Hope, the owner, is oh so nice and considerate in the beginning promising you you everything, but she doesn't deliver. Hope, the owner, acts really caring, but it is all a show. Also-if you want an all female studio, DO NOT BOTHER. The owner, Hope, stated, she is culturally sensitive, understanding, and would not schedule male clients due to my cultural beliefs, but she did anyway after I signed up for $800 package. NO REFUNDS SO BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SIGN UP FOR. She is really pushy and relentless into guilting you sign up for packages because she has money issues and keeps talking about how she wants to grow her business. She does an excellent job of making you feel bad about yourself. She will say you she doesn't have money to color her hair, which made me feel awkward and bad for her as well. I have never had this experience with other studios. People do not wear socks like other studios, nor clean afterwards. If you want to catch something be my guest. It's really disgusting. The mats and reformers are sweaty and smell. Hope, the owner, who was my instructor, does not listen to your needs and concerns. I gave her a chance, explained what I did and wanted like my last studio, but she doesn't LISTEN. She is stuck in her own head and world. Also, would not recommend coming to this studio unless you want to have an injury!!! Stay away!!!!! Many times, I verbalized I cannot do a movement and she kept pushing even though I was red in the face on many occasions, so I stopped going because my physician advise me to discontinue to prevent injury. I expressed my wishes for not wanting to come politely and asked for a refund for 3 classes. She wrote me a nasty and highly inappropriate email that left me in tears. During my one to one sessions, she would eat snacks, check her phone or text, and have conversations with others. The one to one session lack the attention, decorum, and professionalism like my other studio. YOU CANNOT CONCENTRATE. IT'S SO LOUD AND A NEGATIVE ENVIRONMENT. ALL THEY DO IS COMPLAIN ALL DAY LONG AND GOSSIP. IT'S NOT RELAXING and it's sooooooo small of a space for group sessions and privates. The owner does spot appropriately and pulls your ponytail or hair instead of gently correcting her movement or position. She had a "so called funny anecdote" why she does so with clients, which is degrading and really awkward. If Hope (owner) is having a bad day, adult tantrum, or in crisis, she cannot control her emotions and the session becomes consoling her feelings and emotions, so your $80 session is DOWN THE TOILET AND YOUR TIME. You don't know what mood she is in. It's just super awkward. The owner is highly emotional, unstable, and unprofessional on so many levels. She does not have any professional boundaries and wants to get into your personal business. There are studios in Tenafly and Englewood that are so much better!! BUYER BEWARE. Read This Before Signing…read more I had to edit this review because the Owner stated that if I did not remove my negative reviews, they would proceed with a defamation lawsuit. I will not be bullied into taking down a review based on my personal experience. I have edited the post to focus strictly on the contract terms and my opinions, which are protected by free speech. This threatening action demonstrates how management operates behind the scenes and that if you do not comply, they will attempt to scold you into submission. This detailed and lengthy review alerts anyone considering a membership at CP Fort Lee, Englewood, Northvale, and other locations owned by Scott Untener and managed by Vianca Rinko. These are independently owned franchises. The owner oversees all operations and decisions. The contract in dispute is dated 11/05/2024 ($169/month for 4 sessions). My negative experience began at the eighth month, exposing a pattern of billing designed to penalize members who attempt to freeze or cancel. The Freeze Policy is an unsound option. I requested a membership freeze on 7/29, and I was informed the standard freeze is for medical reasons only. The manager, Vianca, offered a "courtesy" freeze, but the Freeze Policy Clause offers no financial relief, stating "freezing your membership will extend the term of the Agreement and that you will still be obligated to pay your monthly dues." In my case, this meant I would have continued to pay the monthly dues ($169), plus the monthly freeze fee ($15 to $35). The studio operates on a "Use or Lose" policy. If I paused for 2 mos, I would then be required to use the 12 accumulated sessions within 30 days upon reactivation to avoid losing their value. In my view, this structure is an impossible and perversely counterintuitive condition designed to guarantee profit while making it nearly impossible for a working adult with time constraints to redeem the full value. The additional monthly freeze fee functions as an extra income stream during non-utilization. I then requested cancellation on 7/30, two days after my payment due date (7/28). The Termination clause requires 30 days' advance written notice. The 7/28 payment covered the service period of 8/1-8/31. Vianca stated that 30-days' notice meant one final payment. My notice on 7/30 missed the deadline by 1 day. This resulted in me being liable for the payment due on 8/28, turning my initial 9/1 cancellation request into a 10/1 cancellation. I initially refused to pay this 8/28 bill for ethical concerns, but I paid it in October. My cost to break free from this contract was $338, plus the $20 late fee. This is a highly punitive interpretation of the contract designed to maximize charges. Missing a deadline by 1 day results in a disproportionately large financial penalty. The club benefits from active, freezing, and canceling members alike, ensuring no financial loss to management, EVER. After 7/31, I faced what I deem harassment from their debt collector. When I tried to stop any bills passed 9/28, Vianca claimed on 10/4 that she would contact "Corporate" for a waiver. However, when pressed for Corporate's contact on 10/7, the response was "You can Google that information..." I view this as a lie intended to stall and to be petty. Due to their refusal to resolve the dispute amicably, I sought Counsel, and the issue ended 10/29/25. The current legal threat against this review only underscores that my critique is not baseless. In my opinion, management displayed confrontational behavior, acting like bullies who strong-arm members into compliance. Please follow the instructions on the Dispute Resolution Clause to retain your legal rights. Save yourself the stress of dealing with any CP operated by this Owner. I was a loyal, repeat member from 2022 until this incident. Penalizing a repeat member for missing the cancellation deadline by 1 day is not a client-focused business model, in my opinion. How quickly the tables turn when you want to depart, but to the business's favor, not for the member.

