The tasty pizza getting made.
A M.

After being here different times over the years with friends and family, I was slightly disappointed. Today, we went to Zanata's for my birthday. Honestly, our service was just mediocre compared to all of our other experiences here. It seemed as if our server was ready to leave or something as we overheard her telling a new server coming in that our table had already ordered. Maybe that is part of the reason why part of my meal was forgotten. She made she to let us know that she took it off, great- because we didn't get it. I would have ordered a second glass of wine, but she never came back by to ask. When she came by to ask about dessert, it came out as "you didn't want the dessert menu did you?"" ..... no, not asking that way. Our food was good and I'll give it another try, but not in a Saturday afternoon and definitely not for my birthday. So we left and are going elsewhere for dessert and drinks.

I recently visited Zanata in Rockwall, Texas for the first time, and it was a very enjoyable experience. It's the kind of place that immediately feels relaxing and inviting. I had ordered the pizza and blue crab dip, and I'm glad I did. It was flavorful and well cooked. The crust had a great texture, and everything came together nicely. I also tried one of their desserts the banana foster , which was a great way to finish the meal. The service was excellent from start to finish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. again.

Came here for dinner on Friday after work. It's a small restaurant in downtown Rockwall. There was a 45 min wait around 5:20, so I recommend going early. Service was a little slow, but they were working fast for the crowd. No one working was just standing around. We got lucky and got to sit at the bar. We tried the bruschetta board was delicious. I wasn't a fan of the Gorgonzola, but only because I don't care for blue cheese, but the Mozzarella and Brie were great. I love the toppings on them. Pork chop was cooked perfectly and I loved the broccolini. Can we talk about the lobster risotto? Oh my. SO RICH and savory. The regulars, who come there often, that we spoke with were super friendly. The couple next to us shared that on Tuesday's they have a special for wine, pizza, and salad for $30. We will definitely go back.

I went for the steak. My date went for the pizza. We were both satisfied. The steak was well cooked, a nice medium well. It had a nice sear and was lightly seasoned. However, and I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing, it was topped with sautéed onions, mushrooms, and sun dried tomatoes. I would have liked something green (something firm like fresh green beans, or grilled asparagus) on my plate, though. The pizza was pretty good. The crust was tasty but I did think the pepperoni was a tad too salty. My date finished the whole thing. I haven't seen her eat that much (relatively) since she was a little girl. The restaurant has the potential to be loud but they've added some baffles in the ceiling. Our fellow diners weren't too crazy, though and the noise level was comfortable. Our server Rachel was friendly and attentive.

Scallops with spaghetti squash and sugar snap peas

I came back with a small group, and we really enjoyed our dinner! I tried the seafood special: scallops with spaghetti squash and sugar snap peas in a basil sauce. It was amazing!

This is exactly where she placed it on table with my arm exactly there. I immediately took a picture.

No flavor in food. Waitress didn't warn me dish was super hot, now I have 2 burn marks on my fingertips that will now puss up. And then asking for steak knife so I can cut into the chicken, she placed the tip of it right at my wrist. Unbelievable.

Always a favorite! Great food and service. Blue crab dip with the pita bread is my favorite.

One of the greatest restaurants in the Dallas area. The sea bass, crab cakes and crab dip is the only items you should order.

Wait list how long?

That answer is hit and miss in Rockwall with any restaurant. It'll be busy on any evening but weekends you can expect 30 to 45 minutes

Why is Yelps waitlist not honored at the restaurant?

The steak was the juiciest and most tender one I have ever had, so definitely worth the money. The house salad was great too, better than most sad salads elsewhere, lol. They don't serve complimentary bread with your meal, which was the only downside to the meal. The restaurant has a multi-layered layout so the wait staff definitely get a good workout with all the stairs. Next time I will go on a nice day and sit outside because it looked nice.

I'm hoping they just did that for Valentine's Day so they could accommodate more people and this is not going to be the standard. We had the spinach dip and chips for appetizer and they were very good. I had the 9 ounce ribeye and hubby had a fillet both were cooked perfectly. We had the baked potato for a side. They both were very good. They cooked them exactly like we ordered them. The service was so so but I'm hoping that was because it was so crowded. We'll try it one more time. The food was pretty good. Oh, another note. They had a guy playing guitar and singing and he was very good. Before he started they had blaring music! Another thing they need to address!

For dinner you can't go wrong getting the 10 oz filet medium rare. It always comes out cooked to perfection. The owners personally created/decorated it and it's the most inventing space I have been to that serves two purposes - eating and reading. Walls of books greet you as you enter, along with big wooden tables and chairs with a desert bar set up. Wonderful! And when you go into the restaurant, there comfy books lined up along the wall, more table and chairs in the middle, and a touch of home with couches and table in front of the bar. And I don't want o miss out in the description of the restrooms - because they are something to see. A sliding door for the restrooms are books that have been arranged so you feel like you're in a somewhat magical feeder with. Oils arranged in fascinating shapes. They also have a separate room for events and meets - and wow! It's gorgeous too! It truly made me want to host an event here just to experience this room. The food is delicious and the waitstaff are great at making you feel comfortable and welcome. This might have been my first time in this restaurant, but it's just the start of many visits here.
