I really enjoy being a member at The Gym. The space is always clean,…read morethe equipment is modern, and the staff is friendly, but what truly makes my experience special is my trainer Monica. Before working with her, I had never strength-trained. She taught me the mind muscle connection. As a runner with a few imbalances, I really value how she builds in mobility, flexibility, and functional strength so I move and feel better overall. In five months, the progress has been amazing. Monica plans every session thoughtfully, challenging but never overwhelming, and always tailored to my needs. Her coaching style is the perfect blend of clear instruction, supportive energy, and just the right amount of push. What really sets her apart is her holistic approach. As a certified yoga teacher, she brings mindfulness and stress relief into each session, making every workout feel like a full reset. And as a chef with nutrition certification, her advice and meal plans are realistic, sustainable, and never restrictive. I couldn't ask for a better trainer. Monica is knowledgeable, caring, and genuinely dedicated. I highly recommend her.

You need to get the facts straight first before you jump the gun on how friendly Frank was to me because that's simply NOT the case... My ID is 100% valid. Im retired like I told him several times This is what I clearly told Frank a year ago and he said that it was" no issue at all" ..So I ended up coming back to the club a year later to finally join up. He asked me for ID which I showed him, then he started to say oh didn't you come in here a year ago etc, so I said yes I did. He then tells me "oh your ID says retired you can join at the full rate" and "I told you last time that im not giving you the discount we offer ...(that's not true at all ), What he said was that it was NO ISSUE".. He started to examine my ID, hold it up to the light literally about 5 different times ,,,Not sure what that was about...I said Frank, " WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY ID- YOURE EXAMINING IT LIKE ITS A FAKE $100 BILL OR SOMETHING, I said is there an issue?????..and he says " OH NOTHING I WAS JUST LOOKING AT IT. He then continues to say he's not giving me the discount and he told me this last year. I said NO PROBLEM...I was leaving, asked him for my ID back, and he started taking pictures of my ID with his phone... Maybe you can clear that up for me Andrew..what was that about after I said no problem and was clearly leaving the club with my coat on. Why did he start taking pictures of My ID? I mean I could care less that you or him think my ID is not valid, I could care less about any discount, or joining your club..Thats not the point at all.. I just didn't appreciate the way I was treated..PERIOD. Its really as Simple as that..I hope this clears it up for you. My experience was not good.

After a decade of being overweight since college and having tried numerous times myself, I decided to get serious and get a trainer. Within 5 months of working with Gil, I reached my goal weight and dropped 45 lbs! On top of that, strength grew tremendously. Went from getting exhausted at the thought of a pull up to doing 10 pull ups in a row with ease. Muscle definition and size has grown quite a bit and clothes fit much better now. Dropped 5 waist sizes on my pants and when from a size L/XL to a S/M. It feels good trying on slim fit clothes and they fit well. All my friend and family has been commenting on how much weight I lost and how much better I look. Highly recommend Gil and have been recommending him to everyone.

While I enjoy the gym, I needed to work with a trainer to establish routines that were effective and that would help me to meet my goals. From the time I reached out to get more information, I was extremely pleased with Gilbert's immediate response and in his attention to detail when working through my regimen with me. He is a professional who obviously cares a lot about the work he does and about his clients. I have the pleasure of working out with Trinnie. She is fantastic! I learn something from her during every single workout. She is extremely knowledgeable and shares a lot of information on nutrition and fitness. She makes excellent recommendations and has given me so many new ideas on how to frame nutrition/workouts, etc. What I first considered to be an indulgence (I've been a gym member and I've worked with trainers - I could have tried on my own) turned out to be the best investment I could have made in my health and fitness.

For my introductory class, I signed up for their Core Pilates. It was really difficult to sign up. I had a hard time getting in contact with anyone (it took about 4 attempts). But when I finally did, the sign up process was easy. They had a lot of classes to pick from, including Pilates, Barre and cardio classes. I didn't realize when I signed up that this was a reformer class. I usually do mat Pilates, but there were a few other beginners in the class and the teacher was very patient and nice. The great thing about the reformer machine is that you can turn up or turn down the intensity of the workout according to where you're at. It does take more coordination than I'm used to being on the machine, but it was fun! The teacher helped make adjustments so I could get the maximum benefit, which I appreciated. The Hackensack facility was really nice and big. They had complimentary lockers and towels and the changing room and restroom were both clean. The membership is kind of steep at $279 per month, but they do have discounts for 26 years old and under an 65 years old and over at their other locations.

