BUYER BEWARE. Read This Before Signing. I had to edit this review because the Owner stated that if I did not remove my negative reviews, they would proceed with a defamation lawsuit. I will not be bullied into taking down a review based on my personal experience. I have edited the post to focus strictly on the contract terms and my opinions, which are protected by free speech. This threatening action demonstrates how management operates behind the scenes and that if you do not comply, they will attempt to scold you into submission. This detailed and lengthy review alerts anyone considering a membership at CP Fort Lee, Englewood, Northvale, and other locations owned by Scott Untener and managed by Vianca Rinko. These are independently owned franchises. The owner oversees all operations and decisions. The contract in dispute is dated 11/05/2024 ($169/month for 4 sessions). My negative experience began at the eighth month, exposing a pattern of billing designed to penalize members who attempt to freeze or cancel. The Freeze Policy is an unsound option. I requested a membership freeze on 7/29, and I was informed the standard freeze is for medical reasons only. The manager, Vianca, offered a "courtesy" freeze, but the Freeze Policy Clause offers no financial relief, stating "freezing your membership will extend the term of the Agreement and that you will still be obligated to pay your monthly dues." In my case, this meant I would have continued to pay the monthly dues ($169), plus the monthly freeze fee ($15 to $35). The studio operates on a "Use or Lose" policy. If I paused for 2 mos, I would then be required to use the 12 accumulated sessions within 30 days upon reactivation to avoid losing their value. In my view, this structure is an impossible and perversely counterintuitive condition designed to guarantee profit while making it nearly impossible for a working adult with time constraints to redeem the full value. The additional monthly freeze fee functions as an extra income stream during non-utilization. I then requested cancellation on 7/30, two days after my payment due date (7/28). The Termination clause requires 30 days' advance written notice. The 7/28 payment covered the service period of 8/1-8/31. Vianca stated that 30-days' notice meant one final payment. My notice on 7/30 missed the deadline by 1 day. This resulted in me being liable for the payment due on 8/28, turning my initial 9/1 cancellation request into a 10/1 cancellation. I initially refused to pay this 8/28 bill for ethical concerns, but I paid it in October. My cost to break free from this contract was $338, plus the $20 late fee. This is a highly punitive interpretation of the contract designed to maximize charges. Missing a deadline by 1 day results in a disproportionately large financial penalty. The club benefits from active, freezing, and canceling members alike, ensuring no financial loss to management, EVER. After 7/31, I faced what I deem harassment from their debt collector. When I tried to stop any bills passed 9/28, Vianca claimed on 10/4 that she would contact "Corporate" for a waiver. However, when pressed for Corporate's contact on 10/7, the response was "You can Google that information..." I view this as a lie intended to stall and to be petty. Due to their refusal to resolve the dispute amicably, I sought Counsel, and the issue ended 10/29/25. The current legal threat against this review only underscores that my critique is not baseless. In my opinion, management displayed confrontational behavior, acting like bullies who strong-arm members into compliance. Please follow the instructions on the Dispute Resolution Clause to retain your legal rights. Save yourself the stress of dealing with any CP operated by this Owner. I was a loyal, repeat member from 2022 until this incident. Penalizing a repeat member for missing the cancellation deadline by 1 day is not a client-focused business model, in my opinion. How quickly the tables turn when you want to depart, but to the business's favor, not for the member. read more

The worst and rudest customer service ever. I should have done more research and actually read the review on yelp before I joined. The instructors were really helpful and they made the class very interesting and fun. Some of the reviewers are correct about the waitlist. There are no timeslots available and if you want to go for a class, you have to book it weeks advance. The Fort Lee location first of all, has no free parking. I've always paid for the parking whenever I went for a class and would be like 2-3 dollars. The worst thing about this location, is the customer service. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Vianca is so unprofessional on answering an email. I just wanted to confirm my cancellation and her response was very rude and unprofessional. Attaching the picture of the last email and literally just said, read the attached file. Also took them several days for her to answer me back with the cancellation info, I had to call the studio several times to get a hold of her. This facility is unfortunately a reflection of its poor leadership, with the primary issue being the management--specifically, Scott, the owner. While the instructors and classes themselves were fine, Scott's behavior and complete lack of customer service etiquette have made my overall experience here among the worst I've ever had with any business. I was contacted during work hours by Scott himself, who took it upon himself to question me about an internal billing error regarding an uncharged month. This is an issue that should have been addressed internally with staff--not directed at a paying customer in an accusatory and intrusive manner. His tone was confrontational, rude, and entirely unprofessional, as if I were responsible for the business's own oversight. Prior to this incident, I was informed I couldn't cancel my membership after one month due to a supposed three-month commitment--a policy I was never made aware of. When I raised this issue, Scott outright dismissed it, claiming it was "highly unlikely," despite my having the full text conversation proving otherwise. Rather than cancelling, I was given an extension for my credits from a general manager after I explained that the location was difficult for me to reach. Scott also questioned me about the extension in an aggressive and combative manner, as if I had any control over the length of the extension or that it went against "corporate policy." After posting my initial review on Google, Scott called me within five minutes to confront me about what I had written. His tone was extremely hostile and made me feel very uncomfortable. I would never recommend this facility to friends, family, or anyone who values respectful treatment and basic customer care. As long as the management continues to operate in this manner, I strongly advise others to look elsewhere. UPDATE: This is a response to the owner's reply to my review. His tone alone reflects a level of arrogance that's hard to ignore--he clearly struggles with constructive criticism and instead chooses to discredit anyone who doesn't praise him. As for the claim that this place is no different from other gyms or boutique fitness studios--I've never been contacted in the middle of the day and berated because THAT facility failed to process my payment. You have my card. That wasn't my problem. I've also never been spoken to in such a disrespectful manner and gaslit to think I was at fault. Scott has my phone number (I know because he called me twice--once before and once after I posted my initial review--to harass me about it), yet he hasn't once reached out to apologize or make things right. At this point, I definitely don't want to hear it! Instead, he chooses to publicly shame anyone who voices a negative opinion. I strongly recommend avoiding this "gym". The staffs/instructors are kind but the problem is management. The problem, they will make it so difficult to cancel their membership, it feels like a scam. I've been booked with business trips, so coming here has gotten hard. Be WARNED , there is no 3 month trial. They will keep charging you and make it so difficult for you to cancel, it's a NIGHTMARE. Have fun with friendly smiles until their charging $260 each month, saying pull shit excuses. I have given my 30 day notice on JUNE 21 and their charging me again for August, extending my cancel date until August 22. They have no plans on refunding any money and will continue to make it difficult to get out. read more

