe Rd. Location today instead - lane was taking the cards but was out of order - no sign. definitely took my money three times for one 10.00 wash. When I left - you couldnt even tell my car had just been washed. Why are they allowing the machines to take money if they know the equipment is out of order? The basic wash is just the same as all other washes. They are scamming people. I'm still waiting to hear back from the complaints I've been filing them for over a year now. There's nobody ever on site to help you. Generally when I need to get the salt off I employ a touchless car Wash however I had a gift certificate and decided to go through zappy's. They kept shutting the car wash down and I don't know why but I did find out later that they have some of the features were malfunctioning. First I'm aware it's below freezing and it's cold but there is ice and grime and crap all over the side of my car and it doesn't make sense that the guy with the wand Only Hits one side of your car he doesn't bother to go around to the other side which would totally make sense being that I had a $12 car wash. Instead makes a lackadaisical half assed spray job on my windshield and then I went through. As soon as I got up to the freshwater rinse there was a dispenser of some sort that was belching just huge cobs of foam which in my life I don't think I've ever seen so much in the way of bubbles. I was really hoping that there was something else to rinse the bubbles off unfortunately this was not the case. My last ditch effort was to hope that the blowers would somehow contribute to the bubbles going away. While the blowers did a pretty decent job of removing most of the foam that was dumped on my car after the rinse in home with foam Frozen to my mirrors my back glass and the sides of my truck. I've been a pretty loyal customer for years but I think I've had it. They're not putting any money into this wash it doesn't seem to work right I never get the soap off of my car and I'm tired of wasting my time here. This review is for the Zappy's car wash on Mentor Avenue, by Chillicothe and Old Heisley Roads. It is the only Zappy's I've been to that actually gets your car clean because it does use brushes and strips that touch your car. The touchless Zappy's car washes I've been to on Euclid Avenue in Willowick and on Vine Street in Willoughby are not effective. They have always left visible dirt on my white Jeep Compass. The Mentor Avenue Zappy's is decent and the people working there have always been pleasant. I typically buy the $9.00 'Ultimate' wash, which is just one notch below their top-of-the-line wash. My car has always come out pretty spotless and smelling great. This very last time, on June 1, however, the rinse cycle was terrible, leaving soap residue on my windows. I let the manager know and showed him how spotty my car was. He was very polite and ran me through the same wash cycle a second time. The suds were worse and they just didn't rinse clean. Not sure what happened this time around, but I was disappointed. The car was very clean and smelled great, but soap residue was everywhere. Thankfully, I did not have a dark colored car. I will return, for sure, in spite of the latest incident. I've been here dozens of times and received a good wash. I will not rely on the touchless washes again--use only for a rinse in winter. read more

Went to the Chardon location where I have had vehicles washed over 100 times. Experienced some sort of mechanical issue with their brushes then realized that my windshield was cracked. I reported it to the attendants and filed a claim online. Received an email their attorney trying to claim the windshield was likely damaged before I went into the car wash. He stated that his client and their mechanics were "emphatic" their machines were working properly and later admitted that there was a hydraulic issue with there equipment. Refused to share surveillance video, refused to allow to take pictures of the equipment, refused to share equipment information so I could get an outside opinion. Not so much as an offer to even cover the cost of the carwash that was never completed. These guys are crooks. Now I have to take them to court. read more

By far, the worst car detailing service I have ever seen or had. Anytime a place of business doesn't care about customer service or its customers should not be in business. They stole $80 dollars from me and didn't give me the wax job that I had paid for but instead gave me spray wax with a microfiber cloth. My car was done in 30 minutes. There is no way you can wax a car in 30 minutes!!!! It looked the same way I brought it in!! The manager told me, "Oh well, you don't like it, then pay another $80.00, and we'll redo it!!! UNBELIEVABLE!! How about you fix the problem or just stick your lousy carwashes and leave detailing alone!!!!!! One car in the garage and no one else there except me (second day I tried) could see through the glass them screwing off and left me outside for 30 min. before someone came out. time was 3:00pm they stay open till 8 and the kid says they won't have time to do the car for at least 3 hours if I want to wait or come back at 7:30 am to get a simple vac and wipe because you can only get your car done if you come that early. Never takes out the ear pods and I am picturing in my head all the cars lined up to make the am time and it was just bull. they wanted an early night off. Liars when the cats away the mice will play. I paid extra because they were supposed to buff out the exterior. When I picked up the car it was hard to clearly see the exterior as it was late in the day and my car is white. Once I got it home and started looking closely at the exterior it looked like they hadn't waxed it or worse yet, it looked like they had buffed through the clear coat. Many years ago I painted cars and I still have my buffers and other equipment so I put a piece of tape down the middle of the trunk lid and buffed out the left side and waxed it.(took me about 10 minutes) It's hard to see in the photo but the left side of the trunk lid cleaned up no problem and has a high gloss on it. The right side which Zappys did, is dull and mottled. They also put Armorall on the plastic floor mats which is a NO,NO. Way to slippery, I had to wash it off. I should have used Nathans detail, I have used them multiple times and never had a problem. read more

