Im retired like I told him several times This is what I clearly told Frank a year ago and he said that it was" no issue at all" ..So I ended up coming back to the club a year later to finally join up. He asked me for ID which I showed him, then he started to say oh didn't you come in here a year ago etc, so I said yes I did. He then tells me "oh your ID says retired you can join at the full rate" and "I told you last time that im not giving you the discount we offer ...(that's not true at all ), What he said was that it was NO ISSUE".. He started to examine my ID, hold it up to the light literally about 5 different times ,,,Not sure what that was about...I said Frank, " WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY ID- YOURE EXAMINING IT LIKE ITS A FAKE $100 BILL OR SOMETHING, I said is there an issue?????..and he says " OH NOTHING I WAS JUST LOOKING AT IT. He then continues to say he's not giving me the discount and he told me this last year. I said NO PROBLEM...I was leaving, asked him for my ID back, and he started taking pictures of my ID with his phone... Maybe you can clear that up for me Andrew..what was that about after I said no problem and was clearly leaving the club with my coat on. Why did he start taking pictures of My ID? I mean I could care less that you or him think my ID is not valid, I could care less about any discount, or joining your club..Thats not the point at all.. Also-if you want an all female studio, DO NOT BOTHER. The owner, Hope, stated, she is culturally sensitive, understanding, and would not schedule male clients due to my cultural beliefs, but she did anyway after I signed up for $800 package. NO REFUNDS SO BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SIGN UP FOR. She is really pushy and relentless into guilting you sign up for packages because she has money issues and keeps talking about how she wants to grow her business. She does an excellent job of making you feel bad about yourself. She will say you she doesn't have money to color her hair, which made me feel awkward and bad for her as well. I have never had this experience with other studios. People do not wear socks like other studios, nor clean afterwards. If you want to catch something be my guest. It's really disgusting. The mats and reformers are sweaty and smell. Hope, the owner, who was my instructor, does not listen to your needs and concerns. I gave her a chance, explained what I did and wanted like my last studio, but she doesn't LISTEN. She is stuck in her own head and world. Also, would not recommend coming to this studio unless you want to have an injury!!! Stay away!!!!! Many times, I verbalized I cannot do a movement and she kept pushing even though I was red in the face on many occasions, so I stopped going because my physician advise me to discontinue to prevent injury. I expressed my wishes for not wanting to come politely and asked for a refund for 3 classes. She wrote me a nasty and highly inappropriate email that left me in tears. During my one to one sessions, she would eat snacks, check her phone or text, and have conversations with others. The one to one session lack the attention, decorum, and professionalism like my other studio. YOU CANNOT CONCENTRATE. IT'S SO LOUD AND A NEGATIVE ENVIRONMENT. ALL THEY DO IS COMPLAIN ALL DAY LONG AND GOSSIP. IT'S NOT RELAXING and it's sooooooo small of a space for group sessions and privates. The owner does spot appropriately and pulls your ponytail or hair instead of gently correcting her movement or position. She had a "so called funny anecdote" why she does so with clients, which is degrading and really awkward. If Hope (owner) is having a bad day, adult tantrum, or in crisis, she cannot control her emotions and the session becomes consoling her feelings and emotions, so your $80 session is DOWN THE TOILET AND YOUR TIME. You don't know what mood she is in. It's just super awkward. The owner is highly emotional, unstable, and unprofessional on so many levels. She does not have any professional boundaries and wants to get into your personal business. There are studios in Tenafly and Englewood that are so much better!! I didn't get a refund for the classes I didn't attend. I want warn potential clients because the reviews here are not reliable.

This was my first time doing aerial so I was nervous, but Mariela was very friendly and helpful. We started the class with some stretches and yoga poses on the mat, and then moved onto the hammock. If you don't bring a mat, you can rent one there. Mariela challenged the 3 of us to do inversions and feel confident in ourselves to trust our bodies and abilities. I highly recommend taking a class with her, I believe she also teaches at the other location as well. The location has gravel parking lot that can be tight on the side. For my introductory class, I signed up for their Core Pilates. It was really difficult to sign up. I had a hard time getting in contact with anyone (it took about 4 attempts). But when I finally did, the sign up process was easy. They had a lot of classes to pick from, including Pilates, Barre and cardio classes. I didn't realize when I signed up that this was a reformer class. I usually do mat Pilates, but there were a few other beginners in the class and the teacher was very patient and nice. The great thing about the reformer machine is that you can turn up or turn down the intensity of the workout according to where you're at. It does take more coordination than I'm used to being on the machine, but it was fun! The teacher helped make adjustments so I could get the maximum benefit, which I appreciated. The Hackensack facility was really nice and big. They had complimentary lockers and towels and the changing room and restroom were both clean. The membership is kind of steep at $279 per month, but they do have discounts for 26 years old and under an 65 years old and over at their other locations.

It's a really popular class and it's usually a full house. Most of the students are very advanced or in training to teach themselves. I like it because it's fast paced and I feel like I'm getting stronger and more experienced as a yogi. Jhon provides a good amount of discipline to encourage you to push harder. I like that he also shares some philosophical tidbits during the class (usually toward the end). I also took the class with Shir for the first time Today. It was just me and her in the class so it was very personalized. She's so dedicated to her teaching and making sure your alignment and form are right. My favorite thing about Atmananda is that I really feel like a student when I go to class there. I'm there to learn and get better and the teachers are invested in that. I can't say that about every yoga studio I go to.