I've completed 50 classes and love it! I used to do Bikram yoga and am an avid marathoner! All of the instructors are fantastic! My fav is David because he's just bad ass instructor and he will wake up and shake up your every single muscle. His classes are tough but you'll feel difference. Maggie is another tough cookie instructor - don't let her soft voice fool you - her classes are spicy and your body will feel that!!! Jennie is super awesome too! Im determined to find pre-pregnancy body back and I'm loving Pilates so far. Staff and facilities are excellent. read more

PLEASE RUN far far away from this place I was told not to get a membership here by former members and turns out I would have saved a lot of money, time and distress if I never came here. Also after canceling my membership she decides to call me and HARRASS ME For this review I left. After I hung up on her once because I am fed up with this business she calls me back to say that I am rude (after not allowing me to get a word in in the first phone call, second time she called I can admit I wasn't the nicest but in my defense I already had it with this person and calling me back after I specifically said not too is VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL .... Don't do it. The manager will tell you to just "book yourself on waitlist, don't worry about spot will open!" And we all have schedules to keep. We cannot wait anxiously for a waitlist spot to open at the last minute. Then when you finally find an open spot (and make sure you are booking at least 2 weeks in advance maybe more.... And if you book at the least desired studio and waitlist for your geographically desirable studio, and don't see they have made your waitlist into a booking you will be surprise charged on your credit card for egregious amounts. Find a real studio. One that doesn't have a manager CANCEL your membership for questioning the app and overall booking / cancellation process. I have spoken to a dozen other former members, all are in agreement ... this place blows. read more

Excited about Club Pilates new location in downtown Fort Lee. Amazing brand new studio filled with brand new reformers, spring towers, bosu balls, TRX towers and resistance chairs. Instructors are knowledgeable, invested in your success and everyone's ability to perform the exercises correctly - so you get the most benefit in a safe way. Safety protocol is in place and taken seriously at all times. Schedule covers all skill levels and preferences for different workouts utilizing all the available apparatuses- also as a male I want to say how comfortable I feel at this studio. Which is important to help focus and being able to concentrate on my breath and get the most from the workout. Can't wait to get back out to the golf course. As a first timer to Pilates, the staff really made me feel comfortable and welcome. The owner and manager are super polite, most of the instructors are considerate of everyone's different levels, and their bathrooms are so well stoked, it's the best. Took my mom to a class here this winter. Facilities are spacious and clean, and the instructor was great. However, if you make the mistake of giving them your phone number they will call you nearly every day with the energy of an MLM salesman. The amount of missed calls I get from this place borders on harassment. On 12/28/2024 they called again so I let them know it's ok to stop calling me to book a class, and I will sign up in the future. Easy, right? Well today I just got another call from someone asking me if she could help me book a class and I said no, and please stop calling me because I will book it myself. She proceeded to tell me that the last time they called was Dec 3rd (wow, such lies and I have the screenshots of my call history to prove it) and hung up on me while I was still talking, maybe to salve her ego or prove a point. Clean, bright and great location! The instructors are friendly and changes the routine so you won't get bored and keep challenging your body. Appreciate how everyone cleans the equipment after use. The classes are well organized so you can get a variety of levels each day. I had horrible sciatica issues, been going to chiropractor, physical therapy, acupuncture...but with 28th class in so far, I havent had any pains!!! Pilates helps with posture and a strong core. I am not a gym person, but I love taking Pilates classes in Fort Lee and Englewood two places. Being a member for only 3 weeks, I have been obsessed at Pilates. Even though it is a group class, it is definitely worth joining it. Most of the instructors are great, Susan, Linda, Denise, and Chelsea Jennie are super great. Worst part -they are soooo pushy trying to get u to sign up for an (expensive )membership. They literally sent a group of people in the room seconds after class was done trying to sell packages.... Accessible location, affordable prices. You can get a mix of cardio and traditional/reformer pilates depending on the instructor and the level. For beginners, I suggest some few private sessions as the downside to group pilates is the lack of consistency in instructors being thorough about correcting your form and such.