Also, I was told by a very nice young female employee that it would cost $20 to use the lockers which was a one-time fee. I paid the $20 and began my workout. A short time later, the girl told me the lockers cost $20 every month. I find that to be ridiculous and said I would like my $20 (that I had just paid less than an hour ago) refunded. A very rude young male employee said it's non-refundable. I said I'd like to speak with the manager. He told me she was teaching swim lessons and she wouldn't be available for four hours! I will be back at the gym tomorrow or the next day and will update my review on this situation.

I absolutely love this work out! I have a back injury that I have been dealing with for the last…read moretwo years as a result of a car accident. I have been trying to find the sweet spot of being able to do some level of cardio and weight training, without aggravating my back injury. And to my surprise, after taking a class on a whim about a week ago, I have found my new obsession! The coaches are full of positive energy and ready to help you reach your individual goals. They each are aware of my injury and work with me to find modifications, that will still challenge me, but will not leave me in pain afterward. I really, really have appreciated that from the coaches and staff. They take it seriously. Also, I enjoy being able to move between different types of exercise and not getting bored by doing the same thing for an hour. The music I also felt was really representative of different cultures, which I enjoyed. I especially enjoyed hearing some reggaeton, and dem bow on the mixes!!

People reading this review, RUN from the Edgewater location. Find another brand! This has been the…read moremost exhausting and unprofessional customer experience I've ever had with a fitness company. Never again. Back in July 2025, I reached out to cancel my Elite membership at the Edgewater location due to financial hardship. I was told by the staff, "No problem, you won't be charged," only to find out later that they never processed the cancellation. I was charged $198 anyway. When I followed up, Gabe admitted, word for word, "That was my fault. I messed up." He promised to process it immediately, but he never did. I asked to be released from the contract. They agreed and admitted fault. But then they said, "We understand you're going through financial hardship. What if we froze your membership instead and processed your refund immediately?" I agreed only if the refund would actually be issued right away. They promised it would be. The refund never came. Between August 20 and October 6, I followed up seven times. Every time I was met with a new excuse. Gabe repeatedly admitted the refund had never been submitted. He said things like "I forgot" or "I messed up again." Other times he claimed they were waiting on owner approval. A few days later, he'd change his story and admit he never submitted it. Despite all his promises and apologies, nothing ever happened. It wasn't until I asked to escalate to the owner that Gabe finally rushed the refund through on Oct 6th. But even then, they refused to connect me with ownership. They refused to cancel my membership even though they didn't hold up their end of the bargain. They also refused to apply the refund toward the cancellation fee of $218. I told them they already had the $198, and they could apply it toward the balance so I could walk away peacefully after being TERRIBLY mishandled. I even offered to cover the remaining $20 myself. They still said no, we won't do that. I was denied when I asked to speak to the owner. I emailed the owner directly and never received a response. I reached out to corporate and have not heard back. I am now preparing to escalate through other channels. The lack of professionalism and accountability here is staggering. After reading other reviews, it's clear this is not an isolated incident. This studio has a pattern of overcharging customers, holding on to money that doesn't belong to them, refusing cancellations, and dragging out refund requests for months. Customers are left chasing the studio just to get basic issues resolved. That is completely unacceptable. They clearly prioritize contracts over a people. But if they had chosen to value people over money, they would have recognized this as an opportunity to preserve trust and retain a client long-term. Instead, they burned a bridge, all to cling to a two-month fee that was already covered. The funds for the cancellation were in hand, and they still refused, despite openly acknowledging their mishandling. Any brand with integrity would have recognized that it's the small breaches, the little foxes, that spoil the vineyard. This could have been a moment to make things right. Instead, they deflected, delayed, and claimed their hands were tied. No, this wasn't about policy. It was about greed! And now, a customer who might have returned months down the line will never trust them again. Orangetheory Edgewater -- do better. And to corporate, if this is the standard being allowed under your franchise, it's a serious stain on the brand.