My wife surprised me with detailing service at Zappy's Mentor auto wash. I have a GMC Sierra and when I arrived the attendant suggested their Supreme package at $160.00 plus an additional $40.00 premium because they considered my Sierra as A large vehicle. When my wife set up my appointment she was told that we should expect a 4 hour time to complete the detailing process. I should have expected a poor and unpleasant product when they called me after 2 hours claiming my truck was ready for pickup. My inspection of their work revealed my floor mats were put in the truck bed and not returned to their place in the cab. The mats still hat mud stains that should have been cleaned. The floor carpet still had salt stains that should have been cleaned. There was still debris in my center console that could have bee vacuumed. The bed of my truck showed no signs of cleaning; still ha mud stains and tree debris that could have been vacuumed. The windows were never lowered to clean the top edges. I should have asked if the engine compartment cleaning was included in the detailing process, it was not. I think that a professional detailing process should have included cleaning the engine compartment. I think that would be a valued resale detail. Overall, this was a disappointing $200.00 investment an a waste of my time. I do not recommend the establishment and will not patronize any service that Zappy's has to offer. read more

Took my 2018 Rogue to the Wickliffe location. Dirty rubber mats from winter in car and carpet mats in back to be cleaned. When I picked up my vehicle I had 2 sets of carpet mats in back, no rubber. After NUMEROUS calls I finally got a call from the manager saying they checked the video and there were no rubber mats in my car(not true). He then proceeded to tell me because they have so many businesses that he would have their lawyer call me(still waiting). I live in Mentor and am done with all Zappitellis owned businesses! However, the two complaints I have are: If you get the tire treatment the system just squirts "unevenly" some (what appears to be) silicon on the tires and brake discs! Secondly the vehicle is poorly dried at the end. I have also had my vehicle "detailed" at this location and they did a nice job for the price. The people were friendly and accommodating. read more

Dropped my vehicle off for a complete express interior and exterior detail. When they called for me to say the vehicle was done, I arrived to find the exterior untouched. The associate then realized they had overlooked the exterior. They asked if i wanted to wait for them to complete it but I was not going to wait around. They then said I'd have go to their sales store by Heinens to get a refund. While driving to get my refund, I noticed the interior was 80% very nice, but 20% mediocre. I mentioned it to their associate at the refund store and he said "well, it was an express detail. It's not meant to be perfect". I told him they succeeded, it wasn't. I signed up for the unlimited monthly car washes here for two winters in a row. The second winter, I mentioned to one of the workers that I wanted to cancel my membership at the end of March. The worker told me to contact their office through their website. No one answered the phone when I called to cancel. I emailed them through their website and they never responded to me. Upon checking my checking account when my debit card number was compromised (not related to Zappy's), I noticed that they charged me $35 a month for April and May as well even though I never went there during those months. I assume that they would have kept charging me if my debit card number was not canceled. I have tried to contact them to resolve this issue multiple times since I noticed it and they are just completely ignoring me. I'm sure I'll never see the $70 they owe me. The monthly membership is a scam. I won't be going here any more, and I suggest you don't either. read more

Went through the wash and when the blower hit my hood it warped and didn't pop back into place. Immediately reported it to Nick the manager and he said I had to do an incident report online. I did that and received a generic response days later from their attorney saying they have not reviewed the video but since no other cars were damaged that day they take no responsibility. Brought my mom's car in for an interior detail. When I picked it up - right away I noticed dirt around the gear shift console. I pointed it out to the boy who was taking care of us. He got defensive right away and said they can't get that. I was able to wipe it with my finger. He still defended his position that they couldn't clean that. There were brand new floor mats In the trunk when it was dropped off. I never asked to have them placed in the car but they're were put under the rubber mats. When asked to put the mats back in the trunk, the boy's answer was they're already in the car - Refusing to do anything. I asked for a manager - he dumped the paper work to another kid and said I'm not dealing with this bullsh*t customer. I stood there waiting for a few minutes and several guys came out to look at me - they all walked out looking high and with their mouths opened like they've never seen an actual adult before. Called the office the next day. Was told they'll give my number to the detail manager and he'll call me. Told them that I have no faith that he'll call me. I was right.