I'm a fitness and wellness junkie who loves trying new ways to move my body. I've recently been…read morecurious about pilates and decided to take my first class at Impact Group Fitness in Fort Lee. I stumbled upon the studio on the ClassPass app. They're a one stop shop for HIIT, sculpt, and strength classes. They offer two different formats - low impact (sculpt, barre, pilates, yoga) and high impact (dance, strength, circuits, HIIT). I signed up for the 45 minute Mat Pilates class with Cassidy on a Tuesday night. They're located on a busy street, so you'll have to find metered parking. Upon walking in I was greeted by the warm receptionist. I signed a waiver and she gave me a tour. The studio is pretty small. It's squeaky clean, bright, and minimalistic. There's a "lobby"/waiting area with a merchandise display. They have changing rooms, a bathroom, coat hooks, and free lockers. They only have one group fitness room with a large mirror and barre. All of the equipment for the mat pilates class was already provided to us (mat, ankle weights, magic circle, and dumbbells). I like that the class sizes are small because I prefer a more intimate experience. There were about 12-15 of us. The instructor, Cassidy, started and ended the class right on time. Let me just say this. THIS WORKOUT HUMBLED ME. I consider myself to be a fairly fit individual, but this was a humbling experience. The workout was split into core, back, upper, and lower body with different exercises for each section. It was low impact with HIGH intensity and lots of reps. We focused on form, functional movement, and mind to muscle connection. Pilates has a big emphasis on targeting deep, stabilizing muscles through using precise movements. I was huffing and puffing LOL... I FELT THE BURN!!! My core stability, flexibility, and endurance was PUT TO WORKKKK. Definitely a challenge, but fun at the same time. Cassidy was encouraging and welcoming the entire time. There were women of all different shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. We didn't feel any pressure. She gave us modifications and corrections when needed. My only critique is that she could've paused and demonstrated each exercise before we started. She jumped right in after each set and it was a little hard to see her since I was in the far left corner. I also would've liked a little introduction to the class format before we began (especially for first timers), but that's just me being big on education lol. They have monthly memberships, class packs, and drop in rates. I'll be trying a few more classes through ClassPass and I may consider getting a membership afterwards. Should you try pilates? DUH. And for those who think it "looks or sounds easy".... OH PLEASE!!! Try it out for yourself. I absolutely think it's a workout that will be rewarding and challenging for everyone.

I have scoliosis and needed to find an instructor that could work with me on core strengthening and posture . Hope's sessions are never repetitive and boring , as most other Pilates studios are, that have you do the same routines each time. It's a socialization hour for older women or seniors. If you are young, want a real pilates workout or professional studio- DO NOT COME HERE. It's a social hour, waste of time, and money. Hope, the owner, is oh so nice and considerate in the beginning promising you you everything, but she doesn't deliver. Hope, the owner, acts really caring, but it is all a show. Also-if you want an all female studio, DO NOT BOTHER. The owner, Hope, stated, she is culturally sensitive, understanding, and would not schedule male clients due to my cultural beliefs, but she did anyway after I signed up for $800 package. NO REFUNDS SO BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SIGN UP FOR. She is really pushy and relentless into guilting you sign up for packages because she has money issues and keeps talking about how she wants to grow her business. She does an excellent job of making you feel bad about yourself. She will say you she doesn't have money to color her hair, which made me feel awkward and bad for her as well. I have never had this experience with other studios. People do not wear socks like other studios, nor clean afterwards. If you want to catch something be my guest. It's really disgusting. The mats and reformers are sweaty and smell. Hope, the owner, who was my instructor, does not listen to your needs and concerns. I gave her a chance, explained what I did and wanted like my last studio, but she doesn't LISTEN. She is stuck in her own head and world. Also, would not recommend coming to this studio unless you want to have an injury!!! Stay away!!!!! Many times, I verbalized I cannot do a movement and she kept pushing even though I was red in the face on many occasions, so I stopped going because my physician advise me to discontinue to prevent injury. I expressed my wishes for not wanting to come politely and asked for a refund for 3 classes. She wrote me a nasty and highly inappropriate email that left me in tears. During my one to one sessions, she would eat snacks, check her phone or text, and have conversations with others. The one to one session lack the attention, decorum, and professionalism like my other studio. YOU CANNOT CONCENTRATE. IT'S SO LOUD AND A NEGATIVE ENVIRONMENT. ALL THEY DO IS COMPLAIN ALL DAY LONG AND GOSSIP. IT'S NOT RELAXING and it's sooooooo small of a space for group sessions and privates. The owner does spot appropriately and pulls your ponytail or hair instead of gently correcting her movement or position. She had a "so called funny anecdote" why she does so with clients, which is degrading and really awkward. If Hope (owner) is having a bad day, adult tantrum, or in crisis, she cannot control her emotions and the session becomes consoling her feelings and emotions, so your $80 session is DOWN THE TOILET AND YOUR TIME. You don't know what mood she is in. It's just super awkward. The owner is highly emotional, unstable, and unprofessional on so many levels. She does not have any professional boundaries and wants to get into your personal business. There are studios in Tenafly and Englewood that are so much better!! I didn't get a refund for the classes I didn't attend. I want warn potential clients because the reviews here are not reliable.
